Really enjoying reading it and the Jitra PSC pdfs while awaiting the hard copy. I’ve got some Japanese and US Marines that at my painting speed should be just about ready by the time the Pacific book comes out (fingers tightly crossed that this one does well enough to justify the sequel).
Excellent review mate - as always! I'm chuffed to have some of my miniatures in the book and I appreciate your lovely words! I can't wait to get my hands on it and start to learn CoC!!
Cheers buddy, they look great and it was a real surprise to see the figures I'd seen on your FB page make their way into the book! Excellent stuff and congratulations!
Waiting in anticipation for my copy to swim across the pond. I'll have to paint some Commonwealth forces since I only have Japanese and Americans for this area of the war.
Amazing, i hope this goes well enough for one about the Pacific! Also, as a newcomer to Chain of Command, does anyone have tips on playing solo? Or is it just the play to the best of your ability for both sides?
WOW! I'm honestly a bit speechless. It's one thing to hear that it's being written, and another to see it and get a *full* appreciation regarding the sheer amount of effort, thought, and care that went into producing this handbook. I mean, I think I spied a rule covering defoliation by fire! And so many new things for CoC as a whole! I've deliberately held off on viewing my PDF copy (being in the US I haven't received the physical copy yet) as I wanted to have a nice sit down with it, but I think this flip-through may weaken my resolve. 😛 I realize it's early days but, new rules wise, might any of them find a place (RAW or modified) in Great War CoC, Alex? Or spur/inspire ideas for Great War CoC? I can't wait to be introduced to a theater that I know almost nothing about, be inspired to read more about it, get some new forces, and model markers to indicate creek depth. LOL Thank you for the flip through!
I've been enjoying my copy. Plenty of new information in it too; Blackforce was novel to me and feels almost like a late war Panzer Grenadier Platoon in it's section structure. Great stuff. Looking forward to trying out a lot of the concepts.
Alec, Ordered this book from Rich after seeing your interview with him. Have a lot of the Official History of the war in the Far east, Book should alsohelp fighting the the French Indochina War and the Malaya Insurgency.
Wonderful review! As a noob... Any suggestions for 1941-1943ish British army? (Pref: 28mm, I know not your thing. But being an expert gamer, you should have some idea's😉)
Cheers, do you mean manufacturers? If so there's loads of 28mm figures out there, such as the Warlord 8th Army British would work for the Far East up to 43.
@StormofSteelWargaming Actually, you answered the question with your answer 😅 I meant style indeed. Was wondering if 8th army would do... So luckily it does 😊 Any suggestions about colors for uniforms?

It's worth the wait!
Great review of a book that has been long very eagerly awaited by most of my usual gaming group! Looking forward to getting it on the table soon!

There's plenty of solo games of CoC on the rest of the channel and yes, just play both sides to the best of your ability.

Yeah, some of these rules may find their way into Great War CoC at some point. There's a lot to think about!
@@StormofSteelWargaming Understood - you shouldn't rush genius!

Yeah, I was looking at Blackforce as well, there's a lot of firepower in that platoon!
I was waiting for how the smg disparity was going to be covered and smiled allot when you got to the "Blitz Party".
Oh boy. Not a part of the Pacific I’m knowledgeable about, my ties are to the next volume, but getting this one too. Great review.

I was just looking at my PDF file, so this is very timely!

@@cosmababy check my video guide to painting the British in Malaya, it's for 15mm, but would work for 28mm as well.
@@StormofSteelWargaming Thank you so much for your answers. Very kind!
I wonder when the Pacific will be out. Esp China theatre.
I expect it will come sometime after CoC V.2 is released.
