even if u arent a rock fan, dreamcatcher has the most diverse discography in kpop... they have a genre u will like; if u do another dreamcatcher video, i recommend adding bside videos to it like "Red Sun" "Shatter" "Jazz Bar" etc
You got Handong right, btw they are 7 members but Handong was absent during Scream and Boca (She was stuck in China due to covid restrictions). Scream and Boca concept are part 1 and 2 of a trilogy about cyberbullying, Bonvoyage is part 3 of a trilogy about protecting the environment, and OOTD is like a critic to social media being superficial and toxic. My fav from these 4 songs is Bonvoyage. I think Deja Vu (is a game collab with King's Raid), BEcause (inspired in the movie 'US') and Odd Eye (3rd part of Dystopya trilogy, wich is about cyberbullying) would be really good for a reaction too. Hope you react to more DC❤
You get more of the classic Dreamcatcher rock sound in the Nightmare series, which has six songs: Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What, Piri. Also, Dami (rapper, deep voice) said Green Day was the inspiration for her solo song, Beauty Full.
There are Seven videos in the Nightmare series but the last one (supposedly an Alternate Ending) is a Japanese release so it might be difficult to react to. 'Endless Night' can be found on the YT channel called Pony Canyon.
Scream, Boca and Odd Eye are a trilogy, so you're only missing the last one :) OOTD is a satire of lyrics from other groups and what is 'cool' in the industry rn. It's also the first part of a new storyline...
Thank you for checking out Dreamcatcher! Yeah, Handong is close with alot of Chinese Idols, I think it's because she's one of the oldest active Chinese Idols in Korea so she takes care of alot of her juniors. I think it's true that because they have the rock sound they will never be mine stream, but it also makes them so special. If you do decide to delve deeper in them you'll find that they are amazing dancers, amazing vocalists, and overall just amazing, charismatic performers. And, though their title tracks all incorporate rock, their bsides explores multiple genres! Also, since y'all appear to be EXO-Ls, Dreamcatcher's main vocalist Siyeon has a really awesome cover of Overdose that you can find on youtube. She performed it as part of a vocal competition that she won second place in. ^_^
You should definitely listen to more Dreamcatcher and the channel Insomnicsy is the go to for all things Dreamcatcher and you can get to know their personalities they are one of the most unfiltered idols in kpop lol thanks for reacting to our girls
15:01 sorry but i'm so tired of this attitude towards girl group choreos.. not only does it seem really uninformed and biased, (it also often seems to stem from internalized misogyny). 95% of the time it comes from bg stans who haven't even experienced that many girl groups. besides the fact that you probably just need to look at more groups, "harder" choreo also doesn't have to mean something is more technically difficult. why do you think male idols seem to have a harder time covering gg choreos than the other way around? sorry to air out some frustration in your comments, you guys weren't nearly as bad as some people i've seen. there's just so many misconceptions that really get tiring :') i'm glad you appreciate DC and i hope you'll continue to check them out
Same im so tired of that comment 😫😫 literally every bg stan uses that as an excuse to not look into girl groups. It's not even a valid excuse when they've just see a small portion of the choreo too, like ofc the chorus will be "easy" bc it's more likely to trend. Like do they not noticed 9/10 girl group choreo is more likely to be viral bc anyone can do it rather than the more "difficult" bg choreo.
For more context, OOTD isn’t exactly an empowering song, they actually want to portray the image of overconfidence and narcissism, a satire of the superficiality of the kpop industry with a bit of punk influence. That’s why is so different to their other concepts as you’ve never seen them flexing about being rich and sexy or that stuff lmao some fans felt disappointed but I think bc they totally missed the meaning behind
Yup. Basically calling out some 'Influencers' for being really shitty people and influencing the all the worst ways. One of Dami's lines is a dead giveaway for that: 'driving down the highway drunken every day. Tell me do you feel like a monster?'
On Scream “this could be in a club”. Seeing Scream live is an experience and it goes so hard :) as for being in the club, Silent Night is a good song for that vibe and again, in concerts it’s something else! Fun detail in Bon Voyage; when they sing “I Love You” they also use sign language in their choreo. Thank you for reacting to DC!
Thank you for reacting to Dreamcatcher! Please react to more. I recommend Deja Vu, BEcause and Odd eye which is the last part of scream and Boca. Also I recommend that you check their B-sides because there are less Rocky songs.
Dreamcatcher title tracks always have a story and OOTD is no exception. The entire video takes place inside the social media internet space. If you press enter you will be gone just like the woman you see sitting at the desk in the first place. Her name is Shasha, computer graphic designer, who is drawn into a fake social media world by ymenehcra (archenemy). Shasha proceeds to follow the crown and at the very end everything is revealed to be cgi and she is deactivated by Jiu. Since she isn't at her desk the next day it can be assumed that she was deleted. Dreamcatcher are the villains in this video. They are pursuing the crown of Kpop fame and fortune and they fight ruthlessly with each other to get it. There can be only one. They are the exact opposite of the real Dreamcatcher who love and support each other. The photobook that came with the album leaves no doubt about this. They are shown with cuts and bruises, and being involved in violent confrontations. There's one shot of Dami lying on the floor while Siyeon looms over her with a brass knuckled fist raised to strike. Another shows Jiu and Gahyeon glaring at each other with a gorgeous crown sitting between them. I hope the comeback will reveal the good Dreamcatcher come to take on the villains.
Next, DC - Deja Vu, where its have the most iconic line by Handong. Also similar vibe to Deja Vu, DC - REASON, a fan song, where you will be headbanging while crying 🤟
Reason is a great song, but I think it is much more impactful once the listener is an invested InSomnia. I say listen to other songs first, go through Insomnicsy's channel, see mera's Dodging Disbandment (history of Dreamcatcher)... then see Reason.

If you like American rock of the pop punk / pop rock flavor, you should check out Damis solo song from their album "Apocalypse: Save Us" full album. All the members had solo songs, and they all have special clips on dreamcatchers channel. If you want a look at their more individual styles it can be fun! only a couple of these ar particularly rock-y. JiUs cherry, for example, has more of that retro synth pop sound that k-pop got into for a while. It is also about her pet dog cherry and the MV stars the dog in question too. Locked Inside a Door and Starlight are two of the non rock b sides from that album that I really love too. A lot of their b sides feature other styles.
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song? "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. At first glance you could think OOTD is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. The album is called VersuS VillainS, which makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe it's about useless instagram fashion-influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion. The fact that fashion is moving ever faster makes it the most destructive industry to the planet only outdone by the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up. The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra (arch enemy backwards) account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback. It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song. And Handong standing in front of the camera with bruises all over her legs seems to be a comment on the merciless industry as well. The music is highly interesting as well. The Rock is dirty and distorted. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is funk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.
@@smilecabbage9168 I'd suggest Odd Eye to finish off the Dystopia trilogy, Maison and Vision for the Apocalypse trilogy, and Deja Vu if you want to listen to a masterpiece. 😉
Glad you enjoyed them and as others have said, their B-sides cover many genres and they're very talented. BTW the volume of the MVs was too loud compared to your voices which made it hard to hear what you were saying.
They have shared the stage with may generations of idols , as new 5th generation idols enter the stage in the next few years , the Dreamcatcher will Remain , no good byes , just a Endless Journey . " She is and They are the first and always" , Legendary Dreamcatcher
She has a Beauty like no other , She has a Heart like no other , She has a Power like no other , She has a Flame like no other , She has a Magic like no other , " She is and They are the first and always" , Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher
she has Decided to Love the Fate that has Chosen Her , " when it's Fate , there is no coincidence " . " She is and They are the first and always" , Legendary Dreamcatcher
the story of the Dreamcatcher. 7 beings were Born into this World, they would find each other through Destiny, and be bonded to each other Through Destiny for All Time. When 5 of them found each other they became Minx (18.09.2014), but Destiny had other plans for them and forces would separate them. But their Bond Through Destiny was so Strong that they would find each other throughout all Time , they Returned and Destiny brought the final 2 beings to the group. They became Guardians of Dreams, They became Dreamcatcher . Gifted , Blessed and Bonded Through Destiny for all Time. To be a Dreamcatcher you have to be chosen by Fate , and Blessed by Destiny with : Magic , Power , Fire and Timeless Beauty . those who Discover Dreamcatcher, Become InSomnia and never Sleep on Dreamcatcher talent
Though Dreamcatcher is very empowering, I wouldn't call any of their songs "woman empowerment". Dreamcatcher is one of the most gender-neutral groups I know. They support everyone, male or female, LGBT or straight, "we all live under the same sky", as Yoohyeon said. I can't remember a single song of theirs whose lesson only applies to women. And while they are absolutely badass, their concept is badass... they don't have even a single song that I can remember that says "we are badass". They don't have to say it. They empower by example, by being strong, open-minded women, who persisted for many years, despite the disbandment, despite the lukewarm acceptance, before finally making their dreams come true (since it was only around Scream that they started getting more recognition from the mainstream).
Out of that 4, I like BOCA and BonVoyage the most. I was starting into dreamcatcher during BOCA era, also BOCA as the second part of Dystopia series that talk about hates, bullies, irl and online PoV, also in BOCA era they talk about suicide related to hates and bullies (which is "familiar" in kpop, the last one I really remember was Sulli from f(x), the more update one was 2nd gen idol Goo Hara from KARA, idk if Moonbin related to hates also but suicide is common in Korea). BOCA reminded me about my past 12-14 y.o in midschool, having problems in family plus bullied at school even I got my brain swollen, so the song really creates strong chemistry with me. Still be my fav among Dystopia trilogy, despite most people preferred SCREAM or ODD EYE as fav for Dystopia trilogy
she will return soon , with the fall of the rose petals , and the fragrance of summer , the one they call Dreamcatcher , Her Symbol has become her Name for all Time , " She is and They are the first and always" , Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher "🌹
handong was on china during scream era thats why their are only 6 of them, the mask girl actually represent handong
And Boca

“July 7th” “Black or White” “Whistle” “In the Frozen” “Silent Night” “Deja Vu” are my recommendations.

I think Deja Vu (is a game collab with King's Raid), BEcause (inspired in the movie 'US') and Odd Eye (3rd part of Dystopya trilogy, wich is about cyberbullying) would be really good for a reaction too.

the story of the Dreamcatcher.
7 beings were Born into this World, they would find each other through Destiny,
and be bonded to each other Through Destiny for All Time.
When 5 of them found each other they became Minx (18.09.2014),
but Destiny had other plans for them and forces would separate them.
But their Bond Through Destiny was so Strong that they would find each other throughout all Time ,
they Returned and Destiny brought the final 2 beings to the group.
They became Guardians of Dreams,
They became Dreamcatcher .
Gifted , Blessed and Bonded Through Destiny for all Time.
To be a Dreamcatcher you have to be chosen by Fate ,
and Blessed by Destiny with :
Magic , Power , Fire and Timeless Beauty .
those who Discover Dreamcatcher,
Become InSomnia and never Sleep on Dreamcatcher talent
The Sacrifices of MINX ,
Becomes the Oath of the Eternal Legendary Dreamcatcher ,
Never To give up on the Dream .
That's exactly how it looks like. Thanks.

Still be my fav among Dystopia trilogy, despite most people preferred SCREAM or ODD EYE as fav for Dystopia trilogy
she will return soon ,
