I just came back from 7 weeks touring around South Oz. I thought Laura was an amazing looking little town. South Oz does their old building really well. Wanted to do the Pichi Richi railway, changed my plans so I could get there on a weekend, and turns out that it was the only weekend they weren't running. So it was good to see your video of what I missed.
We too like Laura and what it has to offer. After doing some steam train rides in Tasmania, we feel that the Pichi Richi has that steam smell to it as you ride with the windows down if you wish, something that you can not do in Tassie. It is a chame that you were not able to ride the Pichi Richi while you were there.
Parked for later viewing ...having enjoyed the Simpson Desert vlogs this will be a treat. TV is boring reruns and adds so ... thank you in anticipation Jan Adelaide💙
As thought the vlog was better than TV❤ Must put the Pt Augusta - Quorn trip on my bucket list. I have done the short trip - loved it. Also ❤ the vista as you entered the Spear Creek camp ground. And finally your reviews of camping grounds/ caravan parks are always informative and interesting. 🙏 💙Jan Adelaide
Thank you for this part of your trip as it was Crystal Brook that we stayed at when we came to SA around 1980 & then we drove upto Quorn but the train wasn't running that day. I recognised the rail bridge we walked over & my son lost his thong down through the sleepers so daddy had to climb down & retrieve it to stop his son from crying. Daddy had been carrying him on his back when the thong came off. It was in the first week of January so stinking hot but I loved the dry heat that we don't get here in the eastern side of Australia so I was sorry to return home again actually especially as hubby had pinched my sheep skin to sit on claiming the driver needed it more. 😢 So I am looking forward to seeing the next part. I absolutely loved your last camping spot as the gum trees are fantastic as well as the lizards, the last time I saw a bearded dragon was when I was a child in the 1950s & we were in the bush next to my home exploring. I also loved your birds, so cute & different from our birds of the eastern coast. I wonder if they sound as noisy as ours do. Yes, I could cheerfully spend a week there in one of those cabins if I was 20 years younger & fitter. 😀
Great video, been quite a while since I did the train. Spear Creek looks lovely, might have to put it on my "to do" list. See you next week. 🙂 cheers Cheryl
Great video Mick. When camping out in the bush like you are doing, are the presence of snakes a consideration? In New Zealand the only snakes are in patrol cars on our highways.
Always on the lookout for snakes and the likes. They are worried about themselves and not so much us so as long as we don't corner one with nowhere to go, they normally are not seen. The highways are a different style to keep away from.
New subscriber here. Hehe watching from philippines. The first video that i watch in your channel. Is you do transport goods. I think the name of that company is ABC TRANSPORT. Stay safe always dude👍
