Samong, listen man… this is one of your finest videos. I know that might surprise you because you have put out some incredible videos with insane footage. You’ve captured the kill shot on so many of your adventures and this one wasn’t all the way as you would have liked it (I’m sure). But what makes this one so unique and special is how the elk was celebrated, distributed and shared evenly among family members. I know you have mentioned doing that in previous videos, but to show the care and concern you put into dividing up the meat was so fantastic to see. I’m grateful for your example and for your commitment to your family. Well done. Congratulations man. Another very fine trophy indeed.
Thanks, Bryce! It's reassuring to hear that people actually enjoy watching what happens after the elk is down. I've always thought nothing of it until more and more people started to show interest in it. Glad to hear it! I appreciate you man!
Absolutely, I enjoy the hunt ,the packing out , the camp ,the cooking of the elk basically the whole experience. Thank you enjoy these times with your family and friends
Hell of a season Samong. Can’t believe no one from the road offered to help you. That would not have happened with the people I hunt with. We would have come and helped you. Congrats on a great year 👊.
Well, you see hunting with people you know. Samong was solo. That's apples to oranges. He mentioned theft in the woods; totally true, yes. That's exactly why you don't help people. When you ask someone if they need help, they will most likely say 'no'. They don't know you, they don't know if you are then going to ask for compensation (meat) for the trouble. When hunting, you are expected to kill, field dress, pack out your meat yourself. You saw in the video, Samong had a hard time getting out. Yes, he NEEDS to do it himself. He killed the elk, he takes it out. If he gets family or friends to help, perfect. It's the same courtesy when you hunt with someone else. It is very common if they drove you, they expect compensation. Does that happen often, yes. Do you HAVE to? Well, not really but it's apart of the sport...
My husband and I just LOVE you. The highlight of our day is knowing you’ve published another video. Beautiful bull. As a western Washington hunter, I’m kinda jealous right now. I’m not gonna lie. 😂
The Westside struggle is real! The "I have no idea what I got myself into" comment made me laugh outloud. Great video. I'm glad you showed yourself busting the brush. I'm a western Washington hunter and our brush is the same way. The blackberry bushes will leave scars for life.
Dang Samong, what a career year man!! You have taken some beautiful animals this year , congratulations! You might’ve stumbled on this one, but you show us all how much work you put in ! You are quickly jumping the ranks of You Tube hunters bro!!
Hell of a job Samong and one of the best self filmed elk hunts I've seen. I'm 87 and I struggled with you thru all the blackberries feeling them biting into my legs. Well done this season son! Praise the LORD for his rewards and I know you do.
That Pho looked amazing, great video and congrats on the bull. Thanks for showing what happens after the kill, I know lots of hunting channels don’t but I enjoy that part almost as much as the actual hunting.
Well Samong, I can see that you will not starve to death this winter! Holy smokes, two bulls, deer, turkey, grouse, fish. Your freezer must be looking pretty good! And you know you deserve all of that goodness as you work hard for it. Congratulations and a year full of great memories.
Good job brother thank you for sharing the way you do. Your videos have depth and meaning. Whether the hunt is arduous or quick and easy. The lessons are there to be learned. The memories last forever great video. Thank you for sharing.
Pack a pair of pruning shears with you to trip the worst thorns and face scratching bushes and mark your trail so you don;t break a new trail every trip.
Couldn’t have a better season than that. All that road traffic and nobody volunteers to help you. Where I’m from we help each other out. Congratulations
Congratulations!! Your honesty is such a breath of fresh air in the hunting world! I hunt not to far from that area...so I keep a nice machete in my truck, with a flat file, just so I can "carve out" a path for packing. Your Washington bull, now this one! What a year!!
I want eat at your elk camp. After recently returning from 4 years in Thailand a great bowl of noodles and especially laap are things I crave. Great video keep on with your journey.
You are rocking it this season! Well done! I enjoy the fact , you share the game evenly with family members. We do the same, family is everything. So much satisfaction in providing. Best wishes on future hunts.
That pho looks absolutely delicious great job samong, keep up the great videos, I Discovered your videos about a month ago wishing it was turkey season. Absolutely love your videos and keep up the good work✝️💪👍
I've really enjoyed your channel since I found it. I love how you take to time to describe what's happening too, even a non hunter could understand what's going on
Love the fact that you guys celebrate the kill and split the meat with family members / hunting partners. Me and my hunting partner have always split our harvest to make sure we always have clean meat in our freezers. Love your videos and hunts.
Samong you are a great woodsman and a lucky man. Been hunting elk here in Washington myself for 30 odd years and haven't even been presented a shot. Both bulls are beautiful. Keep going and pass it on.
Awesome film! It is great to see a family hunt. One persons success is the camps success. That’s how I was brought up also. I knew it was not going to easy as you thought from the beginning. Both man and beast left blood on the mountain. Thank you for showing that part of the hunt. Amazing season for you. God bless and now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Nice job man. Thanks for sharing how you guys cook at camp after everything. I enjoy getting a little glimpse of your family’s culture as well. Fellow Washington hunter, good job.
Samong, That Pho is probably one of the best camp meals I have seen somebody prepare. I want some! Can't wait for the next video. Keep up the good work!
I just started watching your videos a couple days ago and I've been addicted ever since. You post quality videos and give knowledgeable notes to anyone that watches. Glad you could get this bull down and hope you can get many more. Great hunting !!!
Roosevelt elk game trails... virtually non existent hahah man that pnw coastal packout is forrrreal. I was anxious just watching it and i wasn't even there! Nice hunt Samong. Proud of you
Yep that's elk hunting in Oregon lol all fun and games till its time to pack it out I remember those days I grew up on the coast and packed out a few elk over the years dang I miss it good on ya dude for the great harvest
Congratulations Samong. What a year, a Rosie in Oregon and Rocky in Washington. Definitely blessed. I know several people hunting coast elk in Oregon that hunted the whole season and never saw a legal bull. Those gift bulls are sure nice from time to time.
Well im gonna sound like a broken record haha. What a season uve had. Im jealous to say the least. Not so much with that pack out though. That brush looked like hell. Glad u kept that footage in the video for everyone to see. Like many have said I also love that u and ur family still hunt together and think its so cool the way yall split up the meat and how much detail u put into taking every bit of the harvest home with u. Shows how much respect u have for ur harvest. I hunt alone every year now days. My family dont get together like they used to and my kiddos dont enjoy it like i do so i miss all that deeply so its cool to see u and ur family keeping up those traditions. Lil jealous there also i must say. But looks like u made a great purchase with that new rifle. Its shooting well for u to say the least. Been fun watching ur videos this season but ive enjoyed ur videos since u started putting them out. Always been a pleasure to watch them so thanks for taking us along with ya. Ull get them kill shots in there soon enough im sure of it hahaha. As someone else said in the comments ur making ur way to the top of my list in the TH-cam hunting world. Keep up the hard work, uve done a great job thus far! Congrats on an amazing 2022 season!
Skill is important, luck is a gift. You had both congratulations. That's a great Bull. I've watched a lot of your videos and you normally work hard to score. I'd say fate owed you an easy one.
Kudos on that effort and pack out, i tend to stick to deer and usually pack out/drag out whole as much as possible, the satisfaction when you arrive back to your rig with your animal is always amazing loved this one
Good job bud, I've felt your pain I grew up in the Ore coast range doing exactly what you had to do, the only thing blackberries are good for is in a pie.Great hunt
That was fantastic! It's nice to get an easy one, once in a while. I've never had "larb" , however you spell it, but it looked delish, I would love to try some. God is good. Love your videos!!
First off, new subscriber here, love your channel… I have a couple questions about this hunt. 1. Why 6.5 PRC on an animal as large as an elk? 2. Why leave gamebags full of meat on the ground, instead of hanging from a tree, or something to allow airflow all the way around, since they were left overnight? Keep up the great filming and commentary!
Awesome job, glad to hear someone not afraid to give God the glory! By sharing meat with the family, that shows how strong of a family bond you have! Stay safe and God bless
Congratulations, Samong! "I can't believe it," you say? I can! You put yourself in a good area. You spotted him. How many drove right by without seeing him? After how hard you work at hunting, you were due for some luck. Awesome!
I hunt the Washington coast for elk. Pruners are great to have! Tons of hellacious (but also medicinal) stinging nettle. There's a reason most rational people head eastward! Haha
Great job on the elk! Totally jealous it came so easy but happy for you! Very cool having family there to enjoy the experience with you as well. Great content and filming. Keep up the solid work!
Hunting success is not that you drove that road or walked that hillside, it's that you drove that road or walked that hillside at the right moment. So there is a lot of luck that comes into play. I got lucky on a nice Blacktail this year in the same way.
Samong, looks like the stars aligned for you!!! Congrats on a beautiful harvest. That reminds me of the ole sayin that goes something like this, "If you hunt, and want to harvest, you have to spend lots of time in the woods". You can dream of getting game, but if you don't get out there, you end up with just a dream. Great video so far. Have a great Holiday Season to you, and yours. Man, what an elk, looks like you, and all the family will have a full freezer when that one is cut up!!!!!!!!!
Can’t wait to see some more from you maybe some winter trout slams or perch . Just hit the lake here in North Western Idaho and caught a few pan fryers for the skillet!
I'm on the fence for either the savage ultralite in 7prc or the browning x bolt speed ...I know you have both which would you say...I have several brownings but not gonna lie savage pre sold me with the proof barrel
What a year, Congratulations Samong.. That is awesome!!! The best way to battle stickers is to beat a path with a heavy duty green stick, Hard to do alone for sure, But they’re evil.
way to go man....that was an easy one for you, but now the work begins......CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! you deserved a little easier one especially after all the HARD times you've had previously....RIGHT ON!
Nice elk. How do you have your rifle attached here K 4 bag and do you like it? I have a k4 and I have the quick release rifle holder mine attaches up top and can be tricky to get off. Yours looks easy to get out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Nice elk !!! I used to work at a resort near Granby, Colorado and across the street was another resort so we had tons of elk on both properties and no one was able to hunt either resort so we are talking about 2500 acres of hunter free property. The resort next to ours they put out a bunch of hay every morning for them. We also split all of our deer up every year between four families. Not everyone gets a deer every year so it evens out in the end. We had enough deer this year already by rifle season I wasn't going to shoot anything unless it was awesome. I saw one nice doe my last day and just watched it walk by
I had a similar cow elk hunt a couple of years ago. 300 yards at 1 hour one way. 3 times through a burn area of fallen aspen, Douglas fir. It’s never easy.
Samong, listen man… this is one of your finest videos. I know that might surprise you because you have put out some incredible videos with insane footage. Wow! A Roosevelt bull in Oregon and a Rocky Mountain bull in Washington in one year! Couldn’t happen to a more deserving hunter!
My husband and I just LOVE you. The highlight of our day is knowing you’ve published another video.
Beautiful bull. As a western Washington hunter, I’m kinda jealous right now. I’m not gonna lie. 😂
That Oregon coast brush is no joke. Misery loves company so I appreciate that you showed the struggle haha.
Haha, I wasn't going to leave that part out. Such a miserable joy!
The Westside struggle is real!
The "I have no idea what I got myself into" comment made me laugh outloud.
Great video. I'm glad you showed yourself busting the brush. I'm a western Washington hunter and our brush is the same way. The blackberry bushes will leave scars for life.
LOL. I give all of you west side hunters your props man. That stuff is no joke!
@@SamongOutdoorsA testament to horrible logging practices brought on by greed and corruption of government officials.
Dang Samong, what a career year man!! You have taken some beautiful animals this year , congratulations! You might’ve stumbled on this one, but you show us all how much work you put in ! You are quickly jumping the ranks of You Tube hunters bro!!
Nicely done Samong, welcome to Oregon coastal elk hunting. Those clear cuts are definitely ankle breakers. Will see you on PWC
Hell of a job Samong and one of the best self filmed elk hunts I've seen. I'm 87 and I struggled with you thru all the blackberries feeling them biting into my legs. Well done this season son! Praise the LORD for his rewards and I know you do.
I watched this last year, it's even more fun this year. Samong is good at narrating what he is doing. He also is a very lucky young man.
I like the way you split the meat up amongst everyone involved. Those were some huge piles of great looking elk cuttings for sure! Enjoy!
I'm sitting here drooling over the camp kitchen and food. Such a great tradition you have to divide up the meat. Awesome.
I don’t comment on things much but I have to give you props on how well you picked that carcass clean. Good job man!!
That Pho looked amazing, great video and congrats on the bull. Thanks for showing what happens after the kill, I know lots of hunting channels don’t but I enjoy that part almost as much as the actual hunting.
Every once in a while, you get dealt sweet hands of cards. It is a rare occurrence to get a quick hunt harvest. Enjoy it!
Well Samong, I can see that you will not starve to death this winter! Holy smokes, two bulls, deer, turkey, grouse, fish. Your freezer must be looking pretty good! And you know you deserve all of that goodness as you work hard for it. Congratulations and a year full of great memories.

Been hunting Oregon for years and your right sometimes it’s just being in the right place at the right time congratulations on a great bull. 👍🏼
That pho spread is amazing. I'm lying in bed nursing a cold, and that looks perfect, ha ha. Great video.
It was meant to be.
Blessed
Mahalo for sharing your hunt.
Aloha

Congratulations on your fantastic Bull!!
Your so blessed to have your Family hunting with you
Thanks for the bullet information..!!
What roads there are, are pathways that exist in total wilderness. The elk and deer are right there. Amazing.
Congratulations!!
Your honesty is such a breath of fresh air in the hunting world!
