Wonderful news for him knowing his 10x Great Grandfather helped save his wife’s life ! and thru the bloodlines you are HERE! Beautiful , scary times back in 1600’s !
She was ACCUSED of being a witch. Men tended you accuse women of witchcraft back then for all sorts of reasons. Most, if not all of them, had nothing to do with witchcraft. Such as, If a man was sexually attracted to a woman who wasn't his wife then she must have cast a spell on him.
The Salem witch trials had less of that specific brand of witchcraft accusation. It was way more like the neighbors already had beef with you, wanted your land, or got caught up in the whole moral panic.
My great Aunt was The good witch from Wizard of Oz. Her name was Billie Burke & her father was a famous singing clown in Ringling Barnum & Bailey Circus. And 6 degrees from him we're related to Mark Hamill. That's just on my moms side on my dads side My great Uncle is Babe Ruth. Also on my dad's side we're related to the physics who made up Clorox & he sold it so we have no royalties from that. Also were related to a maid who survived Titanic. Its really crazy everyone I look up my family tree someone else gets discovered that has interesting stories & are famous etc.
There was a maid that survived the Titanic, the Britannic and the Olympic wrecks. Her name was Violet Jessop. Is that the one you’re related to? Depending on how you look at it, she was either very lucky or absolutely cursed. I adored Billie Burke!
I am related to the Reverend George Burroughs who was executed by hanging, on August 19, 1692, his crime, witchcraft. I am also related to William Stoughton, the Chief Judge and Prosecutor at the Salem Witch Trials in 1692.
Oh, Burroughs' death was absolutely tragic and horrifying, if I remember correctly. He recited the Lord's Prayer successfully, but Cotton Mather still had him hung, even while everyone was begging for Reverend Burroughs to be granted mercy.
I hope Joseph Stern's descendants (he's the one jumping in with her to force her into the water) research their 10x great grandfather one day and see what a creep they descended from
There was also a mold growing on the barley or rye that year which is known to cause mental illness. I forgot the name of the mold, but it really, grows under certain conditions. They think it was a factor in the event.
This particular trial was in Connecticut, same year as the infamous Salem witch trials in Massachusetts. The 1692 Connecticut trials resulted in only 1 conviction (and she was later pardoned) versus the 30 (I think) convictions in Salem, with 19 of those being executed.
i know the celebrities have the privilege to get this kind of help but damn. you never read ur family history? and damn, you have an ancestor that petitioned against an actual witch trial in general and drove social feelings to save her. kinda bums me out that he knows absolutely nothing of historical witchcraft or history in general…am i wrong? but maybe i love history too much
He said nothing. He followed a group on twitter... He never said anything about vaccines...He shared a meme about Pfizer and big pharmacy being untrustworthy....
Jealousy, in my opinion, was at the root of many of the accusations.
old mean neighbors and karens were the cause…historicslly proven

ANd if a woman rejected his advances what best way to seek revenge than by accusing her of being a witch
@@86upsmaya right.

So why are all the accusers women?
Convenient
I got the chills seeing the actual pond, I can't imagine standing in it. 😱
My 9th great grandma was Mary Easty in Salem. I am really looking forward to meeting her in the next life.

was Colored.
@@BORN-to-Run What! A coloured man... did he have rainbow skin?
Wow, that’s incredible!
I'm pure bloodline witch from Salem. I'm king witch.

How fascinating his story is.
He is beautiful. Fascinating history

Oh wow, that's kind of bananas that you're the result of those two opposing sides.
Like being half Hatfield and half McCoy.
@@azurephoenix9546 Yes, it's sort of like, which side would you root for?
Thanks so much

The mold is LS D
Ergot...
Ergot was caused by bad rye, yes.
Thanks so much
Ergot poisoning probably didn't have much to do with Salem.
This series is great fun.
What a handsome guy.
Why all WDYTYA videos always have spoilers in the beginning?
well, its literally the title of the video
A "SICKnificant" part of history.
WE never know what's back there, and the
prices some of our ancestors paid.
Absolutely crazy
They were batsh*t crazy.
Interesting. Mine was too.
Really good news someone was saved from death during the women murders in the silly name of witches.
@ZacharyLevi-sh7jemost welcome xo
Where was this?
The trial was held in Fairfield, Connecticut Colony. Clawson was from Stamford.
i always thought Chuck seemed a bit crafty🤔
I was trying to follow Naomie’s genealogy journey, but they put her picture on Zachary’s video.😅
So he’s Shazam in real life too? 😂
Was this about the witch trials in Connecticut or Massachusetts? Connecticut had the first witch trials in America.

I just found out I’m a descendant of John proctors wife from the Salem witch trials….

Just reading some really wild stuff about Zachary Levi's comments on Covid, gender, etc. Hmmmmm....
No matter if you agree or disagree with his comments he has the right to believe, and say, in what he wants.
there are only 2 genders
What did he say about gender?
He said nothing. He followed a group on twitter... He never said anything about vaccines...He shared a meme about Pfizer and big pharmacy being untrustworthy....
Very sad story very amazing story to
It is so that that he had to look for a good man figure in his families past, when all he had to do was look in the mirror.
