Though he was born to former slaves he became Great to create Black History week as the month of February, and to become The Father of Black History, through the writing of the Diaspora of Africans being removed from their homeland. Thank you for sharing this is so needed for all mankind
Great video! What a fascinating and impressive figure. Interesting to hear how West Virginia played a role in the events of his life. History is very important and equally so are the people who tell those stories, document that history and promote the learning of it. History isn't known unless it's told and historians like Dr. Woodson are instrumental in that. I love hearing about historical events, but I think people and biography style documentaries are what interest me most - so this was a very good episode. Nicely done!
I agree. People are really what makes history important and I think also makes it relatable and interesting. We will have a couple more biographical episodes before the first season ends.
@appalachian oddity I agree....I luv biography style documentaries. I watch "ALOT" of documentaries on amazon....netflix....hulu..n youtube. I'm ADHD so its hard for me to sit still long enuff to watch anything bt wen it comes to certain documentaries...I NVR have any problems.
