This is so confusing to me (me and math don't go well together), definitely got to try to get my hands on your book - thank you for making sure your horses don't get overloaded/overworked and advocating it.
Your horses are absolutely adorable! And they seem very loved and playful meaning you guys take great care of them! What kind of horses are they? I’m just beginning to ride and learn about horses in the hopes of having a couple in the future. My first goal is going to be to lose weight as I’m much heavier than I’ve ever been and would never want a horse to suffer just so I can ride. I’m about 205lbs right now in my mid forties but my usual weight was always around 145lbs (thank you menopause 😂). Do you think I’m too heavy to ride a 1200lb horse right now?
I have a 11.3 gypsy x shetland, I worked out 780lb÷7in=97.5÷2=48... does that work our as being to much for her to carry? If she had the body score of 5?
@BeprofessionalLookcool yes including tack which is on the lighter side given its pony sized :) saddle, pad, and bridle. She is for my kids, and i don't intend to ride her often just short schooling
Based on these calculations I’m coming out as 60 absolutely fine for my small cob to carry me.. but her cannon bone is 8 inch % wise I’m coming up as 21.5%

Excellent education 👍
I’ve applied this to my Marcha horse, and it resulted 68,2. But I guess Criollos are considered ponies by international standards.

Did you add all of your weight inc tac?

And thats why its a great formula!!! Now you know ETHICALLY you are good! It doesn't surprise me to see a number like that at all.
