Today's our first day of Singletrack 6, the race we've been preparing for all year. But sometimes when you have super high expectations for a race, nerves run extra high, and things just seem to go wrong.

Exactly, and I don't even ride MTB. I'd love to, but it requires too much focus and my head starts erroring out like a bad sd card. So I stick to road, easier to handle.
Still, I love to watch others enjoy the outdoors on their bikes, even if there are spots missing.

This is going to be a great series and so glad you did take the effort to film what you can. No worries on the camera errors, with GoPros we've all had that happen, luckily you've captured enough to give us a taste and now we all want more.

I need a pair of those "headphones". And for that price, it's a no brainer. The worst feeling while riding is when you're cruising along on the road and all of a sudden you have a car passing you from behind, within arms reach going 80-100kmh. With my current wireless ear buds I can't hear the car until it's right beside me.
It's clear that you care about bringing us great content. Although this vid may not be up to your standards, I still enjoyed it.

You guys realize that we would watch a stick drawing of you guys going thru the race and with your commentary we would love every minute of it, right??? We don't watch just to see you guys race some trails, we watch because we love hearing you talk about the race and all your comments during the race and just seeing you guys live life. Never be upset because the camera doesn't work.
No cameras, no worries, just come on and describe what happened during the stage and we'd all still be happy. You're both so generous sharing your experiences, we're not going to stop watching because of the odd technical glitch here and there... we're here to support you, not criticise you! 💪💯🚴❤️
Hang in there guys! Your videos mean so much more than then stage view but rather how you handle the stress of the technical glitches and how you rationalize the positive and negatives for each stage. Love how you both download the key lessons learned and support one another on the challenges faced!

Wow 2,000 calories 😀. My daily training was 3,500 to 4,000 calories in about 4.5 hours, 90 miles. I have to eat 14-16 sandwiches a day

We’ve all had the dreaded GoPro error message and it’s always at the worst time, as they say S**t happens don’t sweat it we all enjoy your content and it’s amazing. You two ride like the wind while talking to the camera flying down a mountain, AMAZING. Keep up the awesome content and sharing your adventures, loved that you stopped and found a nice place to play on your trek north too those stops are what makes the adventures even more memorable.
You can only control your thoughts and actions. Maybe those actions help influence outcomes, maybe not. It's out of your control. You do the best you can, and if Carter gets seven minutes on you, or tech doesn't function optimally, it's out of your control.
After all, the goal of the TH-cam channel is to support the biking, right? Sounds like you got to do the mountain biking. So, success!

It is not a product placement, but just remember. MicroSD cards are NAND memmory that - opposite to the NAND in SSD's - does not have ability to manage 'usage' of the cell's (Trimming deleted content). Therefore, formatting is really good idea. Additionally, every NAND memmory will loose some of it's 'workable' sectors, there is a buffer for it, but this buffer is bigger in bigger size cards. I would recommend to not to go lower than this card: SanDisk microSDXC Extreme Pro 512GB 200/140 MB/s A2 C10 V30 UHS-I U3 or its 400GB version.
What everyone else said! We'll watch anyho. But the stage?! 36k with almost 1300m of climbing?! That is brutal! I raced 36k last Sunday with nearly 600m of climbing and I thought that was tough 😀😀 Wow, well done guys!

I've never watched a TH-cam channel that did not have video camera issues at some point.....camera is off when they thought it was on....battery dies...cold weather drains battery too fast....SD card fills up...etc. don't worry about it. race hard !!
I get so anxious about races. Heck, I only sign up for races to provide structure for a training plan. Treating my adhd and anxiety helps, but man it can be rough sometimes. Also, I get irrationally irritated at some stuff, too- especially things that are just supposed to work. In my mind, some things are just supposed to work, and it infuriates me when they don’t. I feel ya, Syd. Looking forward to all the videos of this stage race!

Can only speek for myself: I really don't care if one of your many, many videos is not functioning the way intended or not as good as other ones. I primarily watch your vids because of your gentle and awesome characters. The mountain bike action imo just a great extra. Don't get frustated over such a small thing!

On the dropper post issue, I have had a similar issue with my dropper. I have passed people on the trail while yanking on my dropper post cable and they looked at me like I was crazy. Guessing the hose might be kinked inside the frame and temperature changes have an effect as well. It's about the cable interacting with the kinked tube at different temperatures.

Hey not based on this video but the last one where you guys rode for fun- That video motivated me to go ride that day- and it was a great day because instead of trying to get the ride in- I rode for fun and the enjoyment. Thank you. My point? We watch for you guys- not every second of trail riding. Although great to watch and appreciate what you do- I connect with the journey you are on and this video delivered. You should do some short videos “syd fixes fuel” and give us a bit more info on your food! It looks like you make some awesome eats. It doesn’t have to be a cooking show, just a little more detail on how and what and when you fuel.
Does Syd need to take a break from racing? Does she love the racing still? Does she feel mentally tired of competition?
Does she need to take a break to come back to regain that flame again? Just asking.
