Love the idea of purges. Execution, not so much. 10 min heads up, good. Them slowly waltzing in, bad. Them being able to be taken out by 1 t4, bad. Small numbers in each wave, bad. Them getting hung up on rocks, bad. One guy hung up who we can't find forcing the clock to run out, bad. Them being such a little threat that the designs/defenses we work into the build being never tested, bad. Purges should be like the 15 year old Firefight mode from Halo Reach. They storm in, getting more and more powerful with each wave and actually crash against the walls vs the weak sauce that they are. Crazy that a 15 year old game does it 10x better. Since I love building, putting in actual defenses, Exiles purge has always been a major disappointment
I liked the trick on putting the hatches over the palisades, but it seems your thralls were not taking any damage. I find it hard to believe that naked thralls were not being killed by any shots or orbs from the enemy archers.
AYEEE!!!!!!!!!!! I just wanted to thankyou from the depths of my exiled soul!!! I got my arce kicked and handed to me on a silver platter from my first purge. Literally. All my thralls were killed, etc. Luckily I had a nice size foundation set up at the only entrance to my base, so they aggroed that for the whole remaining purge time and didn't make it to my actual base. Anyways, I was ready to give up after that, then I went on here and checked your video out, and bruuuhh!! That shit works SUPER GOOD! I play on a server so the grind was a bit tough, my whole "NEW" base is half T1 and half T2 lmao BUT, I grinded the T3 materials just to be sure I made that defense wall the best, and JUST YESTERDAY, I had my 2nd purge. Not gonna lie, I was scared af. Took alot of materials and time BUT! the outcome was a SUCCESS!!!! The only thing on the wall was that the hatches are only T1 bcus I don't have anymore knowledge points YET. so they destroyed SOME of it and a couple palisades but SUPER MINOR! the frigging wall was fantastic! Got me like 6berserkers and 5archerers and they held it down!!! Thankyou so much! I truly appreciate this content man! Got a sub from me fosho!!!!
Built on pillars, foundation connected to beach with one walkway, I swear they were in the water underrrrrr the base then poof in base lol. This I seriously love and will try for the beach.
Next time cimmerians will bring better shoes? I think when you destroy your bases in the future set up explosives all over and have a nice chain reaction go off :)
Given the area it is placed if an Avalanche of rocknoses attacks that base will be undone. And if it's on range of cimmerian bt mammoths would have so much fun.
Got frustrated with the spikes and just said nope. Does it gotta be exactly the same type of walls? And everything? Just tried the weak stone foundation and didnt work too good.
1) must have foundation underneath 2) lower down the spikes. for pc it can be done by pressing shift. But stop when green. Do not lower it down too much. I've had similar problems. It's easy once you figure out the logic.

Man, I've said before I think you're the best conan youtube, but you're being too optimistic. That's only going to work on humans, and only like 10% of the time. If you take into account the super weird hitbos placement of... anything else, really, then its really not going to work., I've laid literal beds of spikes under drawbridge, pulled the bridge up and seen surge monsters actually dive into the spikes, and still take no damage with the pikes actually poking out of their backs as they somehow still walk to the base.

Haha. This is what I did in a corral coming up to my main gate and the entire first floor. Works good.
now we just need non stop non-lethal damage for mass thrall taming. Be great for star metal farming if you don't want to wait for them to drop.

If you build the Base correctly, there is no such problem. Always leave a way to reach the base.

I have build bases in flat areas no stairs/ramps. Just a box on the floor. Purge spawned on the roof.

Sometimes it doesn't work, we didn't know why. The type of build or the order in which it was built can be important.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm I like this one. now I just need to adapt it for a base of my own.

Rock NPCs and skeletons take no damage. Also some big boos don't take damage. Other than that it seems to work.

Suitable for PVE. It can be made more comprehensive for PVP.
You've been able to put spikes inside wedge foundations for a long time.. It's a fun trick, but rarely really that useful (in pvp).
