Rs, the reason I have a 06 tib is i was going for a Mazdaspeed also as a daily driver and the dealership tried to hide it was a lemon so I ended up with the Tibby instead, lol. 😎👍
I had a Tiburon until recently. The only thing that impacted its daily drivability for me was the low head room. I have neck issues from surgery that make it necessary for me to sit straight up when driving, and the Tiburon doesn't really allow that kind of seating position. Aside from that, it is a lot of sports car for only a little money. I used to take it up to the mountains a lot to drive around. With a good set of tires it is very very capable, and the excellent mid-range torque of the engine lets you exit corners really aggressively, which is really satisfying.

I bought mine for $3500 becus I have an Evo 8 but found a '06 for a good price as a daily beater and im stuk more on my Tib than the evo. I was going to get a civic or an corolla as a beater till I came across the Tib.👍😉

Its fwd and slow thats why it flopped and also the people that have them are cheap af and mostly ricers the only thing this car has going for itslef is its price looks and reability i have one btw

The fact of the matter is the the Tiburon wasn't popular in the first place because of its brand name at the time "Hyundai". Back when the Tiburon came out no real turner wanted anything to do with Hyundai. Effectively nowadays a lot people in the turner world to my surprise have never seen a Tiburon and ask me what my car is. But I do agree that people who did buy them were cheap

I've really been looking at getting an Automatic V6 Tiburon as my first car purchase since I plan to give my 2000 Saturn L-S to my younger brother. My car enthusiast friends all push me to get a faster car and don't believe it's reliable since it's Hyundai. But it's a car I really love the look of. And honestly that's mainly what I want out of my daily driver, something that doesn't look like a granny car and with decent reliability/cheap maintenance. Since I'm trying not to spend too much money I'm also no really looking to extensive modding just maybe getting headers and an catback exhast to to make it sound better and a few cosmetic pieces for looks. And also a tune of course to go with the headers and exhaust, which seems harder to find but hopefully not impossible.

I just want to break people's necks with a KDM and have people not even know what kind of car it is, and unfortunately gc's are super common in my area. Ya forgot to mention the door handles blow. Head lights OE are 600 a pop so u have to go aftermarket. Other then that we almost have the same tibby. Ya got my sub

Tibby owner here, GT V6 6MT, have a few mods done as far as I/H/E, STG2 Clutch and lightweight flywheel, with a short throw shifter. Not much but def makes a difference with the v6 power. I have like 2 videos so feel free to check em out lol. I always look for new tib videos and it's good to see people still love and make them. I have a 06 SE minor mods done currently making 170 whp not much but it's a fun daily compared to my truck. Low maintenance and 180k so far on the factory clutch
Just purchased a red 2004 Tiburon..Auto V6 sunroof 99,000 miles...I really like it! Sporty and tight! Plan on polishing it up and holding on to it... I also have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6 138,000 miles..My experience with Hyundai has been excellent! Reliable and trouble free!

My 2003 6 speed GT V6 is "unleashed" (CAI, headers, straight pipe, catback, 290cc injectors, and running on E85), and it's so not the same car to drive 😁 Plus, with FL1's (2005) front conversion, and FL2's (2008) back, 19" rims, tan interior, all electronics converted to 2008's, and a veloster steering wheel, great stereo and 7" touchscreen... It's a head turner inside and out! I always feel like a king every time I'm driving it 🥰

the bumper process is tedious but its definitely super easy, the lifter tick is pretty common but mine is just ridiculously loud because of my exhaust leak. and yes! love LED lights. I know its a late reply lol
Yours may not be quick but mine has the 2.7 gt with after market headers, exhaust and intake with cold air and I'm getting 0-60 in 5 seconds and I have not even put a turbo on it yet.

It's not that slow.. 141 mph straight line, 148mph on a slight decline and 138 mph with one passager and the car full of stuff with seats folded down... It just takes a while to get there.. Btw this is with the 4 cylinder 2L engine, bone stock, not even a farty exhaust. Got a 2007 one, love it! 👌

Switched from my Rusty Acura Integra 2000 to a Tiburon 2008 GT. Let's just say the Tiburon is my beater car. So far, seems reliable enough and I don't have to mod it really. It feels like a car that you would use to drive around for an hour long trip and back. I miss the 90's simple feel though. There's nothing like being able to feel your car.
Jake Dubs true that. and yes bro~ it’s a 3 hour drive to go visit my friends in the next city over, but I love the cruise. setup for my car is pretty loud but it’s very low droning at highway speeds so it doesn’t bother me for trips either

I'm exited to take long trips and I also picked up an after market stereo (oem didn't have aux). Do you think you could take an inter-state road trip 15 hours long every year in it and feel comfortable?
What sucks is that the modernish Hondas/Toyotas of the 2000's all have that bulky power frame to them. It feels like your in a big truck that can demolish anything vs feeling tight and very much in control and aware of your surroundings. You can't really get attached to them like you did with a 1997 honda accord. So for that I'd rather have a stylish Tiburon just to get a couple of glares and not have everyone think that I'm broke. It's kind of relieving to not get attached that much. I don't have to force myself to buy expensive parts or make hard decisions. I won't worry if I get a scratch or two. I mean literally at the end of the day it's a Hyundai. lol. And btw yours does very much look like a tesla or a bentley
yes bro preach. i resurrected a 3g eclipse and same vibes. compared to newer cars its a great and fun dailly driver. if fab skills are up there, lots of junkyard conversions for awd and rwd options.
Still have my red 2003 GT with under 60k miles on motor. cold air intake and KORE racing exhaust and strut supports front and back. have had a few offers have turned them all down.
You was talking good until you said the 4 banger was a bad choice 1 it’s cast iron block and 2 it can handle boost very well and is not to difficult to turbo if your really mechanically inclined witch you don’t seem to be this is 2 years ago video they been doing the evo 8/9set up for 10 years before you made this video
For the amount that you're spending, there's really no point in picking up the 4 cylinder. v6 is pretty cost efficient and durable enough for a good daily that you don't plan on putting work into.
@@vDikChocolate it's Hana aftermarket. Had a tibby years back but had the old version which already looked a bit like the Hana. Always wanted the M&S front lip and skirts for that.
@@vDikChocolate so pretty sure this is 2007 onwards. In terms of where to source it's tricky and it depends where you live. Importshark used to be one of the best places but helps if your based in USA for that.
I had an 05 with a few upgrades and it wasnt slow To me the biggest few draw backs 1. Fwd 2. Skip the 4cyl you get the same mileage almost as the v6 3. Aftermarket does suck 4. Certain part arent cheap Other than that i miss my car (A friend wrecked mines😣😖😒)
@@Vonnyceo kind of makes sense... Since all the parts for the car are more than likely discontinued, and rare to find in good condition. The tib with the ngm supercharger is where it really shines. Had one of the superchargers on my 2005 v6 Tucson, same motor as the tib, and it was also awd. Hooked really well considering that. Miss that car.

Mine had headers, exhaust/CAI as well but I’m just comparing it to most modern cars. Wasn’t a big fan of the performance on my 2.7
Recently installed a vafc. Used some low tuning to learn how to use it and all I have to say. It's no slow car

I had a 2007 . Stock engine some quick mods. Spend less then 1,000 it was as fast as a g37 and a 370z. It sure did surprise people..

Switched from my Rusty Acura Integra 2000 to a Tiburon 2008 GT. Let's just say the Tiburon is my beater car. So far, seems reliable enough and I don't have to mod it really. It feels like a car that you would use to drive around for an hour long trip and back. I miss the 90's simple feel though. There's nothing like being able to feel your car.
Jake Dubs true that. and yes bro~ it’s a 3 hour drive to go visit my friends in the next city over, but I love the cruise. setup for my car is pretty loud but it’s very low droning at highway speeds so it doesn’t bother me for trips either
@@Vonnyceo Just bought mine on Friday. Previous owner had cancer. I picked it up for $2,500 but I have an exhaust leak. Lol it sounds so powerful at the moment. Think I should let it ride. I'm exited to take long trips and I also picked up an after market stereo (oem didn't have aux). Do you think you could take an inter-state road trip 15 hours long every year in it and feel comfortable?
What sucks is that the modernish Hondas/Toyotas of the 2000's all have that bulky power frame to them. It feels like your in a big truck that can demolish anything vs feeling tight and very much in control and aware of your surroundings. You can't really get attached to them like you did with a 1997 honda accord. So for that I'd rather have a stylish Tiburon just to get a couple of glares and not have everyone think that I'm broke. It's kind of relieving to not get attached that much. I don't have to force myself to buy expensive parts or make hard decisions. I won't worry if I get a scratch or two. I mean literally at the end of the day it's a Hyundai. lol. And btw yours does very much look like a tesla or a bentley

Still have my red 2003 GT with under 60k miles on motor. cold air intake and KORE racing exhaust and strut supports front and back. have had a few offers have turned them all down.
I just got a 07 tiburon Gt V6 with 123,000 miles should I get a new timing belt on it ? It runs fine

You was talking good until you said the 4 banger was a bad choice 1 it’s cast iron block and 2 it can handle boost very well and is not to difficult to turbo if your really mechanically inclined witch you don’t seem to be this is 2 years ago video they been doing the evo 8/9set up for 10 years before you made this video
For the amount that you're spending, there's really no point in picking up the 4 cylinder. v6 is pretty cost efficient and durable enough for a good daily that you don't plan on putting work into.
if it was about doing a turbo build on the tiburon, i would've definitely talked about the 4 cylinder as a better platform brotha

@@vDikChocolate it's Hana aftermarket. Had a tibby years back but had the old version which already looked a bit like the Hana. Always wanted the M&S front lip and skirts for that.

@@vDikChocolate so pretty sure this is 2007 onwards. In terms of where to source it's tricky and it depends where you live. Importshark used to be one of the best places but helps if your based in USA for that.

I had a sick lil tiburon. Hes right. They look sporty. They have good gas mileage. They are slow
I had an 05 with a few upgrades and it wasnt slow
To me the biggest few draw backs
1. Fwd
2. Skip the 4cyl you get the same mileage almost as the v6
3. Aftermarket does suck
4. Certain part arent cheap
Other than that i miss my car

@@Vonnyceo kind of makes sense... Since all the parts for the car are more than likely discontinued, and rare to find in good condition. The tib with the ngm supercharger is where it really shines. Had one of the superchargers on my 2005 v6 Tucson, same motor as the tib, and it was also awd. Hooked really well considering that. Miss that car.
Now i drive a 260whp 2019 elantra gt n line. Only took a tune and a few bolt ons to get there. Times have changed for sure
