Glad you’re covering this topic. Most people like the “pros & cons” of all these choices and maybe why you yourself made your own choices based on your own circumstances. Van life is so wide open!
@kohleetakahlah Thank you. Safety can be a touchy subject, especially when you're talking about weapons. I'm a little paranoid, probably watch too many horror movies and serial killer thrillers, so I'm a little extra careful.
I would love a part two indeed. Only thing about guns is laws vary WILDLY from state to state so if you’re going to carry, know what the gun laws are in the state you are vanlifing in. And yeah it can be snatched from you and then what 😩. The bear spray comes in clutch. I’ve used it several times and the person was approximately 15 feet away. Like mace, it shoots far. Totally disabled the person and gave me time to take off.
I am a part-time nomad I go to California. I’m a single woman when I’m not here in Arizona so I have to be careful that I’ve made friends in the Newport area. I have three that I can depend on and keep in touch and they have boats and it’s fun, never meet up. I’ve never done a meet up but I might check out Daina point. I hear there’s a lot of people that came together and cook together and I might try that for a change. I’m getting kind of sick of my routine because I’ve done it for four years now and I’ve done it for three months at a time anyway it’s good to meet you. You’re really nice and that’s good advice. Everything you’re talking about is good advice, I wouldn’t leave my door open because I don’t wanna invite trouble… it’s like an open door….
@susanstebila8707 Most of the time I leave my door open it's for fresh air or the view. But I get what you're saying. Just this morning I was making coffee with my door cracked open for ventilation and some random dude walks up and asks me for a cigarette. WTF? I'm glad you like my content.

@@billyflood2430 Nice! I need me some bear spray. I plan on doing more hiking and backpacking in the future.
