I live in California since 1969. What mega project 😂. Took 2 decades just to build a 1 mile underground lite rail in SF. Been waiting for the HSR for 3 decades now.

Good thing that useless HSR never gets built.
Note, use that waste money to improve public transportation statewide3

@@commentorsilensor3734 Newsflash: HSR is a statewide public transportation improvement project. Want to see a real waste of money? Futilely building more lanes of freeway that immediately induce more traffic, leading to the need for even more lanes of freeway.

@blakeclark5898 HSR without state of the art public transportation in major cities is waste of money. HSR must couple major metropolitan area with high population density or it is waste of money.
Oh don't forget without good public transportation, there is still need to build couple lanes of freeway for car lovers oh I mean train lovers like you to get to train stations.
HSR is very very very expensive. It's mission impossible to make money, but it has to serve 80 million annual ride to make intangible benefits. Or some Chinese got frustrated with over building HSR come up this number, 7000 riders per km per day. Ignoring state of art public transportation in local area does not know the meaning of transportation.

They could modernize HWY 5 for a fraction of the cost of those HSR to no where

This is old news, out of date in 2024. You actually pronounced a few words correctly.

You need to learn the names of places before you start talking. You misprounced San Joaquin, Klamath, and Santa Clara. I am a second-generation Californian. I lived there most of my life until we moved to Northern Oregon to get our children away from the gang mentality.

It’s getting better.much better than the pandemic days. And the only reason why there are so many homeless is cause Cali still offers a lot of opportunities

Easily solved. We can send them to Texas and Florida to thank them for all the immigrants they've sent us.

Unbelievable. At 9 minutes 29 seconds, you can see a guy lifting the subway entrance to bypass paying! Why CA does not put barrier to keep non-payers at of the rail systems is beyond me! At 12 minutes 43 seconds, they discuss the LAX People Mover project which is not $2.25 Billion, but actually $3.36 Billion. Think about it. Three thousand three hundred thirty six million dollars. For a tram. That is not even underground. Huge bloated budgets, missed deadlines and constantly going over a gigantic budget to begin with, are almost as problematic as the failure of leadership in all of our agencies. No one ever loses their jobs in leadership for preceding over this mess. And despite giving most agencies virtually unlimited amounts of money, they keep wanting to raise taxes and come back for even more money. The projects are noble, but the lack of accountability in California is breathtaking.

If you really think all CA is full of homeless, you are totally WRONG, but no surprise of MAGAS hate towards CA. CA is a great place to live.
