Why would they add something which is not necessary ? Was there anyone at the time of Holy Prophet (saw) who was clean shaven? I agree with beard for man is masculine but Quran is not ordering keeping beard or any hadith directly saying keeping beard is sunnah or fard. May be it is advice to those who keep beard ? Need more clarity on this. Just because Scholars agree on something doesn't make it part of Islam. Ijma is part of Islam ? Then why do Shia keep short beard and Sunni keep one hand and Wahabis (Salafi's) keep beard up to their legs ? That means you are yourself not sure about beard length.
Yes but in what context did the hadith come in? You have to also look at that. For example in madinah at the time of Muhammad (pbuh), all non Muslims had beards and when Muslims would go to war against Non-Muslims, it would be hard for Muslims to distinguish between Muslims and Non-Muslims since there was non specific Islamic or non-Islamic uniform. In this case, it made sense for Muslims to grow beard and trim mustache. I am not saying that keeping a beard is not fard but from my understanding, in today's time keeping a beard is highly recomended sunnah but not fard because the dynamics have completely changed.
I am of the opinion that since it was not expressly forbidden than it is makrooh to shave beard and not a fard to grow one. Can you guys give me your thoughts on this? I would like to hear your perspectives. Assalamualaykum
First of all, we have no opinions since this is not a matter of ijtihad. Also, ijtihad is done by Ulama, not by regular folk. So, the Ulama have agreed unanimously including the Sahaba and the 2 generations after them that keeping the beard is Fard. The evidence is directly from the command of the Prophet alayhi salatu wa salam to keep the beard and tri. the upper lip i.e moustache. Another evidence is in the Authentic Hadith where the Persian men of Kisra came to Arabia with their bears shaved and with their big moustache and the Rasul turned away from them. He then asked them the reasons for then doing this and they said that it was the kings command i.e. Kisra. The Rasul alayhi salatu wa salam replied that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala told him to grow the beard and to trim the upper lip area. So, this hadith is not even necesary since the Prophet himself already commanded the growing of the beard and the Scholars transmitted a ijma on this i.e. scholarly consensus, this means that no Ulama of Ahl Sunnah and specially from the early generations differed regarding this. So no, its haram to shave the beard and this is Ijma, consensus.
@@nassar2156 Allah said so many times to obey Him and His Messenger, so in reality, it falls in to that category automatically i.e, obedience to the Prophet. Also, you don't see that Dhur is 4 Rakah in the Quran, right? No. Here are the Verses of Allah subhanahu wa ta'la as proof. Surah An Nisa verse 80 "He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah ; but those who turn away - We have not sent you over them as a guardian" Surah An Nisa verse 13 "These are the limits [set by] Allah, and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens [in Paradise] under which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein; and that is the great attainment." Surah Al Fath verse 13 "And whoever has not believed in Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze." And the list goes on and on. And what did Allah say about Muhammad alayhi salatu wa salam? Surah An Nahl verse 44 "With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW) the reminder and the advice (the Quran), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought." Surah Al Baqarah verse 151 "Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom1 and teaching you that which you did not know." It means its not mentioned in quran and hadees that beard is compulsory. Only imams and scholars saying it is farz. In islam u cant go against Allah and Rasool. U can have difference of opinions with others.
In the Quran 24:54, Allah (SWT) says: {Say, "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger; but if you turn away - then upon him is only that [duty] with which he has been charged, and upon you is that with which you have been charged. And if you obey him, you will be [rightly] guided. And there is not upon the Messenger except the [responsibility for] clear notification."} The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) do not talk by his own passion, but instead talks from that which was revealed to him by Allah (SWT). Islam need to be understand and studied by studying both the Quran and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Hadeeth narrated from Ibn ‘Umar who said that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Be different from the mushrikeen: let your beards grow and trim your moustaches.” This was an order from the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). he let his beard Grow and ordered the Muslims to let our beard grow.

SaSiNO97 _what exactly is your reason, that you want to take only from the Quran and not from the teachings of Muhammad (SAW)?

anonymous guy I see what you’re saying and it makes perfect sense. Muhamed SAW was sent to reveal and CLARIFY the message. Not add and take things out. That is what Allah SWA meant when he said follow me and my messenger. I follow what the Hadith matches it the Quran. If it’s in the Hadith and nowhere in the Quran I grow skeptical of it. Hadith should be used to clarify what is in the Quran already.

What about professions where a beard proves problematic in the execution of one's duties? Example a doctor whose beard hair could fall on the patient he is operating on? Or an actor who has to play different roles?
I am here to answer you! Number 1: In islam and simply strong faith muslims already dont do job like being an actor because you are spending time and doing rolls with someone except your wife or your blood relations ( i am talking about opposite sex) and an earning which comes by the beauty of showing body parts or body shapes just like actress famous for their body shape or something like (Miss India) thats actually Creator knows that opposite sex can never be so positive without any negative thought and dont choose a profession in which you show your body parts or show yourself to whole world because even in blood relationship in a family the father should not be without shirt in front of her daughter older than 7 years old or a brother should not sleep with her sister after age of 7 because its proved scientifically also after 1400 years that Human Hormones can't be controlled be controlled by their thoughts until you change your routine which means its wrong to think that it would be normal for someone to sleep with her sister because she is sister but instead you should think that she is your sister so as an ethics you should maintain distance while sleeping. So muslims dont choose profession that makes issue for themselve and their faith. But if your basic education is interrupted buy it then first try your efforts to convince but if still you can't convince then Allah will reward you for your efforts and this will not be sin Because Allah knows your efforts
In case of doctor then i have never seen that beard hairs are so thin and weak😂 for your kind information all Muslims of pakistan india and everyone who keeps beard knows that beard hair are very strong and we apply coconut oil also and even if you think that its problematic then there are many other things in daily life which we consider normal even if they are weird so its all about priorities

The fact that religions are being assessed by external validations and features rather than being simple human being is the problem of now. A person is holy when he is simple and his faith and humanity are in his heart and deeds, not in the beard, clothes, accent or rituals. My personal concept of true love and faith. Beard has nothing to do with religion itself. It doesn't soar your faith or make you a better person when you are without beard.. Peace to everyone. He says everyone around prophet had a beard is right, you know why? because everybody had a beard that times, it was just ordinary thing. It was just for hygienic purposes. If you shave at that hot climate and with lack of clean water, expendable razor was the reason and so on. I am not judging, I am just telling my insight and telling to focus on insight faith.
You're absolutely right, having beard does not mean you're religious, its sad seeing islam becoming more shallow and focusing on appearence rather than iman and the actual meaning of having faith
The command was to so the opposite of what the pagans do. Everybody including non believers wear a beard. Then the inly part of the command that makes sense is “do the opposite of what the pagans do.” But in this case it would be to trim or shave the beard.

What if you have an ugly beard? For example, my beard is very coarse and curly and cannot be combed whatsoever. It also forms knots that’s impossible to detangle, making my beard naturally unruly, dry and unclean. I’ve used hundreds of products and tools to groom it but to no avail. Prophet told his followers to be different and also trim snd groom their beard but he never mentions that people who shave will be thrown to hell, but you know, some people likes to mix their culture with religion and say haram to something that is makrooh and fard to something that is sunnah just to get people on their side 🤦♂️ In the end it's people's choice to shave their beard or keep it, regardless of both no sin or haram is involved

The shaving of the beard is optional among believers in the MOST HIGH. In ancient times, tribal groups could easily identify one another by markings, attire, or customs. If a member of the family shaved his beard, then it would be a sin (ra- dysfunctional) because he could be mistaken for someone in another culture, tribe, race, etc. During wartime, that would be fatal. Also, the tribe could identify the male from the female since the female doesn't typically grow facial hair. The expectations of women in case of work, or war was different. A brother would run to the aid of a women while a man most likely could manage without. Yah give us the beard for a reason, but culturally, we trim it, cut it, style it. There is no difference between cutting 1 inch or shaving it smooth in these days. But if my bothers want to use the beard to identify their religion, then don't shave. We pray that their inward actions reflect the holiness of their outward appearance. Shalom

@@mohamudahmed6554 hmm I see. If something ought to be haram shouldn't it be mentioned in the Qur'an though?

Surah An Nisa verse 80
"He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah ; but those who turn away - We have not sent you over them as a guardian"
Surah An Nisa verse 13
"These are the limits [set by] Allah, and whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger will be admitted by Him to gardens [in Paradise] under which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein; and that is the great attainment."
Surah Al Fath verse 13
"And whoever has not believed in Allah and His Messenger - then indeed, We have prepared for the disbelievers a Blaze."
And the list goes on and on. And what did Allah say about Muhammad alayhi salatu wa salam?
Surah An Nahl verse 44
"With clear signs and Books (We sent the Messengers). And We have also sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW) the reminder and the advice (the Quran), that you may explain clearly to men what is sent down to them, and that they may give thought."
Surah Al Baqarah verse 151
"Just as We have sent among you a messenger from yourselves reciting to you Our verses and purifying you and teaching you the Book and wisdom1 and teaching you that which you did not know."
