If u had observed the ending carefully u must have noticed that everything they showed at the end had its own purpose for example ryuk sitting at top of the tower showing that he is the only true God and on the other hand light dieng on the middle of the stairs showed that he died in the way of becoming a god and will end up in between the hell and the heaven.And aslo the focus on the moon at last was to show that yagami(moon) reached the top among the human
