    I always enjoy your videos...just found this one and watched with interest. I just bought one of these for my daughter (in college). She wrecked her 2005 Tahoe (I bought it in 07 and gave it to her a few years ago.
    I bought a one owner - actually bought it from the owners - 2006 V8 (Sports Edition) 4x4 with 84K miles - same color in/out as this one. I had to drive 3 hours to get it but it had a great car fax (reg maintenance), extra clean and a southern car (zero rust). Heck they even just paid to have the sunroof serviced - and put in a new motor. I paid 16K - which I originally thought was too much. My mechanic said the car was a great find. They had the car inspected for drivability a couple of weeks ago (before listing) and I called and spoke with the techs that looked over the car. They even said the Timing belt is fine but I'm having it replaced this week.

    V8 Runners rock. I test drove one before I bought a V6 sport. This amount of torque is what the 6th Gen 4Runner needs. That or buy a supercharger and install it.

    Good luck with it Jon. I had a 2003 V8 for 12 years and put 205,000 miles on it. Only work I did on it was pads and rotors, and tried to do regular oil changes but would sometimes go 10-12 k miles in between oil changes. When I let it go it still had the ORIGINAL spark plugs and I am dead serious when I say it ran as good if not better than when I drove it off the lot... you will love that truck more and more as time goes by.

    Nice find! We just purchased a 2008 4runner SR5 sport v8. We had originally started looking at Toyota Corollas and Camrys but decided we didn’t want another car (just retired our 99 Saab 9-3) my husband didn’t think we would be able to find another suv in out price range, so he challenged me. I found it online within 2 minutes and purchased it two days later. We already have an 08 sequoia limited so we knew we were going to love having another Toyota suv.

      Here in New England I have never seen prices on these higher than they are now. At least at dealers. A nice one even with >150k could run as much as $20k. Of course, with the 4th-gen cars it's not really about mileage so much as the condition of the underbody. The later ones seem to command the highest prices but the earliest Gen4 cars that have 4wd and a physical transmission dipstick are also quite prized. People seem to like the Sport Editions most of all; even though they don't come with leather seats like the Limited, many people do prefer the X-REAS suspension (provided it's in good shape) for road use

    Couldn’t find a V8 in my area, don’t really need the extra power for the MPG so I’m settling for a V6. Looking at a 2007 with 189k, it has two accidents but they’re both a decade old. current owner takes care of it, never had any issues and bought it in “immaculate” condition 6 years ago. It does look good. Autocheck gives it an above average rating for it’s condition too. Seeing it in person soon..if she drives smooth, sounds good and the undercarriage is in good shape, I think I’ll send it and hope the damage was minor and not permanent structural damage. Just been looking too long for one I don’t want to miss out on another one.
    My buddy just got his fresh Tacoma TRD pro backed into while it was sitting in his driveway, so now there’s an accident on the record. That’s why I’m giving this one the benefit of the doubt. Thoughts?

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think you are spot on. And use those accidents as leverage too for the price. If the owner has any idea of where they were try to get that info and obviously inspect that area. Just don’t over shoot on price cuz you don’t wanna wait. They right one with come 👍🏼

They were knowingly providing false info on the listing so I backed out. He was a state trooper which surprised me given the sketchiness of the deal. Found a 2007 SR5 4WD a half hour from my house a few days later, deal went through! 168k miles one owner in Washington state its whole life so no rust at all, well taken care of. Stoked!
