If Antonio Pierce is a cheerleading quarterback there is a lot of players that would love to play for him. And the players that he does have right now play hard for him. When Antonio Pierce took over the Raiders have the number one defense in the entire NFL. With adding key pieces I see them maintaining that spot or at least being in the top five. Aiden O'Connell did great with no real off-season in his first year. And more of the playbook with a real offensive coordinator he should be fine. And if not we have a reliable backup who almost took the colts to the playoffs missing it in the last game of the season so he is capable of winning games. And Josh Jacobs was hurt like five games out of last season and zamir white came in and did just as good or better. If the Raiders can put it all together I see them challenging the Chiefs for the top spot

That team plays hard for AP, they were one of the least penalized teams in football under AP. When could you ever say that about the Raiders? Maxx and Malcome Koonce are a problem for most teams. They're solid at LB, above at CB and Safety. Gardner or AOC just have to not mess things up. I doubt they're going to ask them to do too much. They'll probably just be game managers. Very few holes on the Raiders roster right now.

aoc will start. gardener is a great backup that can come out and win games but it is aocs job. aoc is quietly one of the most underrated guys around. he was thrown into an impossible situation last year and did much better than people give him credit for. in fact, he was the second best rookie qb last year trailing behind only cj stroud. he finished 5-4 after being thrust from 3rd string to a starting qb under an interim first time head coach and an interim offensive coordinator that wasnt an offensive coordinator. those 4 losses were to the chiefs, vikings, dolphins and colts and he avenged the loss to the chiefs. aoc and ap went 3-1 in their division and two of those games were against the chiefs. his entire career he has been an underdog that eventually earned his way to the top and its looking like that will continue. the raiders were a mess under mcdaniels. they had to pay chandler jones 32 million to not play. they had to pay garappolo 25 million only to wildly improve once they benched him in favor of a 3rd string guy making 4 million over 4 years. even with their star DE chandler jones having a mental breakdown they still managed to put together the best defense in the league coming down the stretch under AP and patrick graham. AP is no cheerleader head coach. he has the players as motivated as ive seen the team in my lifetime. him and telesco had the best draft i can remember. AP has players wanting to come play for him. similarly aoc is here to compete for the division this year. you might be sleeping on the raiders, but you better bet the chiefs, chargers and broncos arent. aoc threw 7 touchdowns against the chargers the last time they played. the broncos havent won a game in vegas ever. the chiefs were absolutely demoralized but the raiders defense in kansas city on christmas. everyone it sleeping on the raiders except their division because theyve seen whats coming.

If you want to make your bones in two and three tight end sets Brock Bowers is a great pick to pair with a more traditional in line guy like Mayer. It’s probably AOC as Minshew is a minimum starter competency contract, and the Raiders love Thayer Mumford at RT, Peat is another minimum competency guy who can play guard. Nice work.
I doubt Minshew ends up starting their staff likes AOC and he showed enough in brutal conditions to get a shot we already know Minshew's ceiling and AOC has more upside. I guess it's ok for Purdy as the last pick in the draft to be a solid starter but it's not for a 4th rd pick who probably would have been a 1st round pick if he came out after his junior year. I get it it's the Raiders so everyone is a skeptic but for once the GM had a good smart off season and draft and their roster is miles better than anyone's in the division other than the Chiefs and if you put Mahomes on the Raiders and AOC on the Chiefs would KC have a better record? I wouldn't trust the Raiders either so I get it. I will say that they have very quietly built a really good roster though and they're young. The Raiders season could be 5-7 wins or 10-11 wins I could make a pretty good case for either. If Malcom Koonce takes the next step, which he already has started doing, their defense is going to be top 8 and top 5 if they manage to sign a good CB with the post June 1st money. It comes down to their offense and of course their QB but I will say they have more pieces than a lot of people realize and for once they have some depth at OL. If Tre Tucker breaks out, and he showed signs of it the last quarter, their offense could be sneaky good. Everybody talks about the QB situation but the problem was at OL last year the PFF stats were a mirage they led the league in chips, TEs. and max-protection and couldn't run the ball or take advantage of their offensive talent. The QB wasn't really the problem and the coaches think AOC has a shot and so do I. I do think they can make the playoffs based on their division (other than the Chiefs) and a dominant defense and an offense that runs well and doesn't turn the ball over. Don't be too surprised if they end up being better than a lot of people think especially if Tyree Wilson breaks out. I also don't think they are done roster building yet either they will have 25 million+ after June and I think they either sign a vet CB or trade for one (Lattimore). It's good people think they aren't going to be any good it helps the team fly under the radar and this is the first year since 2017 I like what I see.

Yeah I think Joe Alt and Ladd are really not going to help Herbert “step forward” everyone knows if the Chargers just drafted Malik Nabers they would automatically reach a Super Bowl every season because they drafted a star receiver the most important position on the field by far. I know he looks like he's been in the league for a very long time but people keep forgetting he only had one year under his belt. The second year is usually the better year and we actually get to see who O'Connell really is
I wouldn't trust the Raiders either so I get it. I will say that they have very quietly built a really good roster though and they're young. The Raiders season could be 5-7 wins or 10-11 wins I could make a pretty good case for either. If Malcom Koonce takes the next step, which he already has started doing, their defense is going to be top 8 and top 5 if they manage to sign a good CB with the post June 1st money. It comes down to their offense and of course their QB but I will say they have more pieces than a lot of people realize and for once they have some depth at OL. If Tre Tucker breaks out, and he showed signs of it the last quarter, their offense could be sneaky good. Everybody talks about the QB situation but the problem was at OL last year the PFF stats were a mirage they led the league in chips, TEs. and max-protection and couldn't run the ball or take advantage of their offensive talent. The QB wasn't really the problem and the coaches think AOC has a shot and so do I. I do think they can make the playoffs based on their division (other than the Chiefs) and a dominant defense and an offense that runs well and doesn't turn the ball over. Don't be too surprised if they end up being better than a lot of people think especially if Tyree Wilson breaks out. I also don't think they are done roster building yet either they will have 25 million+ after June and I think they either sign a vet CB or trade for one (Lattimore). It's good people think they aren't going to be any good it helps the team fly under the radar and this is the first year since 2017 I like what I see.

Don’t follow the narrative of « the Spanos don’t spend money » they do they made DJ the highest paid safety and Bosa the highest paid edge and 2 WR at 20M and made Justin the highest paid Qb then went and paid Mack when nobody wanted to pay him, oh and paid JC as a top CB! Yes they did not pay for a coach but like a lot of teams they wanted the next Mcvay ! jacobs didnt have a good season, antonio pierce is a locker room guy and he hired people to help with coaching, (its a chance), they couldnt get the QB they wanted so they work with what they got. Yeah I think Joe Alt and Ladd are really not going to help Herbert “step forward” everyone knows if the Chargers just drafted Malik Nabers they would automatically reach a Super Bowl every season because they drafted a star receiver the most important position on the field by far. Atleast 5 times more important that QB. I think by buying into the national narrative in the offseason has panned out 100% of the time in the past. Remember when the Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill? They have been bottom of the division and really, the whole NFL. Zero super bowls and because they decided to build up their defense and offensive line around Mahomes that’s resulted in a bad result. Building a roster similar to the Chiefs blueprint like the Chargers are attempting seems like losing football to me. I think Herbert has thrived with a shakey offensive line like he had last year, he was injured but helped the team to a 5-12 record from the bench! I say we trade Joe Alt for Justin Jefferson and pay him like a QB because receivers are the most important player on planet earth. Chargers would have an A+ if they took Nabers but they get a F for drafting Alt. Just my genius thoughts! 👍
