I think both in real life and on screen they were similar..both stubborn and hard headed. It's hard to make it work when you are both so alike. But they had such undeniable chemistry that it made you root for them together on the show and hoping they would have been together in real life. Enjoying watching it all again during these awful times and remembering good times with this awesome show

Bruce very awesome and amazing. I Love this actor since Moonligthing and now. I watching all his movies. wonderful and fantastic. He's still TOP until now, nothing like him. He and Maddie have the good chemistry, in the movie Bruce is passionately
I remember the scene (think it was season 3) when David was trying to get to Maddie because she was pregnant and by a series of unfortunate events ends up in a jail cell and the episode was left on a cliffhanger. I went to bed and just lay there unable to sleep trying to work out how the heck David was going to get out of jail. Of course, he did 😅
Maddie dogged David. And wasn't until she saw him with someone else did she decide to be truthful with him. Maddie's character was selfish, selfish, selfish. Rarely did she ever care about David's feelings.
I double I know she got very jealous because he just oooooozed sexy funny cute handsome and she was reduced to tv because she was a has been or like my mom says a never was..

You can't blame her for being mad at him for that, but in season 4 the writers made her so unreasonable and frankly out-of-character. The Maddie that we knew would never do such an irrational thing as marrying a complete stranger. The writers didn't even try to make these two work.
Yes they did. They went too far in S4 and really too far in S5ep1. You don't write slapstick comedy about miscarriage. S1 was fresh, new and fun. Detective shows were so numerous. This one would redo a fairly common crime...but wrap it in the comedy of the three actors. S2 was very funny. S3 was funny and artistic....then they completed the taming of the shrew romance and didn't follow through with the return to Padua in S4 where they compromised. Instead the writers kept making Maddie worse and worse and David better and better. Eventually everyone just hated Maddie and found David stupid for hanging around. Season 5, with 4 skipped, could have worked (omitting the strange, disturbing, bad taste baby and angel episode). Even if they didn't marry but Viola and Depesto did it would be fine. Just settling out to a Remington Steele show. Caron seems to have 2 full years for this formula...then they run out of good ideas.

After awhile you have to take the jump and give the relationship a chance. He was willing to change, he told her whatever she wanted he'd do it but no, it was never enough for her. Then of course at the end of season 5 he had enough and moved on. Now who wants to watch a couple we cheered for hurt each other over and over like that? The Moonlighting curse isn't about people not being interested anymore once the couple did the deed, it was because people didn't like the constant negativity.

Not all woman are selfish and vain and not all men are wominizers, players or "emotional retards". People are people and deep down all of us want the same thing...happiness, love, peace, and saftey.
