The cornetto sounds like a mix between a soprano saxophone and a fulgelhorn. Beautifully played!
I love cornettos and sackbuts! This is a very sensitive performance.
Much appreiciated Jan!
Wonderful rendition! Cornetts and sackbuts are incredible instruments. What a great team they make! 🎼🎶👏
Absolutely! 👍
What a fabulous sound! Rosalind barnsdale I'll try to hear more.
I was introduced to cornetes and sackbuts through the Early Music Consort of London recordings. Artists like Iaan Wilson, Michael Laird, Alan Lumsden, Andrew Van der Beek, etc.
Beautifully done. It's wonderful to hear the original instruments like this.
Absolutely beautiful! Well done ECSE!
+Russell Gilmour Thanks Russ. Much appreciated. It was great to have you with us in Venezia. Here's hoping we have many l'Orfei together!
Marvelous music. Amazing playing. Thanks

Wonderful instruments. Thank you for posting this.
Very nice. I've added it to my TH-cam "Classical Music" favorites playlist. You are in good company.

Well done, beautiful timbres and an amazing setting!
Belíssimo!!!
Love it! I'd just make that bass sackbut play a little louder.
I ♥ SACKBUT
I had to watch this for home schooling. Or is that just me.

👏
I love the sound of cornettos and sackbuts! Unlike their modern counterparts they are sweet and melodious without being “blasty” or harsh sounding.
Cornets are the closest to the human voice. Bach used them to double soprano parts in some of his canatas.
