This was composed by Jim Steinman who died a year ago. He composed the music for Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell trilogy (this is from the second one), which was spaced over 29 years. Steinman's style is very theatrical/musical-like, in my mind, and wonderfully dramatic. And Meat Loaf died in January this year. Oh and the female vocals were provided by one Lorraine Crosby.
So glad to see a reaction to a Meatloaf song, today! The Steinman/Aday combination was utterly phenomenal. They were brilliant, and the depth you found in this song is even more evident in "OBJECTS IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR MAY APPEAR CLOSER THAN THEY ARE" th-cam.com/video/3jPMv9zJ1LE/w-d-xo.html... 3 vignettes on a common theme, all powerful facets of what it means to be human. It's my #1 by Meatloaf. Today's song is my #2, and "BAT OUT OF HELL" is #3. Okay, that and about 10 others are all my #3 favorite Meatloaf song. I believe in a Universe where that kind of math is possible. Thanks, Anton!
Just sat and watched your reaction video with Lorraine Crosby (Mrs loud ) vocalist on I would do anything for love . She is touring in a show around the UK
An interesting piece of trivia... the girl in the video is not the lady who supplied the voxals.... she was lip syncing.... the actial lady is a white uk singer... she auditioned for the voice uk ...
All the songs from the Bat Out of Hell album are great, but my two favorites are For Crying Out Loud and Two Out of Three Ain't Bad. Can't go wrong with anything from that album though! Love your reaction to this song & video, another one of my favs!
The music video was actually directed by Michael Bay. There are certain shots that give it away, like the beginning scene with the helicopter. He used a very similar shot in the first Transformers movie. The music videos does not feature the full-length track which is 12 minutes long.
The power ballad was a way for bands to get on the top 100 charts. A lot of the hair band from the 80’s and the heavier rock bands wanted wider audiences. The power ballad gave them this opportunity. Meat however is on a whole other level, this sort of song was exactly what he was about.
Great reaction always. You should definitely react to Paradise by the Dashboard Lights, Bat Out of Hell and Couldn’t Have Said it Better which is not that well known….
Top 3 Meat Loaf songs? Any song written by Jim Steinman and sung by Meat Loaf deserves to be in my top songs ever. However my all-time favourites are from the Bat out of Hell 2 album, perhaps in any order: - Anything for love - Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are (has video) - Rock and Roll dreams come through. (has video). - Out of the frying pan. - Everything louder than everything else - It just won't quit Misc facts: - The first three songs' videos are directed by Michael Bay (Transformers, Pearl Harbour, The Rock, Bad Boys). - In the R&R Dreams video we can see a very young Angelina Jolie. - Anything for love and Objects in the rear have a full length of 12 minutes. - The female part in Anything for love was sung by a Lorraine Crosby, credited as Mrs. Loud, who initially was supposed to record just a guiding vocals. However, their recordings would remain in the final release of the album. In the video clip, the model is just lip-syncing. - I'm not sure about this, but I think this very same model also stars in the first video clip of the next Meat Loaf album: 1995's I'd lie for you and that's the truth (album: Welcome to the Neighbourhood). If you like "real" power ballads, look for Jim Steinman compositions. He has written for Meat Loaf (obviously), Bonnie Tyler, Air Supply, Celine Dion, Fire Inc...
I really can't tell which Meat Loaf song's my all time favourite because all of them are. But I can tell you which Meat Loaf songs speak to me most at the moment: "Live or die", Meat's version of "California Dreamin'", "Rock and Roll dreams come through", "Alive" and "A time for heroes". I know that these are not the most picked, but you asked. So here you go. 😁
My top three are objects in the rearview mirror, bat out of hell, and a tie for third between hot patootie and two out of three ain't bad. If you haven't seen his performance in The Rocky horror picture show you really have to see it it's something to behold :-)
If I had to pick just 3, It'd Good Girls Go To Heaven, Objects In the Rearveiw Mirror &, of course, Bat Out Of Hell! I love these one in particular, because the tell such deep stories, aswell as being musical master pieces, like most Mearliaf songs are!
Love this video... But the full album version is a thousand times better. They cut a couple minutes of pure Jim Steinman genius to bring it below 10 minutes, and it's a severe loss. From a musical standpoint, you should listen to the 12 minute album version. You'll never go back.
Kids don’t know what true talent is anymore. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thanx Anton for your great reactions.I look forward to your SMILE ❤
Classic beauty and the beast. One of the best!

I love this song, was one of my best songs from the 90s… funny that i didnt know at that time that meat loaf was a Metal artist!!!!
Well worth listening to the album version also, for the extra verses by Lorraine Crosby.

I’ll say it again. Jennifer Rush Power Of Love music video is so up there too Anton. I’m always going to mention her until it’s been reacted to. 😉😁
I can get on board with this. Amazing song, amazing woman.
for some reason I suddenly seen great parallels with some of the work that Savatage has done..
Rock Oprah
Buffy? Please.

BS...no way this was the first time hearing this classic
I say that about a lot of react videos
