I have a question though, me as an African with limited educational background, but with a self-taught, lifelong learning mindset, inspired by the American culture of hustling and learning. In your opinion how likely I am to get funded for an idea I have and that I'm already building it with Adalo. I know I've given you little information to work with, but my biggest concern when I think about building a startup outside the US with no mentor or a circle of people to guide and support me is to get rejected because I don't have the necessary technical knowledge, or because I'm not a college graduate with a wide network of people that can help. PS: Please be 100% honest with me on this.
I really like the chart of price changes at 13:22. What I see is that everything that had prices gone up is because of regulations/government. That is our problem. What used to be simple and fast to build in the 70’s is now a nightmare of red tape. What we have to fight is the ever increase of government red tape and regulatory capture (like in healthcare). That is why one of the ways to create affordable housing is to use prefab. That bypasses lots of construction unions and regulations, but you still have to find land, and a lot of land is off-limit because of... regulations.
Garry, how do companies typically get in front of you? I've always wondered, especially for those early seed-stage ideas, how are you qualifying/finding them?
Honestly it really helps to move to SF. You have to be there to be there. It’s like Hollywood, you’re not going to be “discovered” in Columbus Ohio…. It’s a crap answer but probably one of the most helpful you’ll ever get. I have been a part of this community for a long time and it is very very much a community.

For inequality, it’s the Peter law. We have to recognize first that we never had poor as rich as they are today. But as our system grow and become more connected the inequality will grow. Crypto will make inequality grow even more, not reduce it. Garry, you are yourself an example of that, what crypto did to your net worth. You will not give away 99% of it, instead, you will invest, make it grow, and increase inequality, and that is fine by me, you will use that capital to push things forward even faster.

The theory is that TH-cam increases the distribution of your channel if you show ads since they make money. It's their platform. We donate the ad revenue, so it goes to a good cause (Code 2040, which helps increase diversity in tech.)

Unless Startups give IPOs ,no one can buy shares from them outside of company

@@chan90s Yes EquityZen, theres also Secondmarket and many more. Not familiar with the requirements as im not in that business. Worst case is go with what Hola Qutal suggested.

1. i am too cheap to pay for youtube adfree version 2. i am not an expert in marketing/"on brand" strategy... i find ads in your video a bit disconcerting (subway sandwich commercial?!!). do u use the youtube money to defray the cost of running the channel? curious to know your thoughts on this
The theory is that TH-cam increases the distribution of your channel if you show ads since they make money. It's their platform. We donate the ad revenue, so it goes to a good cause (Code 2040, which helps increase diversity in tech.)
