I can't even handle this performance. I don't know how many times I've listened to it, but it's a lot. This is a textbook example of vocal technique and phrasing. Perfection. And for a kid, he has a solid handle on dynamics and when/how to back off and when to just let it loose. Flawlessness. Every once in awhile, it'll just start playing in my head, and I'll have to go find the video and play it a bunch of times.
Billy Gilman has great control in his voice and excellent stage presence along with outstanding confidence singing in front of the King of Pop. It brought MJ to tears. Awesome performance of Ben. The best I’ve ever heard next to the king himself.

Billy stopped singing while his voice chhanged, came back better than ever, as I read. I learned about Billy when I watched he & Charlotte Church singing together & found them singing same song on the Jay Leno Show (It was better than the first time (they were in a studio).
What a great singer he was at only 12 years old. I was so excited when I recognized him on The Voice. I'm glad he's able to share his music with a new audience. For me, the competition is over. Billy Gilman is The Voice 2016.
Billy knocked this out of the park-that belting at 1:27-probably the best thing in this show. Great enough that I never forgot his name-rooting for him on the Voice now.

Although Billy did a fantastic job, you don't hear many adults singing this, because it does not matter how well it's sung, a requires child like demeanor that gives this song true life and emotion, without obnoxious runs and so forth that adults tend to put into a song...The bottom line is, this is a fantastic rendition sung by a very talented boy (at the time).....Now he's all grown up, now a 27 year old man... :)

This performance was the first one I saw of him, it blew my mind how perfect and similar to Michale's his voice was. Then I bought all his then existing music, I've followed him and kept all his music in my ipod ever since and though he wasn't completely vanished (he kept releasing independent singles and uploading gig videos in his youtube channel) I had no idea he was auditioning for the voice (big fan of the show as well) it was a total surprise when I saw him there and while listening to him I couldn't help but cry, I got super emotional to see him perform live for such a big audience again with the humbleness, emotion and will to begin climbing from scratch right to the top once again. Incredible how easy a lot of people forgot about him but so happy to see so many people are discovering his great talent thanks to his appearance on the show, he's building a whole new fan base and making us, all time fans, super proud and happy.

I've always been a HUGE MJ fan and I am so impressed with the way Billy Gilman performed "Ben!" Billy sang this song with such beautiful emotion and expression! And Billy's vocal tone is stellar and angelic! He has such control of his voice and yet it sounds so free. Especially 1:19 where he sings "Listen" and then really goes for it with such power and passion! Wow! He is amazing! I love how we can see how much MJ and Elizabeth Taylor and the audience appreciated and applauded Billy's performance! I have this as track #1 on a compilation CD with Michael's version as track #2 and I love them both! :-)

He did kill it. Actually, when I listen to this without watching the video, it's hard to not think it's a young Michael Jackson singing this. He sounds almost exactly the same.
I wonder if he could do an adult version of Michael, now. Michael's adult voice was pretty unique, so probably not. But it would be interesting to see him try it now.

After he sang the part about "I don't listen to anything they say," when he starts the next verse, there is a loud noise - I'm kinda hard of hearing, but, wondering if that's the audience going crazy with how he sings it - I loved it!!!
