Great Video , thanks for all the help so far my 4l60e is holding up fine same setup as the video here , high frictions, corvette servo , wide band all pinless accumulators, , transgo shift kit, sonnax boost valve and shell, 7 clutch setup on 3-4 ,
Thanks, lysawy82! Appreciate it, man. I'm really liking the 4L65E stack up...I've also been using #4 apply rings from late 700R4s to give me between .028-.035 clearance...Combine that with either load release springs or Transgo's high rate springs, you can't lose!
Glad the procedure worked for you. I have found it to be quick and painless, removing those. 👍 And congratulations on getting the name pronunciation correct. Few do. Lol
Thanks, Larry. I know the feeling with respect to the last name...Very, very few people get the pronunciation of my last name correct on the first try, haha.
Nick I really enjoy your video. I’ve gone from always having some one build my transmissions to now crossing over into building my next trans. 07-08. I found a core for the Bronco swap. Wish you had a build list with links at the end of your video. Yes that’s me being lazy. Il bring Coffee over soon as I can walk and drive again.
Thanks for the kind words, Scott! Glad you are going to be rebuilding your transmission, man. I will be publishing a 4L60E build strategy video for 375-500HP applications later this week or early next week so watch for it as it has all the parts that I'd recommend installing in such an application. So if your build profile (engine power, usage pattern, etc) somewhat resembles that, you can use that list.
Love the videos! As far as valve body interchange, I have been told that I could use my spare 94 or 95 60es in a 96 up application if I blocked the 2-3 and 3-2 valves and turned off any DTCs that came up. Since this was a 95 valve body I am curious if the valves were blocked and did it have 95 or 96 solenoids.
Thanks for the kind words, Rust_Hoader_Garage! I haven't pulled that 95 valve body apart so don't know if the 3-2 control valve is blocked but blocking that along with the 3-2 down shift valve would convert the circuit to a pure on-off vs PWM. The installed 3-2 solenoid is for a 1993-95. I have read you can block the 2-3 shift valve as well but never done it myself - no changes were made to that valve train from 1993-2013 (end of 4L60E production).
There were three separate problems in that drum: 1) The forward drum wasn't cracked, it was leaking at the 3-4 apply circuit between the drum and the shaft... 2) The forward piston burnt up which caused the forward and coast clutch to burn 3) The forward piston housing was also worn and that also contributed to the failure), as all stated in the video
@@nickstransmissions yeah I posted a little too early, next time I'll watch the whole video then comment, lol Great video!!!! Now I know what to look for in my 4L60e build, when is the rebuild part of this 4l60E??
All good man. I'll be publishing a strategy video on the parts selected plus a host of other topical videos on this particular unit this week into early next.

Great video and advice ;)
Thanks, KrazyKaycee!
Thanks 😊
Thank you for watching, Wilburn!

ok, So the forward drum is cracked that effects the whole drum 3-4 clutch to burn up!!??
