    You're very beautiful! I just want to point out that you have warm undertones in your skin and that's why the muted colours are flattering on you. People with cool undertones in their skin can carry that cool red easily and look sophisticated and "expensive". That mustard yellow would make a cool skin tone look dull and ill. It's all about knowing your colours and wearing clothes cut to your shape.

      @dscjmc6513 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lulame Azele what colors would you recommend for a medium light skin tone (nc25 in Mac) with warm undertones? I feel I’m warm but the warm colors don’t look good on me. But “cool/jewelry colors” look better. ??

    Not only are you so incredibly talented and gifted with your sense of style but you're also an incredible teacher. I'm sitting here amazed at how you planned and put together this whole video. I can tell you put A LOT of work and thought into this... but at the same time you get straight to the point and keep it simple. Your style says so much about you - your personality is just as beautiful as your style if not even 10x more beautiful. You are classy, you think things through, you care, you genuinely love to help people, and you do it all so well. I am so glad I found you on TikTok, it led me to following you on all socials haha! And I showed my sister and mother in law and they followed you too. We can't get over your timeless looks! So glad you are getting the audience you deserve... and I pray you get more!! Thank you for putting so much time into this, I've never sat through an entire video and learned so much about a subject in such short amount of time. I'm 26 and finally finding myself and my own style now thanks to you. I used to think I had to wear provocative or bright colored clothes to look good lol. Thank you for the clothing rack of examples! you're killing it!! Thank you for starting a TH-cam channel, I pray you reach hundreds of millions of women.

      IF you are very light hair, skin, eyes with little contrast, all light, pastel, or dulled down light color is going to wash you out! You will disappear. Youmwont look upscale youmwill look boring and dull.

    One thing to take into consideration is that not everyone looks good in the same colours. That bright yellow works well on me (it works with the undertones of my skin and hair), but that mustard yellow makes me look ill. The dusty pinks, peaches and greens on the neutral side aren't universally flattering either, so knowing your best shades is also a very useful tool when chosing items of clothing.

    Naomi, solids are perfect, simplistic pieces are the right way to go. I agree with you. I recently went back through my closet and I noticed everything I wear is solid or with classier details. Though I am loving tiny polka dots. Great tips🌼

    Great advice, why does everyone feel like they can have something to say about what she is saying. She has the experience and she wants to key you all in what it is. In your mind it's doesn't work for you but you have never tired it. Everybody sees beauty different but she is top notch.

    Really nice points! Also I think it's related to the way you talk and your tone, which also make you look expensive. Not rush you at all, everything just comes out smoothly when you're talking. Confident and briefly.

    I think this is great examples of how to dress.. she’s not saying wear these exact clothes.. she’s talking about looking expensive- like you bought designer clothing, expensive clothes.. Some of her videos lead right up to this one... also she is wearing red on her nails- classic ..like umm classy. Classic clothes are classy clothes.. they work for years.. Some prints are necessary.. she will point that out in other videos.. I think prints can either elevate your look or bring it to the ground.lol Oh , prints can hide some figure flaws too.. I think the comments are opinions of women who love to dress, everyone will learn somethings, maybe test things out

    I would wear that bright red blazer with a nautical style maxi dress (navy blue and white) in the Summer, and in the Winter with a black outfit for a splash of color. 😊

    This is a really excellent, informative video. Thank you so much for posting this. I am a college student, and while I do understand where people who are upset about the pieces you linked are coming from, you can always find similar pieces that are less expensive. If I were in your position, I wouldn't recommend brands that I'm not familiar with or encourage people to shop items that won't hold up over time. I think that the pieces you post are great finds because while they are pricey, you're able to get A LOT of wear out of them.

      Kayla Bullard hey I'm a doctor so on my feet all day too! I have managed to find some flat pumps or very slight wedge pumps that look really pretty but are still comfy. I would say Clarks, French Sole or Dune are the best. I'm UK based xx

      I always find that a pointy toe slingback elongates and does the job a pointy toe heel would, but in a flat version and a slingback won't hurt the back of your ankles as much. Here are some options

      Kayla Bullard pick a thicker heel. Even in scrappy heels Block or cylinder heels work well and still are shiek looking. Also insoles!! I work on my feet and these tips work for me. Would love to hear Naomi's opinion as well🙏🏽

      I had a similar thought when I watched the video---her complexion and coloring lends itself to soft warm neutrals...she shouldn't wear the red blazer because it's not a good color for her, not because it looks "inexpensive." I am a bright Winter, and I would look terrible in all of her selections.

    • @iracelmafonseca8113
      @iracelmafonseca8113 7 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I thought the same. I am black mixed and my skin tone just pops and looks very expensive in more cool toned colours, such as bright white, a cool toned red or even a more cool toned "pinkish" nude etc... Warms tones like most of the ones shown make me look dull ( Think mum's nude underwear effect :p ) I think colour matching is quite down to the individual as long as the fabric are of good quality, nice fitted and not overdone ( I think most of times one bright colours in a quite plain outfit goes a long way). I still loved the video and the tips were great,only adapting to the colours that suit me better.Love her videos!!

      @forever young: but she said the yellow one wasn't good. She went for the darker colour :( Good yellow fabrics really look good on dark skin tones :) I think her videos are good but this one somewhat missed the mark. One would need to look exactly like her or somewhat close to her for her colour choices to fit the person :(

    Love it from the beginning to the end. I'm personal branding designer and your tips are amazing and super helpful. High quality clothes are "investments" and you need to be wise and careful to pick timeless pieces to make sure that you can wear them years and years. By the other hand Zara, h&m, assos, sphera and other brands yes you can't by for less than $20 but come on you can't look expensive and high end if you buy cheap clothes, the material and finishing are going to scream cheap. You need to know how to buy and educate your eye to catch that good deal in stores and buy items that look great with less money but you need to know if you want to look expensive you need to invest in yourself. Thanks for this video and love love love the way you communicate with clothes and your style puf! On point 😘👌👍

    Hi Naomi I practice the walk away tip all the time and if I keep thinking about it and regret leaving it behind I know I won't go wrong going back to buy it! In fact, my most worn clothing items are those that I walked away from and had to go back and buy! Although rarely I've regretted not getting some because when I went back they were gone, but I rather do that than to buy something I never wear. That bothers me more!

      Anj Dhir I think what she meant was there's no US stores. ASOS has actually stores in some other countries

    Great video! I love your channel so much. I've been dying over that Aritzia duster but it's $300 in Canada. Hopefully it will go on sale.

    That black leather jacket cost $500 ? That's $100,000 in my country and can buy so many things.

    Sorry, I disagree with much of what was said and feel that other super important suggestions like finding a good tailor (tailoring is key to looking expensive) and ensuring clothing is clean and pressed were left out. I feel like everything other than the trench and moto jacket are so cookie cutter. Every girl on IG is wearing the same long wavy hair and nude lipstick, with the same blazer and Jimmy Choos nude pumps. IMO one CAN wear patterns and color and still look expensive - and like an individual. And I ❤ red lipstick - the most classic lip color ever! This video might have been better titled shopping for basics while on a budget, but even many of those items were omitted.

      I could not agree with you more. I think to look more expensive, the first three must haves are: confidence in your own body, healthy lifestyle and tailoring. I find most of the TH-camrs on fashion are almost identical. Now you can argue that is because what they are saying is truth, or it is just dictated by whatever Instagram people are doing. For example, neutrals are very challenging for Asian skin tones, you either look washed out or have no clothes on. Pastels of anything is not full-proof either. I would love to see people have content that is more original and unique. Not to discredit the value in this video, but I honestly can't keep track who said what because 9 out of 10 points are exactly the same.
