If it is between 7:01 and 8:00 display a 2. If it is between 8:01 and 9?:00 display a 3. What I cannot seem to figure out is the 3 condition. I can figure out how to do 2 of them but not the third. So each month has it's own expenses in different column. Is there a way to get a sum for a specific expense, let say (GAS)? I would really appreciate it if you could help me. Other wise the way I do it now I get a sum for each month and then add up all those numbers to get a sum of all. That's taking a long time to put the same equation for each month over and over again. =SUMIF(A3:A25,"*"&AI5&"*",B3:B25)+SUMIF(C3:C25,"*"&AI5&"*",D3:D25) - this is what I use. but I have to do it for 12 months. Is there a shortcut for achieving the same result?
Wonderful video! I am not sure, but this may be the answer to what I am trying to create. I am trying a somewhat unique way of laying out an Excel checkbook register. I would like both my debits and credits in a single column and have the values in that column automatically format to negative or positive depending on the transaction type. I would have a transaction type column with a drop-down of Withdrawal, Deposit, Transfer_Out, Transfer_In. The Deposits and Transfer_In would be positive; and the Withdrawals and Transfer_Out would be negative. There is also a running balance column. I could e-mail you a sample file if there is a way to build this. Many Thanks in Advance!

Why do you use the addition symbol and not the equals symbol at the start of your formula?
