    Graham Glasgow started every game last year at multiple positions on the line. They replaced Jonah Jackson with Kevin Zeitler from Baltimore. Pretty big oversight for these guys - especially AQ - to botch that.

    • @WesVikis
      @WesVikis 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      Technically they did replace Jonah with Graham, since KZ will replace GG at RIght Guard and GG will replace JJ at Left Guard.
      I personally see it as an upgrade at both spots. AQ, we need you to champion this oline now, brush up brother

    • @larkwyll7351
      @larkwyll7351 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes and no. Jonah Jackson was a LG and Zeitler is a RG. Glasgow won the job over Big V for RG to start the year but shuffled around to plug holes as you mentioned. This year coming up Glasgow is in fact going to be replacing Jonah Jackson's spot on our line at LG. Zeitler is playing RG for the Lions where J. Jackson didn't line up.

    👍🏻🦁🏈Zeitler replaced Jackson. Glasgow can play rt/lft guard and center. Since Zeitler is Rt guard only, then Glasgow took lft guard spot. Lucky to have Glasgow who is very under rated IMO.

    • @solarhits0411
      @solarhits0411 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      People forget that Glasgow was the center before Ragnow and in a way groomed him to take over center position. I hated when we didn’t resign him the first time around but I get it. So glad he’s back and he wanted to come back. Him, Decker and Ragnow all played together and now Sewell we finally have something we have never had before is continuity on the line. In the past it was was an endless revolving door on the oline.

    I've seen many people bring up Goff's contract including in this video but it's not like he went from a rookie deal to this, he was already making huge money. For reference his cap hit in 2022 was 30M, 2023 31M with the extension it went DOWN for 2024 to 27M and in 2025 will be where it was at lasts year at 31M. They are still way under the cap this year and next year they will be projected to be 45M with all their key players and most of their starters signed. That leaves plenty of room to fill out the rest of the roster and make possible upgrade or 2.
    Now in 2026 that's where the Goff's number takes a HUGE bump, all the way up to 70 million. The thing is though that bump coincides with alot of previous dead hits coming off the books on top of the league cap projecting to get much higher so the net for the Lions in terms of space is basically the same. They are projected to have about 75 million in cap space for 2026 with all their top key players under contract with the exception of Hutchinson so adding him will definitely take a bite out of that space.
    So in conclusion the Lions are in no danger of losing anybody of note in the next 4 years due to Goff's contract because they are so young and are so good at manipulating the cap. By the time most of their players are due to get a major bump in cap hit will be after Goff's extension ends.

    Ya'll missed a couple huge points about Lions:
    - Dan's been having to play 4th Downs because they haven't had a reliable kicker in his 3 seasons. UFL star kicker Jake Bates was signed after UFL season to compete with Michael Badgley (who is not reliable beyond 40 yd attempts).
    - The entirely rebuilt secondary with a trade for Carlton Davis, signing Amik Robertson, and using 1st 2 draft picks on Terrion Arnold (Alabama) and Ennis Rakestraw (Missouri).

      Well... Bates whiffed on several kicks down the stretch in the USFL, not so sure he's the answer, or will even make the team. Badgely made 24 of 28 in "22, 4 for 4 in '23. Dude is rock solid, really not sure why everyone wants him gone.
      Can't kick for distance is the knock...2 for 3 from 50+ in '22, 2 for 3 again last year, and that doesn't even include that ballsy 53-yard or he kicked against Tampa Bay at a critical time in the game in the playoffs. We're fine at kicker, with or without Bates.

    The thing that Justin gets wrong about the Packers is that Jordan Morgan was drafted as a luxury depth piece, NOT to immediately start. Rasheed Walker was the starter at LT during Jordan Love's 10 game run + playoffs and he was very good, nearly great at that LT spot. Jordan Morgan seems to have been drafted to be developed much like Lukas Van Ness was last year. Lukas Van Ness was the 12th pick in the 2023 draft and didn't start last year on the defensive line, but saw moderate rotation. Which is how I believe you'll see Jordan Morgan deployed in 2024. He might not even start, but you'll see him get plugged in on some series here and there to get reps and experience at each offensive line position from LT to RG to RG and RT. Morgan is going to see snap work at every OL position except Center. The Packers' philosophy on the offensive line is about versatility and they draft players differently than other teams. Other teams look for a physical prototype for each OL position, while the Packers look for quick feet and athletic ability and a 'medium' physical build (6'4" - 6'6" 300-320 pounds, not focusing on 'arm length') across the line and each lineman can hop over to another spot if injuries necessitate it.

    • @HarveyWallbangers2
      @HarveyWallbangers2 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Came here to tell them Walker is the LT. However, since camp started Morgan has played almost exclusively at RG. I think he’ll start there. If Tom or Walker gets injured, they can kick him outside.

      Except the Justin Fields led Bears almost swept the Lions last season, we kept the same defense and added a bunch of offensive weapons and a generational QB, and you got a QB that our secondary owns, better hope we're at least three games back in the standings or Detroit ain't gonna back to the playoffs.

    • @andyirwin1008
      @andyirwin1008 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MobiusAmpere Detroit will most certainly be in the playoffs, and will also win the division again. This "almost swept" comment is so tired. 1. Chicago didn't actually sweep them, so it's null and void right there. 2. They beat them on week 2 of back to back road games, thats a lot of travel within 2 weeks. Chicago also lost the QB who was the real culprit of their success against Detroit, because Det couldn't contain him. The new QB they have now isn't nearly the athlete that JF1 is, so it'll be much easier keeping him in the pocket, he's shifty but he's not that fast. Also, he's a rookie and Detroit added not 1, but 4 pieces to their overall CB room. I expect a clean sweep of the Bears this year, Chi might win the game in Chi again, but honestly, temper your expectations. Caleb is good, he's not anything generational. He's Kyler Murray with a better deep ball and less speed. Chicago is an 8-9 win team at best.

    I think you have it backwards with jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs may have been a later down back last year, but they were trying to get him used to the offense and playing in the NFL. This year, I think Gibbs will play the role that Swift used to play and Montgomery will play the role that Williams used to have. Gibbs will typically be the 1st and second down back, along with being a receiving back. Montgomery will be the 3rd or 4th and short back, along with punching it in when in the red zone.
    If it plays out the way that I think it will, montgomery will put up more td's this year but fewer yards. Gibbs will up his yards quite a bit and will have a few more td's all due to higher volume.
    Gibbs is a much more efficient back and the one you want to see in the open field.

Chicago loaded up Keenan Allen is a tremendous player to compliment DJ that's legitimate scary. Green Bay is solid, Minnesota defensively seems to be their weakness. Also the one guy pronouncing Odunze (Oh-Dune-Zay) as “O-Done-Z” 🤦‍♂️ Shesh

      Love will have a mediocre year now that defenses have seen him. Next year they may be in the hunt, but will still have to get by the Lions. And next year Williams will have 1 years experience and be in the hunt if Chicago beefs up the O-line. Still the Lions division to lose. Luck to you because you will need it.

    The bottom .... Minnesota and Chicago are the bottom. They deserve to be there. Two rookie qbs starting, that's not good. Chicago has been bad for years. Shane Waldron is not good.
    The top ... hard not to like the Lions but let's not forget they got boat raced in the 2nd half of the NFCC by a superior team that is better coached, and they'll have a target on their back this year. Always hard to like the Pack but let's not forget the first half of last season or the end of their season.
    If that's your best top to bottom you're not an honest broker of facts. I'd call it unpredictable more than anything. it's fair to say someone will emerge as a threat, probably the lions, maybe the Pack, a chance it will be both but unlikely.

      if you call 3 points getting boat raced. Detroit made to many uncharacteristic mistakes. A dropped pass on 4th down. a fumble on their 20 on a busted play. A stupid penalty on CJG Johnson after a pick and a miracle catch on what should have been an interception .that was the ball game

      We completely revamped our secondary which is why we gave up a huge lead. Solidified the o line and d line we will be better and different from before

      They didn’t get boat raced in the second half. Some bad decisions and bad luck lost that half . What a dumb take
