Who are they winning 7 games against? Sometimes it’s not about how much you believe in a team but more of the schedule itself. I’m big supporter of the Dolphins but they’re schedule is rough at the tail end of the season and I have them going 11-6

I have them splitting the division even 3-3 and picking up a win in week 2. I can be swayed on the Chargers but I’m not being swayed on the Colts, Raiders or Washington. The Steelers have a great pass rush with Watt, Highsmith, and Heyward but are we really putting trust in the corners on this team? The linebackers have some serious questions even with Queen signed, who has questions about how good was he really. The offense is non existent to me, an absolute non factor. The offensive line is solid this year but WR room is almost as bad as the Chargers. The tandem of Najee and Jaylen is solid but enough to carry a team. Then there’s the dreaded QB situation, I wouldn’t want either one of the losers on my team so it doesn’t exactly get a vote of confidence to drive this bus. I’m not sure how we are believing this team is the one to win 8-9 games. I loved their draft this year, it got my highest draft grade easily but i don’t believe in this offense and the defense has some questions

We are working off the information given to the public and forming a grade and opinion. We go through a lot of research and writing to then get on TH-cam and do this. It’s fun that why we do it. That’s the definition of getting hot at the right time. The trades of Gafford and Washington propelled this team forward into a playoff spot but being able to outperform their own abilities kept them in it. Washington and DJJ outperformed from beyond the arc in the postseason up until the finals. Klay level shooter is ridiculous statement. He was 61st in 3 point percentage. You can’t shoot the 4th most 3s last season and rank below 50th.

OKC and the Timberwolves were 100% better but the Mavs got hot at the right time and beat Minnesota. But the lack of coaching adjustments and the cold spells of KAT and ANT was not normal. Just like DJJ and PJ Washington shooting efficiently from 3 in the playoffs until the Finals against Boston. I’m not sure what you are trying to say about the Klay thing? What are you bringing Klay in for expect to shoot 3s? The amount that the Mavs asked guys like PJ Washington and DJJ to shoot corner 3s was higher than the wings or the top of the arc. So yeah Klay is coming in to literally shoot corner 3s. And defending a WASHED Klay in 2024 is wild

@@The2020SportsPodcast Getting hot had nothing to do with beating the Timberwolves. None of their wings like PJ, DJJ, Josh Green got hot like they did vs OKC. The Timberwolves were thoroughly beaten by the Luka pick and roll. They tried everything defensively and he completely picked them apart. Catching lobs and dunks doesn't require hot shooting, hitting wide open 3s doesn't require hot shooting. Yes Luka and Kyrie both hit incredibly difficult shots time after time agains them, but that's what they do. That'swhat makes them superstars. Timberwolves complete inabillity to stop the double drag screen, regular pick and roll, fail on blitzes, doubles is what caused them to lose. That isn't just going to change, from what I counted the Timberwolves tried 8 different defensive coverages and none of them worked. Nothing in their offseason changes suggest to me they can suddenly defend Dallas.

That was OKC's gameplan and they died by it. The rebounding difference? No one should be surprised by that. The size difference was clear as day. Chet had to play 30 mins against fresh Lively or Gafford, splitting minutes, not to mention flight 55 lobs or PJ post ups on Giddy whenever they got the chance. All easy offense and replicatable throughout the series. Hell, we could could blame Luka health on the 2 loses but what's the point of playing that game when one team had clear advantages throughout the series.

Mavs out played their projections and got hot at the perfect time i genuinely believe that this team needed to get a little better than this to run it back. When Boston was able to have the personnel to defend every switch and able to slow down Luka and the Mavs in the paint then the perimeter shooting was looked for. The Mavs are clearly trying to target that during free agency with letting DJJ walk and bringing in a possible better option in Naji. Quentin Grimes will play valuable minutes but it doesn’t scream improvement past a B-. And I don’t think it’s worth having a discussion about Klay because nobody knows how he is going to preform. He’s in consistent at this point and not to be relied upon.

Cherry picking just post all star break is ridiculous. Klay shot the 2nd worst 3 point percentage in his career last year and he was benched. He’s a off the bench scorer at this point in his career and to now pay him for 3 years when he’s steadily declining.
