It's not that hard to get new characters as a ftp, I've gotten northstar and guardian for free you just have to play and do milestones, hope fully they don't have it so that you have to waste money to get the illuminati team
Scopely has been clear and transparent, they want to segregate players by spending level and they want the higher spending level to have a clear competitive advantage over those below them. It’s been that way for about 1.5-2 years now. If F2P can’t unlock CB, then it will kind of be like Mephisto, except it will be a year, instead of about 6-9 months for F2P to unlock after the highest spenders. My only real problem is that it’s a cc character, not war. When it was war, like zuggs, it was a luxury advantage for spenders. CB being cc doesn’t seem like a luxury advantage. It seems like a deciding factor in who wins cc’s. Ppl shouldn’t be worried Scopely is trying to increase monetization. Ppl should be scared shitless that Scopely is listening too much to unreasonable demands of krakens. That mephisto buff should never have happened. Never. If Scopely had a spine, it would never have happened. Most games don’t listen to krakens to this degree. When a game goes too far in this direction, it becomes more of a virtual vending machine, not a game. Spending should be an advantage, not an auto-win anything in the game.

I don't really get why this one has anything to do with krakens. Krakens only fight whales or other krakens, they don't fight dolphins, the power gap is way, way too large at this point. And whales will have 5 stars on these characters too, so also unlock CB on day 1. This feels much more like a giveback to whales, so they can beat up on dolphins and F2P after all the recent handouts to krakens have probably bothered the whales like the war ready changes and the Mephisto changes. F2P/dolphins don't matter and never did, obviously.

Scopely has been widening the gap between each of those 4 in particular the past 1.5-2 years. They want the top 3 all feeling they are getting value for their money. That value usually comes in the form of periods of exclusivity and/or relative power dominance over the lower groups. It’s one thing to make things like diamonds on the newest characters, awakened abilities, and higher stars (especially on characters like zugs and zim) exclusive to top spenders. This gives them an advantage to as you point out dominate the competition of ppl who don’t spend as much. It’s another to make the character needed to unlock the full potential of a team exclusive to only top spenders for a year. And the reason I say krakens, not whales, isn’t because they are the only ones who benefit from this. I say that because we know Scopely listens to krakens. I’m not sure that is the case for whales. So, I didn’t want to say Scopely listens to whales without anything to confirm that was true.

Didn't see Pym or Black Bolt, but thought Iron Man rework and Mr Fantastic especially were due and we got Thing and Namor reworks. Maybe we get a new team with Human Torch soon to in another year, Invisible Woman gets a rework, pulls them all together with maybe Franklin Richards as a 5th. The unlock for Captain Britian sounds convoluted and awful though.
So everyone will have this team eventually. What this is really aiming to do is make non whales expand and upgrade their rosters for Crucibles. No more one taps, now 2 or 3 taps. Make everyone invest more. Really hurts plp like myself just enough built up for crucible to have a one defense cause a missed attack and I'm still able to one tap most of the time. I love this team, plug and play options, legendary reworks for some crappy old toons, all sorts of great stuff, but then we got to the new toons. If they made this Crucible Offense instead of Crucible, at least on the new toons, everyone would love it! I really hope you and the community fights back on this, because a plug and play offensive team would be beloved by everyone. Sure, the Captain Britain release is trash, but all the reworks are great and I genuinely think the community would be overjoyed with a great new team and so many reworks, with Britain being the prize for spenders. Also, does this mean the Zombies gonna have awakened abilities now?
thats the thing right heavy spenders get good stuff now how can a f2p or light spender compete? or even play pvp modes that make near 60% of the game daily(war, crucible, pvp even real time arena) and who can heavy spenders play with if f2p and light spenders leave?
i would actully love to see for 1 - 2 months just reworkds or something trully old like more PD(pocket dimensions) STARK tower over sword sattelite A a rework for Completed DD to get some scrap rewards that can be anything ranging from gear to gold or exp for characters. you complete dd 15 times and thats it... there is no pay off basically

Hmm, I'm not seeing this as a full team. I'm seeing this as a Cabal-type where you put 3 on defense with two plug and plays and keep the others for offense with two more plug and plays. Or even just split them up into pairs of two to make 3 more teams nastier. Perhaps the idea is even that part of the team is a masterkey for the other part of team. Of course some nuts will put the 5 best ones in a room, but for the rest of us mixing will likely be optimal. So except for Captain Britian sounding like he'll likely be nothing but a mirage less accessible than Mephisto for F2P it actually all sounds kind of interesting. Or I could be wrong and Scopely may have just given everyone refusing to loosen their wallets for the company a damn good reason to quit the game.
I think that Britain passive in CC, speed bar can't be gain does not affect toons that have speed up. It's the same as the Iron Patriot passive. Speed up can still occur but not speed bar. I think that's my understanding.
With illuminati the big spender will control cc game mode which is an important source of credit to unlock good amount of characters and one of the best in Black knight.

crucible is already a dead mode for anyone not using their wallet... their refusal to fix the trophy crunch ensured that
