Excellent review, thank you. It has made me go and check out a handlebar riser as I'm 193cm tall and don't want to be hunched over on my daily commute. I think I'll be ordering one of these.
Did you do it ? We are the same height, atm i use a 62cm frame height trekking bicycle with a raised handle bar, fitting me perfectly, making it a very large bike. My concern with the C29 is the frame not fitting my height at all.
Best review. I remember you sharing the tire issue on the Facebook group. What are the changes you would make with the extra 150 euros. I wish you touched that a bit
If I added this thread, the video would be 5 minutes long. I can see from the statistics that people watch 2-3 minutes max anyway and they are not interested in the rest :) Regarding Your question: - Definitely a hydraulic kit: I just bought one for 50 USD from AliExpress. When it arrives, I will make a video of the setup and the results. - Quite possibly stronger spokes: Something is already clicking from the tension. - In the longer term: I plan to replace the rear derailleur and shifters because the ones in the current kit are very basic and quite clunky. - Stiffer and better mudguards: If you need them, the ones in the current kit rattle with every slightest bump. - Handlebar riser kit: For me, a kit to raise the handlebars by 5-10 cm is necessary because I feel strain in my wrists (5-7 USD). - Handlebar mounting screws: These are very delicate and tend to loosen, which causes the whole assembly to creak. - Front fork: The current one is basic with spring suspension. I would consider upgrading to an oil-based fork with greater travel, which would be better suited for the rough off-road riding that I enjoy. - Crankset and derailleurs: Maybe just out of pure whim, I'd like to tinker with these components in general.
@Jotem_global Thank you. This is detailed and helpful. I just received the hydraulic brake I ordered from duotts website too. You emphasized on the mechanical brake and I totally agree.i will work with these information
@@JotemTV Many thanks for the reply. I think I will get Halfords to slime them. Then at least if I do get a puncture they will replace inner tubes for free.
got mine last week so still testing all the settings, derailleur needs some adjustments so thats the first thing on my list to sort out, breaks are fine when set right, front break needs to be soft, otherwise you fly of the handlebars on a fast stop. setting it to 67 unlocks, but gives full power in lower speeds. you have set p3 at 36volts? its only for an accurate battery status on display, its not regulating the max voltage i believe. or did yours come with an 36volts polly? p7 is set at 01, but 80 works too it seems, how did you came up to 80?( its usually magnets * rotations of motor gear for 1 full 360 cicle) , and have set p18 to 50 that seems to lower the watts to 250watts to tame this beast.
Thank you for fantastic review .but in level 1 power assist can you ride slow around local streets .can you cycle bike at 5 to 10 mph using electric power .thank you
Your problem is most likely that the disc may be bent. This is because during the rotation of the wheel, the caliper hits a bend and rubs. The best solution is to write to duotts and have them send a new disc or visit a bike service to straighten it. I ended up buying a hydraulic kit for this bike and I am very happy (video available on the channel)
@@JotemTV I emailed them after watching your video and seeing they do respond, will see what they say back. I was actually thinking of just changing out the brakes, so will have a look for your video on that.
ChatGPT: The Duotts C29 electric bike has a maximum load capacity of 120 kg. This includes the rider and any additional cargo on the bike, such as on the rear rack. Its aluminum alloy frame and components ensure a durable and sturdy build suitable for urban commutes and moderate off-road use.
Hi, did they send you the same brand of tyre and inner tube? I have had the bike for three days. Today I was commuting to work for the first time on it (rode 16 miles on it the previous day without issue) and the rear tyre exploded. I was going above 20mph so it was almost a nasty accident. Cut my thumb but no major injuries thankfully. I am now worried about it happening again. I think I'll buy my own tyre and inner tubes as I have inspected the exploded ones and they seem very thin.
Yes they did send me the same inner tube and tire. My front tire exploded and I put in new parts from them. Now I was going to record the effects for you after installing hydraulic brakes. I went to the same place as shown in this review. 12 km from home and a walk back, because something punctured my inner tube... in the rear wheel :) I was just in Decathlon now and bought popular inner tubes (2at once). It's a low cost, but I don't want to make a catapult at 40 kmh
Did you find any third party battery that fits into this? Sadly the first model was a 5th pins one and there are many batteries for it, but ours it a 4pins and i cant find good aftermarket batteries with a 4pins in europe.
I haven't had any problems with the battery, so I haven't looked into it at all yet. I suspect it's just a matter of matching pins, because in the controller you can change the operating mode of even this battery. Even increase its voltage, but at the cost of higher power, the operating time is significantly shorter.
@@JotemTV If you find something please let me know, mine is also new, but we need to find alternatives. I know users who have the 1st edition and now they ride larger distances and their battery last longer cause they bought something which contains good cells like samsung lg etc. Duotts battery probably has oem in it.
I was looking for the exact same thing. I'm checking on Ali express for an extra hailong battery with maby the 17,5 AH or 20 AH. But I don't no if everything is compatible with the duotts.

Grazie

Great review! I have just bought this bike. I'm a bit concerned about the tyres exploding! Would you recommend getting them slimed?
this is an option. you can also install better tubes, but also check the rims well to see if they have well-ground edges.
@@JotemTV Many thanks for the reply. I think I will get Halfords to slime them. Then at least if I do get a puncture they will replace inner tubes for free.
I have this bike, how can I prevent my tyres exploding buy better quality inner tubes?
Yup, or inflate to max 3.3bar

If I am not wrong bike doesn’t come with throttle. Did u set it up or it’s included?
It's included and already plugged in and configured

You can, but using only throttle assistance. PAS on level 1 will accelerate You to 20 km/h (12 mph)
It's a great bike, the problem I have is I can't get the front brake lined up

Can I raise the handlebar higher?
No, You cant without adapter. It costs around 6-10 eur

So you have to change everything from this cheap chinese junk before its good? Yeah... Ok
Even if you did it’d still probably be cheaper than the competition…
