With as little space as there is between the tire and the rear swing arm, I can't imagine a chain system fitting. I think these studs should do pretty well. Reduced speed, and easy braking will be necessary!
I used to carry sheet metal screws and a cordless driver, since the screws wore down so fast, I'd take them out and put them in as necessary. Kold Kutters we no better. I'll try the better studs though! Tried to make my own chain once for a KLR, and promptly broke it, wrapping in a most unceremonious way around parts it shouldn't oughta been wrapped.

I wonder if they make chains that fit on motorcycle tires? If so, you might need a set.
