After finishing high school, I worked as a site worker. I went to college and took business admin as my course, I didn't finish my studies as we family don't have enough money. I continue my work at site for 7 years, early this year, I joined a company and I am in finance department. I learn the concept while working, and went to few accounting courses. Now I am 30 years old and would like to enroll in diploma in accounting and would like to become an ACCA member because after 7 years, I found out that my love is for accounting, and not working as a site worker or engineer. Appreciate your advise on where should I start as I did not perform well during my high school.
You can do it. My passion is also accounting. Its really intresting.
@Said Awais Ullah route two is better. But if you are not strong financially than you will feel the second option difficult. Because when you will apply for exemption you have to pay fee for 9 papers of acca.
@Said Awais Ullah scope is always there for good knowledge and experience. If you will do in good marks and you would have sound grip on it then you will find good job. And exemption fee will be same as paper fee. You have to pay full paper fee for exemption.

shubham singla If you go for acca after doing ca..you will get an exemption from 9 papers..and you have to give only 4 papers..out of which 2 are of your choice

yes..u can do it after 12th.....maths is not needed but it is good if u know the basic maths. The main subjects are accounts ,taxation ,auditing, costing and FM
Without maths you won't be acca instead you will be FIA. But still you have the option to pass to acca after clearing 1,2,3. But i will suggest you not to choose this course of you are weak in maths.

You can work in any firm which has audit tax or accounting department in it
•I did introductory certificate in financial and management accounting ,
•Intermediate certificate in financial and management accounting
•Diploma in accounting and business
•Advanced Diploma in accounting and business .
As a non accounting student but until Now I still can’t even find job placement to practice as hard as the exams were. Some times I feel like giving up instead of continuing the strategic level exams . However , I don’t want to .It’s like am wasting my precious time reading and studying hard for nothing . ACCA should do something better to make those certificates and diplomas relevant . I guess is even more hard than academic degrees (BSc) . I see even master degree holders don’t even know lots of things in accounting . Maybe It’s better switch to IT Accounting & Finance !
