When I first started shooting striker fired guns seriously I hated the way a Glock felt in my hand. But once I actually had a little time dry fire practicing and some live fire I realized that Glock actually forced me to grip the gun in a manner than was beneficial to shooting faster with quicker splits and less time waiting for the sights to realign. I have been with Glock ever since...

Same for me. Started with M&P, ended up with Glocks.

I agree the grip is everything. The low left issues, are misdiagnosed sometimes as anticipating the shot. Reality is,that if you are right handed (flip the opposite of this for the left handed), you are like just tightening that grip squeeze at the last second (trying to control the recoil) which causes the muzzle to move. Holding Firmly but not squeezing the grip hard with the dominant hand, and letting my left support hand do all of the hard work in terms of keeping the gun fixed on target has helped me massively.

I agree with you 100%, I've been shooting a little over a year went with the stock clock 19 change the sights and got extremely proficient with it. Then I started to upgrade my game a but and picked up a Shadow systems mr920 with a Holosun 507c and training a few days a week to be proficient with my red dot now.

I am coming around on the Glock 19. Used to hate it, but it is tough to beat the magazine and accessory availability. Thinking of training in my XD and XDM for a 19/17 or clones. Really like the Shadow System MR920.

How do you like it so far? I'm trying to decide between the APX Compact and Centurion since they're such a great deal ($350ish even with the inflated pandemic prices) and my friend's full size APX with Beretta's Competition Firing Pin Spring Assembly in it is such a sweet shooting pistol. Would it be better to get the APX Compact for carry and use the 15/17/21 round mag for range days or just get the Centurion with the 15 round mag for everything?
Also any holster suggestions? My friend usually carries his OWB and I'm probably going to carry appendix when I purchase one.

I sold all P10C's I got, but at that time I shoot P10C's and P07 at the same time. I like width grip on P07 a lot more than skinny one on P10C. Its more like G19 style in hand. Like long but smooth first pull and than pretty short reset and very nice trigger. I like a lot trigger on G19 gen5 FS, specially reset. It is very pronounce, very short and very nice feel. Love the practical philosophies. The one thing I'm confused about that I hear a lot is that "I never clean it and its still running". Like, I get they're tools, and they can run in not ideal conditions but if its your carry piece and you want to rely on it working. Why wouldn't you want to make sure its in ideal ready to go condition? Like why live closer to the failure point than create a larger buffer before then by keeping it clean/lubed/maintained? Like tools work better maintained, its still a machine.

    • @TATargets
      @TATargets  3 ปีที่แล้ว

This is true, but I think many folks overthink it. For example, I'm on my second barrel in this G19. I know it like the back of my hand and I know when she's ready for a good scrubbing down. That's the benefit of me shooting 10's of thousands of rounds: I know the failure points of all my weapon systems. Hope that explains it better!

@@TATargets I'm now even more certain you know little about guns.
Any premium gun out of the box is better than a Glock. For example.
I don't own a VP9 nor a PPQ, (so I'm not advocating for them) but I know both guns are superior to a Glock out the box in every way. Glocks are barebones packages that overpriced because of the brand. The only advantage to the platform is it has the largest support of aftermarket items.
In fact, even a Canik TP9 which I think is ugly as hell is functionally better than a Glock.
Even mos Glock owners will tell you. right out the box, there need to be at least 4 upgrades, Trigger, sights, stipple, undercut.
I totally agree with building your own P80, That's customizing from the ground up and arguably not even a Glock.
These days, Glocks aren't even the most reliable, HKs, Springfields, are just as reliable.
Sometimes I carry an XD-S in the summer and No one dares say a G43 is superior cuz it's, not without a ton of work done to it.
Like I said, GlockFan Boy. No one who knows anything about guns will say, but a Glock fits my hand the best. As compared to what? other Glocks? did you get bricks for hands? Glocks aren't even contoured for palms.
      Go look at a P30L, VP9, P320, PPQ.
All have better grips with adjustable backstraps. That's just off the top of my head.
Out of the box, I'd say a G19 is comparable to a Ruger security 9. Which is like a throwaway truck pistol. It's reliable and you won't miss it if you had to use it and the cops held it for evidence.
If you can tell me one factual aspect of a stock Glock that is better than a stock PPQ out the box, I will concede.
This is a fair challenge because they are the same price. I promise you, you won't find it outside of aftermarket support which doesn't even count.
You need to broaden your knowledge of gear. until then you're Just a Glock fanboy in Glock world.

@@masonlee5453 thanks for the laugh. It’s funny how much time you spent sharing opinions as facts when the comment above was sarcastic. We own more variations of guns than you could possibly imagine.
But I’ve been running a stock G19 for almost 6 years. Four upgrades? Nah. Zero. Put any pistol in my hand and I can do work. That’s training.
Stop working so hard to convince people of your opinion and shoot more. Nobody cares who thinks “x” pistol is better, that wasn’t the point of the video.
