honestly love that this expansion has more of a exploration and adventure feel to it rather then always being about war and the end of the world even tho it still has that as the main plot feels a lot less immediate and more about exploring the new dragon isles.
Me too, I'm glad we're done with faction wars and fighting villains of massive proportions (at least for now). This feels like the start of a whole new arc/saga. Plus given that Shadowlands left a sour taste for a lot of fans, I think this is a great one to go with. Dragon Isles have been speculated and whispered about for so long, plus it's all about dragons. I do like the fact that they are using this opportunity to involve the alliance and horde as a friendly expedition for both factions too.
I mean it does have the name of Warcraft lol but yeah it'll be refreshing to not be the "savior" of azeroth from the get go and be able to adventure without a world ending threat imminent
@@shdwfxgamerz7667 The stupid thing is that there's very little of the craft of war in Warcraft. It's all drama and magical might instead of strategy and logistics. Hell, Warhammer has more of the strategy aspect - and we know how hilarious dramatic the grimdarkness gets.
If you remember N'zoth from the Warbringers Azshara trailer/ cinematic & The Battle for Azeroth expansion, He was an Old God and the one that corrupted Deathwing.
Yes remember nzoth. But also remember we didn’t get much of him in our journey. It was like “N’zoth is coming! Look out” then 5 minutes later, “never mind we took care of him all is well” 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Yeah i know that is how a lot of people felt playing the shadow lands expansion. I could honestly tell you a lot of wow players were waiting for a long time for N'zoth and we finally got him and how he was handled in shadow lands pissed a lot of wow players off lol. It was really a huge disappointment and let down. But their are youtubers who do lore videos for wow and have done lore videos of the Old gods which includes N'zoth.
@@starknight2262 As someone who doesn't play but understands the lore to an extent I 100% agree. N'Zoth should've had his own expansion and the Black Empire should've been an entirely new zone.
@@xDinomanx I totally agree with you. Lore wise the old gods have been mentioned so much but barely ever made an appearance in the actual game especially N'zoth who from what i know has never been or appeared in any expansion until shadowlands. So it was a huge deal and a lot of wow players were really hyped and excited about it and then shadowlands happened and N'zoth was treated like a side character and his time in shadowlands was so quick and totally rushed. It was over and done with before you knew it. Like I said before Blizzard totally dropped the ball with N'zoth and it pissed a lot of people off.
There's actually 2 more "ingame" cinematics that came out yesterday that answer some questions about the Primalists goals and introduce Raszageth properly.
People talk about Neltharion's end, Malygos' End and Ysera's End, but poor Nozdormu knowing his fate and waiting for it to happen.. what a terrible curse.
This expansion is actually really fun. people are having a blast with the Dragonriding feature. Wich might seems Odd, since there as been Flying Mounts ever since the Burning Crusade expansion. But till now flying mounts where just that, a mount with wich you could travel freely throuhg the air, it was simply a new mode of movement, ther was nothing much else about it. Dragon riding is still "flying mount" but it is much more active and fun. Contrary to the old flying mounts, there is a limit to how far/much you can fly with Dragon riding( in theory, but once you unlock the appropriate talents and know how to fly your dragon, you can basically fly forever, but it is still very active). Your Dragon uses Vigor, a ressource that allows for your Dragon to do Aerial manoeuvres, stunts or simply taking off from the ground. Vigor resplenish only when you're on the ground, or if you have a high speed buff when going really fast, wich can be achieved through rapid ascend and descent (the game tries to mimic "real" flying physics) and some other means later on in the game. Ironicly this limitations, actually gives a sens of depth and "freedom", since you are actively flying your Mount by going up and down and taking speed boosts etc, while the Old flying mounts was just "Engage auto-run and go make a coffee or take a leak and come back 3 min later" people absolutly love it, and they are asking Blizz if they can implement this systeme of flying for either ALL flying mounts through out the previous extensions zones, or making your dragonmount be useable in the rest of the game (for now the dragonriding can be used ONLY in the Dragon isles), Blizz responds for now as been "huh...maybe we don't know we need to wait and see for now" The Exploration of the isles is actually fun and engaging, since there is many things and places to discover and there's also races tracks where you can try and beat the timer or even race agianst other players for rewards.
Long story short, as they say..: So the Titans are planet-sized beings. They float around as World Souls and eventually they "cocoon" where a planet forms around them. The current world of Azeroth is one such world with the Titan Spirit of Azeroth slowly maturing inside the planet. We saw them at the end of the Legion cinematics where they drag their Titan-brother Sargeras back to stop him from doing something with Azeroth (but Sargeras managed to stab the plnanet). Titans are creatures of Order (there are 6 elements, with 2 always opposing each other, so Order against Chaos, Life against Death, Light against Void) which means they are very much in favor of Order and predicatbility. They made machines to produce creatures made of Stone and Iron that followed the Titans' orders. But the Old Gods, creatures of Void and Chaos (and very much Lovecraft inspired) landed on Azeroth and started to meddle, resulting in the Stone and Iron creatures to become creatures of Flesh. Titans didn't like this as Flesh-creatures were susceptible to the Fear and corruption of Old Gods, but being of Flesh also allowed for Free Will. A being of Order does not like Free Will as that is inherently chaotic and unpredictable. Look back at the Matrix trilogy, the computers had to somehow include Free Will into their simulation but couldn't get it perfectly right, which is why the "anomaly" appears and when they reset the whole Matrix. Free Will messes with order and predictability. So while Proto-Dragons evolved some of them started to show signs of sentience and higher intelligence (like how we can see signs of intelligence in gorillas, dolphins, etc). Broadly speaking they all held some form of elemental power, such as Fire or Frost. At this time big bad dragon Galakrond from the first episode appeared and started to eat other dragons and grew impossibly large. Titan Keepers (creations by the Titans to act as stewards and managers of their ordering and their plan to make the sleeping Titan grow up and mature properly) didn't really want to interfere but one of them, Tyr, decided to assist some of the Proto-Dragons and defeat Galakrond. To show appreciation to the Dragons for helping to defeat Galakrond the Keepers later asked the Titans for assistance in ascending the Dragons into Guardians of the planet. They all gained one part that they were responsible for. Alexstraza, the red lady, was responsible for all Life, Nozdormu that we see in the first three was responsible to maintain the Prime Timeline (so that no one tries to meddle with outcomes by timetravelling). Nefarion was given the responsibility of the Earth. All the rocks, the ground, the magma, lava, volcanoes, mountains and all that was his domain. But the ground was also where the Old Gods had been imprisoned by the Titans before they left. So the Old Gods kept whispering like Grima Wormtounge in LotR, slowly and over eons showing how much power they could offer. Neltharion stood his ground and created the Drakthyr to help fight the Primalists but as the Primalists destroyed his Control-gauntlet he felt that he had no other option and relinquished to the Old Gods whispering and they offered him immense power, to withstand the Primalists. But this all took a toll on Neltharion and you saw what happened in the Cataclysm into cinematic where they put iron armor on his body because his power and madness threatens to destroy his physical form. By the end he was so proper mad that he formed tentacles which is very connected with the Old Gods. In general, fleshy stuff is very Old God related. Tentacles and flesh. As far as I understand based on a few quests during Beta-testing of the game (so I guess SPOILREZ) is that the Primalists just in general dislikes the Titans. They are in favor of the Chaotic nature of the elements. Now, this is pure speculaton at this point, but some players ponder if the Titans ascending the Dragons into the Aspects locked them down and limited their power. That the Dragons should really have had unfettered Elemental powers at their disposal and that the Titans locking the Elemental Lords away early on in the planets life as well as "ordering" the dragons by making them Aspects to some degree limited their free will to become whatever they wanted. A bit like "You stole our childhood". But the exact nature of the Primalists will be revealed during the leveling and questing in the early parts of the expansion! So expect a few cinematics to be revealed as players first enter the new expansion (28th Nov) so check in maybe a week or three later!
Cool, you watched part of my recommendation. I suggest you see the other videos I suggested, "Everything you need to know about Dragons in Warcraft" and "Warcraft's Stupidest Dragon" by Platinum WoW for context. They are really entertaining and informative.
One note on the Dracthyr is that Neltharion(Deathwing) actually created them. They are imbued with the power of all five dragonflights. So they can use Red, Blue, Green, Black, and Bronze dragon magic. Which is one of the reasons Neltharion would consider them a risk without absolute control over them as thy most likely could have overpowered him with their training and magic. Not that Neltharion was right, just paranoid. I've also heard some people theorize that Neltharion locked the Dracthyr away to protect them from his own corruption. Which is a possibility as Neltharion was a great guardian before his fall.
Thanks for letting us know that. So he was just a really controlling parent haha. And we actually buy him locking them away to keep them safe. As Neltharion wasn’t wholly evil just corrupted 🤔
He did create them. Technically Dracthyr are the first version of a Dragonsoul: A combination of all Dragonflights and mortal Power with a consciousness. He did not seal them to save them but because he wasn't able to control them without Tyrs Hand anymore. That's why it was all jumbled for her after it was destroyed. And this is also why - when he created the Dragonsoul we know of - it was only a Tool and not a living being anymore. This way he could use it without the need for a control artifact.
Really looking forward to Dragonflight, love me some dragon lore and story. I'll be putting together a playlist of all the Dragonflight cinematics/cutscenes as they come out. Already got a fews more from the Dracthyr starer area and prepatch event. More to come once Dragonflight come out is a few weeks. th-cam.com/play/PLvNVWs7Ou-9vm459h2cbTHEg2c-yGl9sz.html See the two Pre-Expansion Patch - Raszageth the Stormeater videos for what the Primalists are and what they want. :) What we know so far. The Primalists are the followers of the Primal Incarnates, ancient proto-dragons that chose not to side with the titans and the Dragon Aspects. This caused a rift between them and the Aspects, and in response, Neltharion created the Dracthyr. A war ensued between dragonkind and Primalists. During the conflict, the Primalists turned back to the elements and infused themselves with their strength against their brethren. The Primal Incarnates were sealed away, Neltharion lock away the Dracthyr. Flash forward almost 20,000 years, The Dragons return to the Dragon Isles, and one of the Primal Incarnates, Raszageth the Stormeater is set free and the Dracthry are awaken as well.
Thanks for putting that playlist together and sharing it with us! Very helpful 😊 and appreciate the quick info on Primalists so far and giving us some more details 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Your welcome!! And thanks you for the amazing videos. Just find your channel a few weeks ago. Looking forward to future videos! :) Working my thought the backlog. Finish the Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo lists.
I like the point of view of the storm eater, like they were somehow erased from the glorious history of the aspect for rejecting the benediction of the titans... It's an interesting way to "retcon" the lore of the battle of Galakrond, and add 4 more proto-dragons who fought him.
I wonder if it is the fate of all original dragon aspects to get corrupted. Neltharion - The aspect of Earth Became corrupted due to constant influence of an old god who was imprisoned in his domain. Became Deathwing Malygos - The aspect of Magic Became mad when he realized how magic was used, chose to limit the usage of magic and control it by himself. Instead of following his duty of teaching and protecting magic, he chose to claim it. Ysera - The aspect of Dreams Became corrupted by a nightmare due to a direct influence of a nightmare seed planted into her heart. Nozdormu - The aspect of Time He is not corrupted yet, but as the aspect of time, his future is known, he will eventually turn into Murozond, the corrupt aspect of infinity, who lives outside of time. Alextraza - The aspect of Life She is the only one who is not believed to be corrupt in any way, in the cinematic she was called the heart and the conscience of the dragons. The worst that has happened to her, was that she was enslaved by Orcs, and forced to breed them an army of red dragons. Also, I do not believe Neltharion was evil before his corruption. Personaly, I think he imprisoned Dracthyr because he knew that was the only way to protect them, from himself.
The Legacies series dive heavily into the narrative of the upcoming expansion, and its backstory. The "Take to the skies" launch cinematic is more of a nod to the old cinematics like the original one for World of Warcraft and to a degree Burning Crusade - Little to no talk and instead giving the viewer a preview of the new stuff (Dragons, the dragon isles, dragon riding (new flying mechanic), new race and class with the dracthyr, and a look at one of the raid bosses (the big Primalist lightning dragon). The dracthyr ate not the only humanoid dragonkin the aspects made. The drakonids are their close cousins, though they are beefier and tend to stay withing their own flight. The titan artifact allowed Neltharion to both make the dracthyr very ordered and disciplined, but also allowed him to make them from all the different dragonflights rather than just the black one.
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames As always, Titan artifacts are a double-edged sword. They can provide incredibly useful powers and abilities, but they can also cause much harm and pain. Old God artifacts are a nine-edged sword made of living rock and caterpillars, who gets drunk and sings karaoke in your head at the top of their six lungs twice a week. Could be useful, could be bad, but regardless - you don't keep all of your sanity either way.
This expansion has really changed a lot about how Warcraft tells a story. It seems to be a lot more cohesive, and it also sparks a desire to explore and just experience the world. Very cool so far.
Great vid as always; I love seeing your reactions to the WoW stuff! Unfortunately, most the dragon lore for WoW is found in the novels, so there are not a ton of easy resources to learn more about them. Nobbel87 made some really comprehensive, high-quality summary videos, but unfortunately each one (there is one video for each of the 5 dragonflights) is about 30 minutes long so it is probably too much to do a react for. There should be a ton of cinematics coming out on the 28th though that will go into more detail on the primalists, so I look forward to seeing your thoughts in a few weeks.
We don't know a lot about the primalists, but Raszageth - the big storm dragon there - is a lot smarter than the cutscenes set her up to be. She's very anti-Titan, and she feels that the dragons being uplifted has stolen their potential from them, turned them into something different than what they were meant to be. I theorize - with very little evidence - that their attack on Neltharion was against the Titan artifact he wore, not him. The thing is, because the Dragons that we know and their Aspects are so connected to the Titans, and we like our aspects, Raszageth is a villain and a threat despite having some pretty good points.
When Nozdormu said his story is already written he meant he became/will become Murozond leader of the Infinite Dragonflight. We fought him in Cataclysma d ended his loop.
I love how starting around 7:40 Deathwing’s Cataclysm motifs start creeping in then overpowering the music. Deathwing had an amazing theme, not even by Blizz standards
From what I have read and seen the Primalists rejected the gift of the Titans and wanted to get rid of all the gifts. Also Neltharion aka Deathwing was hearing the voices of the Old Gods since he turned from proto drake to the Aspect of Earth. So those voice kept telling him to never trust anyone and they were all out to get him etc so he felt he needed to use the titan glove to force control of them. Needless to say there are plenty of books out there that are worth reading.
Funfact About Galakrond you could consider him the first necromancer on Azeroth. considering his hunger was so massive, he massively mutated with vast amount small limbs here n there, and those he didn't finish eating, eventually raised up as undead dragons, protecting it's devouring master.
Looks great! Love the dragon general character and I can never get enough Alexstrasza! FYI, Alexstrasza, as you guessed is the ginormous red dragon at the end, she is the queen or the red flight and the embodiment of life, that is why, when you see her breathing fire, verdant life immediately starts sprouting. Got to admit, going into the dragon lore in WoW felt kinda strange after D&D, considering that red dragons in D&D proudly declare themselves to be the most evil creatures in existence.
Yeah the cleansing of fire is something we aren’t used to either. Remember there was some green mist that was killing people and we saw the dragons use fire and thought it was overkill instead of them actually coming to help cleanse that 😅🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames The green mist is a plague created by Sylvanas's alchemists. It was originally meant to be used to try and defeat the Lich King because it can kill the undead just as easily as the living but her head alchemist betrayed her and attacked the horde, the alliance and the Lich King all at once. Then the red dragons came to burn away the plague and to grant peace to those who were horrifically dying from it.
I need to add something: Do you remember the undead dragon from the Wrath of the Lich King trailer? That’s Sindragosa! She was the companion of Malygos, the then-leader of the Blue Dragonflight. In Dragonflight, there is an echo of her, where she is reunited with Kalecgos, and we free both her and Malygos' souls, unite them, and let them be free together. The best scene ever!
The Primalists are Proto Dragons who have refused the touch of the titans that created the Dragon Aspects and Flights... They see the Titans Order as a stain and seek to burn it out to return the world to the care of the Primal Elements... Or that is what I got from the Dracthyr starting guest line I played trough today...
The full CGI cinematic was visually impressive, as always, but I really felt like this one lacked something all previous ones had, a moment of serious hype that makes you excited for the next expansion. Like Sylvanas yelling "For the Horde" in the BFA cinematic or the moment the undead dragon breaks out of the ice and flies over the army in the Lich King one.
If you guys want to learn more about the Dragonflights and their roles, I would definitely look at a guy named PlatinumWoW. He's a content creator that does lore content that is endorsed by Blizzard themselves. Definitely ask him, but he does amazing work on his videos. I know you guys were also wondering about trolls and their history, seeing as how they're one of the first races on Azeroth, PlatinumWoW also has a few videos on them too. I just recently found your channel and binge watched all of your Overwatch and WoW reactions and I must say, you guys are a lot more observant than most other people, and you definitely have earned my support
I believe the sleeping big green dragon was Ysera, the guardian of the Emerald Dream, a separate realm altogether. Brightwing (A fairydragon, not a dragon) describes the Emerald Dream as "The Emerald Dream is not a dream and has no emeralds. Big thoughts, head hurts now." This quote is entirely not canon from Heroes of the Storm, but I always loved the quote. The big red one was Alexstraza, The Life Binder, Queen of the Dragons, the Mother of Dragons and the Aspect of Life itself. Thus her "fire" created life as she flew by. Other than Death Wing, it wouldn't surprise me if we get to see a little bit of Malygos as well, former Aspect of Magic and leader of the Blue Dragonflight who kinda flew over the cuccoos nest as well as Kalecgos, the current leader of the Blue Dragonflight. The Bronze Dragonflight is lead by Nozdormu, the main narrator here. They are the Aspect of Time and kind of try to work as the "time police", but... it doesn't always go to plan and sometimes they make more messes than fix. My personal favorite Bronze Dragon is probably Chromie, or Chronormu, who uses the visage of a small blond female Gnome and while a keen time traveller, doesn't always keep a good track of things.
The "big green dragon" firstly was not sleeping, and secondly it's the pre-order mount, not Ysera. She is in Shadowlands, where I PRAY she stays... despite the already datamined quests and ruining of that arc. *sigh*
There's boss that will say unique lines depending on your race. They added a line for the new playable dragon people and calls them one of death wings failed experiments. You learn in cata that he was doing a ton of experiments on dragons and made like the chromatic dragons whatever. I'm sure we'll get the lore as the expansion goes on.
Hmm this is the part of the dragon flights storyline that hasn't been much explored since the novels about them that much to be covered so hopefully more information about them and update patches too for the storyline regarding this new expansion.
The new flight system is incredibly fun. I'm 53 and I feel like a kid againg. I'm having a blast. We don't know exactly the Primalists motivations but everything points to the Titans having deceived us (and the dragons). The Old Gods were perhaps never the bad guys. The glove Neltharion was wearing was controlling the Drac'thyr and now we know the Titans were controlling the dragons.
Well, we learned that not 5 but 9 proto-dragons fought Galakrond, but we've never heard of the primalist before... Because they never accepted the titan's gift, and never became aspect, they kinda were pushed under the rug after the civil war... Kinda erased from history. So yeah, I wouldn't like that too... My guess is that titans saw the elemental forces of Azeroth as a bad thing and sent the aspect deal with it - because it is apparented to the old gods allies -, and the primalist probably saw the primal sources of Azeroth as something natural and fought for it, and lost. Something like that ? It's just a guess tho'.
I do hope this expansion does a better or more engaging job at telling a story. and yes, the big red dragon you see towards the end is Alexstrasza (The Life Binder/ at one point also tortured by Deathwing to procure more hatchlings.) She is an interesting one imo because despite all the atrocities, she's still able to see or reason if you will- the why's/how lesser beings (like dwarves, orcs, etc.) do what they did, and forgive them. Furthermore as a Red they can heal and bring life - near the end of that cinematic that was what she was doing, turning a barren dead area back into what looks like a lush and sprawling forest, pretty cool. :)
WAS WAITING ON THIS! i love the content! keep it up =) your always welcome to play the game. sometimes it disappoints but you watching and learning the lore. great !
We haven’t gotten into mmo yet just because of time investment to be good enough at it. Though as we start to game more and hopefully can maybe step away from our day jobs, it’ll allow us more time to play 😀
Being a vanilla player I’m glad they are bringing back the exploration aspect heavy In this expansion rather then the tired alliance vs horde plot lines.
I don't know if you already know this, and if you do, I apologize. Each of the five Dragonflights governs over an aspect of the world. Red Dragonflight: Life. Green Dragonflight: Nature. Blue Dragonflight: Magic. Bronze Dragonflight: Time. Black Dragonflight: Earth.
The story is still early since we're experiencing it as it comes out right now, but so far the motive of the Primalists is to oppose the Titans. The Titans are godlike beings that have historically been "our" side, loosely. They represent order, many mortal races are descendants of their creations, and the Aspects served them. However, they're also seen as sometimes cold, calculating, controlling, and indifferent to life outside of their control. Even us as the players, have not always seen the good side of the Titans. While they have helped us more than they haven't, there have also been times that the Titan's machinations deemed Azeroth "too corrupted", and we had to stop them from wiping life clean to start anew on the planet. The Primalists see the Aspects as traitors, and slaves to the Titans. They remember Azeroth as it was before Titan control, which was mostly under the control of the elements. The leaders of the Primalists are great elemental dragons like Razageth. They were close with the Aspects before they took the Titan's power, after which they waged war on one another. The whole titan-slave angle is somewhat proven by some lore books we've found in the new dungeon, which state that the Titans had been using magic-treated water to essentially brainwash dragon eggs to make them obedient.
The Aspects were blessed and changed by the magic of the Titans, which is inherently the essence of Order. The Primalists have tapped into the inherently more natural chaotic elemental powers that all dragons were apart of. So the conflict is primarily, from what we see, is about destroying the other group. The Titans, and maybe Aspects, wanted all dragons to be tied into Order. While the Primalists rebelled against that idea. Also yes the big red dragon near the end is Alextrasza, the queen of dragons, and Aspect of life. So her flames can either destroy or cause life to grow in it's path.
Philosophical conflict. The primalist are dragons imbued with Elemental magic(storm ,water, earth, fire) and they hate the titans bcs they don't trust them. The five aspects are imbued with titan magic(dream[rebirth],magic[order] , Life, Time and guardian of the earth[azeroth in this case]. The primalist belive that the titans are bad news , they dont hate the aspects but the titans , but they have to fight the aspects , thats what we know till now
The Primalists consider the Titan-blessed Dragons as corrupted and the Titans tyrannical. This is due to the Titans interfering with the Dragon's life pools (where they keep/hatch their eggs!) and generally aligning them with the Titan's ideologies, brainwashing them. The Primalists are Proto-Dragons who employ Elemental Magic rather than Arcane/Order Magic, which is what Alexstrasza, Wrathion, Kalecgos, Nozdormu etc use. (The Proto-Dragons got lil dinosaur arms) - (side note: they also venerate Galakrond, the big ass cannibal dragon in the first Legacies' episode!) We don't know much about the Primalists, but Razsageth is one of the four Primal Incarnates that fought against Titan-aligned dragons a long time ago. The Primalists are Dragon-Supremacists, so they believe that dragonkind should dominate all other species. They were defeated and imprisoned 20,000 years ago (in game) I recommend watching Razsageth's Escape and Tempest Unleashed cinematics - it adds some context to what's going on. The Primalists aren't the good guys; they're still highly dragon-supremacist and racist, but they have some very solid reasons to dislike the Titans/Titan Keepers! :) I hope this lore helps you understand Dragonflight & its story. (Love the reaction videos btw!)
It will be good to glance into the new in-game cinematics, as well. The Primalists are proto drakes who rejected the gift of the Titans, which is what ascended the aspects and their flights. The goal of the Primalists is to more or less tear down everything about the Titans, which is an interesting goal. The Titans have long been considered the benevolent gods and creators of all good in the WoW universe. They are pure Order magic. However, we're starting to see that they may not be so good. That, perhaps, the Titans really only care about themselves and their own goals. There've been some interesting lore reveals recently and, if I'm honest, I think the Primalists have a point. I would not be, at all, shocked if this expansion turns from use fighting against the Primalists into us somewhat siding with them. I do not trust the Titans further than I can throw them and considering that they're skyscraper sized, I can't throw them to begin with.
the tragedy of Deathwing is he was tormented by the whispers of the old gods for thousands of years, until that moment when Raszegeth attacked him and the Dracthyr and he finally stopped resisting and gave into the power. As the aspect of Earth he had control over the earth of the planet. He was already immensely powerful, but it came with a catch, he felt the entire weight of the planet pressing down on him all the time, and the old gods were imprisoned in the earth, making him highly susceptible to their whispers and influence. While he always had lofty goals, like he wanted Alexstraza ( the big red dragon ) and Ysera to be his mates, he was loyal to the others and did fight to protect Azeroth loyally, all the while dealing with being endlessly crushed and tormented by the old gods.
I always enjoy your talks at the end of every reaction, I wonder what's this expansion is gonna be about exactly. Pre-patch is live and there are 4 videos you guys can react to. Two introductions to the dragonisles for Horde and Alliance and 2 on engine prerendered cutscenes. Look for them on Wowhead channel for example. Keep up the good work!
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Hey, yeah. Dragonflight launches in less than two weeks so we can expect to get from 3 to 6 [Imo] new cutscenes as per usuall when it comes to the new expansion. It should be a little more cheery compared to loom and gloom from previous ones but we'll see! :D Take care guys.
If you guys want to continue your journey back to Arthas like you guys mentioned multiple times, below is a complete Warcraft 3 story video about him that I found: Story of Lich King Arthas (2020)All Cinematics - Part 1 [Warcraft 3 Lore] th-cam.com/video/NtRMkhfs-z8/w-d-xo.html It's basically all in-game cinematics in Warcraft 3 regarding Arthas alone.
There were more Flights then just 5. The difference is just: 5 took the grace of the Titans and the others thought themselves already as they should be and saw those "titan graced" Aspects as abominations. Titanic Power vs "natural" Power is the war between the Aspects and the Primalists.
I love your channel! I found it a couple of weeks ago and honestly I fell in love, just a question, are you guys gonna react to any kind of stuff related to honkai impact 3rd? I would love to see a reaction video of it:)
I am really curious if we will see Neltharion again. Maybe Nozdormu becomes Murozond because we bring Neltharion back from a timeline to defeat the Primalists or need the Titan artifact. Especially what is in there that gives the hand so much power. Maybe we will finally see Galakgrond ingame. Above all, we must not forget that Turalyon is currently sitting on the throne in Stormwind. Above all, I think we will see Odyn again. He already didn't like the fact that the Titans had taken over the dragons.
The whole plotline with the primalists is brand new so we are only beginning to learn about the lore, but what has been revealed so far is that the primalists are the proto-dragons that rejected the titan's gift which I am hoping they show as a very two-sided story as for a very long time the Legion is considered evil even though they really represent chaos and are trying to stop the Old God's from corrupting a world soul, while the Titans have long been seen as good, but they truly represent order and WoW has begun to dig into many of these aspects that they are not truly good or evil, as it is a matter of perspective. Will be cool to see what lore we learn as they seem to be hinting a lot of hidden lore, as even Norzdormu's wording in the first Legacy video as says the world is... young that pause seems intentional and like he has to stop himself from speaking the truth for some reason.
I'm not surprised at Nozdormu's hesitation. Back in the time of Galakrond the world was young-ish, but hardly a baby. The rule of the Elemental Lords, the Black Empire of the Old Gods, the coming of the titans, the Ordering of Azeroth and the imprisonment of the Old Gods had all already happened by then.
@@suntiger745 That's a good point, just makes me think there is more hidden lore that will be revealed around the dragon flight and the titans in this expansion.
Hi, the expansion dropped but I would maybe advise you to wait a bit (a week or two) until all the cutscenes are out so you can watch them in the proper order^^ For that I recommend channel Noone182 - he's uploaded "Dragonflight Intro all cinematics" so far and I'm sure others will continue :)
Also, Emberthal is a lady dracthyr, i noticed you kept calling her "he" lol the big red dragon near the end with the jewelry was Alexstrahza, The Life Binder. and yea, she can use her fire to heal, as well as hurt lol
I love your reactions! The youtuber Nobbel87 has a wealth of wow lore videos and has recently made videos for each dragonflight. Also if you want more humorous wow videos I suggest Nixxiom Machinima especially his "How to" series.
With regard to the primalists, it seems they oppose the titans for some reason, but they also dont like the void or any other force (i presume). Primals were what existed on azeroth before the titans imposed order. It seems like rather than evil, they see problems with the titans we do not quite view in the same light. For example the fact that "order", one of the major cosmic forces, can be used to infuse obedience just like mind control. Odin used water that essentially starts to mind control dragon eggs so that from the moment dragons are born they are titan-bound (this doesnt apply to the aspects or their offspring, only dragons in the isles). While everything looks amazing and pristine where titans are concerned, WoW keeps hinting that the titans arent as good as we have been treating them. It's possible that much of this will fall on Odyn, since we already know some titans have always been against using artifacts or power to bend the will of living beings, but Odyn was always against the ascension of the dragon aspects and never trusted them, and it seems he did something about it. An interesting bit about chapter 3 is that while Neltharion appeared to block the lighting strike, it might turn out that actually Razagath intentionally wanted to destroy the titan artifact (freeing the dracthyr), this is supported by their ideology that dragons (and by extension azeroth) should reject titan influence. Makes me wonder if azeroth is even a titan at all as we have been told by...the titans. I speculate after some initial conflict and perhaps even killing at least one of their leaders, we will learn from them and they will learn from us, might end up working with the primalists to deal with a bigger threat (Nozdormu never confirms that the primalists are the big threat to azeroth, if you notice, could go either way), and this could be the expansion we "unmask" odyn as a villain and fight him. on and the dracthyr are one of Deathwing's creations/experiments they arent technically his children, they were created from the essence of all 5 dragon aspects (which is what makes them powerful). They do have daddy issues though
The Primalists are purist dragons, when the Aspects became... well 'Aspects' and accepted the Titan's gift, the Primalists were not happy, they sort of see the Titan's as false gods and want to wash the Titan's stain from Azeroth, whereas everyone else sees the Titan's as not exactly gods, but they are a higher power, hell Titan's are even BORN from planets, inside of Azeroth is a sleeping/growing Titan named Azeroth.
they do kind of explain this in the Dracthyr introduction inside of WoW because they released November 15th as a playable race, I'm sure if you search it up you may be able to find a no commentary playthrough of the starting area, i'd say it would be about a 40 minute-1 hour playthrough with cuts to the unnecessary parts of it.
Would love to see you react to one of plague tale requiem trailers and maybe play it in the future it’s such an incredible and beautiful story. there is 2 parts though so you might wanna check the first game plague tale innocence
the Primalists believe that the only powers that should be ruling Azeroth should be the elements themselves, not the Titans and their constructs. of which many mortal races were evolved from the Titans constructs, namely Humans, Dwarves and Gnomes, via "The Curse of Flesh" which the Old Gods cursed the constructs with, so that they would be weaker, as they served as guards that kept the Old Gods imprisoned.
HJEY THERE GUYS! Ive been trying to catch the occasional videos but never sem to catch your livestreasm. id oyu ever get around to Halo 3 or 4 or wahtever?
The Primalists think that the dragons where corrupted by the Titans, and that they should have lived a more primitive and savage life like they did when they where proto-dragons. About the different kind of dragons, who are called flights, you have five of them sorted by color The red flight is the protector of life. It's leader is Alexstraza the Lifebinder (the Big dragon at the end) The blue flight is the gardian of magic. It's former leader was Malygos but we killed him. The current leader is Kalecgos. The bronze flight is the gardian of time. It's leader is Nozdormu. The green flight is thé gardian of nature. It's former leader was Ysera, who was killed during Legion and we saw her in Shadowlands. The current leader is her daughter Merythra. And the black flight is the supposed gardian of the world's deapth. It's former leader Neltharion, more known as Deathwing after his curruption by the old gods. Almost every black dragon was killed during WoW history. Only two remain: Irion and Ebyssian.
I read that nozdormu is referring to yogg-saron returning... Madness of deathwing was actually an easier fight than the boss fight before it spine of deathwing especially in raid finder because it required a lot coordination between all 25 players.
There are actually 2 more cinematics that recently just came out, with one of them giving you some idea about why the Primalists are...them i guess lol. i stopped playing halfway through battle for azeroth, and i did not play through Shadowlands, i will fully admit that i am so very..very VERY tempted to go back for dragonflight because...dragons. and the Aspects have always been some of my favorite characters outside of Arthas
the primal dragons believe that titans corrupted feral dragons with power of order (which is kinda technically true) so primal dragons united with the very powers of azeroth herself - the elements - to fight this corruption there're so many forces in warcraft's universe which makes it so interesting, every great power wants to get ahead of the others we have titans and their order (arcane magic), old gods with the void, burning legion with the fel, the naaru with the light and so on if you want to check out the lore in entertaining format - you should give a go to platinum wow's videos but maybe his videos are abit too goofy for you - you could check new video series from Bellular about dragonflight leaders: th-cam.com/video/bvApPfVyFJM/w-d-xo.html
I just can't get excited about anything Warcraft, anymore. I just enjoy dungeons in FF14 a lot more. This whole bit of lore seems like a massive asspull to extend the franchise.
i dont plan to play dragonflight since launch, i will wait for patch or two to consider it... simply whole lore premise just doesnt resonate with me will wait for when whole expansion tone changes, and that will come with patches and will wait till lore shape it self better (right now its preety much empty, because they try to establish new beginning) i dont like new race 'drakthyr' and how things look now, but i am interested in new approach to game systems, new philosophy of content creation and that they finally stop doing 'treadmill mechanics' that simply killed this game (in gameplay mechanics terms) also they will finally stop treating expansions as opened and closed things... they really damaged lore of warcraft and pacing of story by that well, i am not exited for this expansion, but still interested imho dragonflight promotion materials are the worst of all up to this date... earlier harbingers, warbringers, cinematics are much better than dragonflight
I really hope Blizzard does a lot better with this expansion then their last. Shadowlands felt very rushed and it was poorly done and executed as far as the story goes. A good example of this is with N'zoth and Ashsara. They barley did anything with them and it was over so quickly. It's really sad because people have been waiting for a very long time for N'zoth especially & they totally dropped the ball with him. A lot of people hated the shadowlands expansion and it's been called the absolute worst expansion in World of Warcraft history.
Deathwing was not enslaving the Dracthyr. He is their father, he created them. The titan gauntlet he was using essentially allowed him to "Control" them during battle but it wasn't to take their free will it was to have perfect synergy during battle. The Dracthyr willingly served Neltharion because he was their father not because he forced them too. The reason he imprisoned them is because he was locking them away before he could go even further insane and end up ACTUALLY enslaving them and using them to help him destroy Azeroth. He was saving them. The Primalists rebel against the Dragons because they believe that Dragons were meant to rule Azeroth and that the Dragon Aspects "forced" the Titans magic upon them and that it was unnatural and an abomination. They might have had a point if they didn't then go on to commit horrific atrocities in the name of their rebellion against the Dragon Aspects.
honestly love that this expansion has more of a exploration and adventure feel to it rather then always being about war and the end of the world even tho it still has that as the main plot feels a lot less immediate and more about exploring the new dragon isles.
They needed to mix things up a bit. Glad to hear the gameplay is feeling fun so far 😀
@@tenou213 that too
If you remember N'zoth from the Warbringers Azshara trailer/ cinematic & The Battle for Azeroth expansion, He was an Old God and the one that corrupted Deathwing.
One of. Or they retconned it without me realising it. There was three old gods whispering to him iirc;
Ah nice. Thanks for letting us know 😀
Nozdormu has the coolest story out of all aspect leaders in my opinion
People talk about Neltharion's end, Malygos' End and Ysera's End, but poor Nozdormu knowing his fate and waiting for it to happen.. what a terrible curse.
Kalecgos reuniting his flight has been more rewarding so far, can't wait for more on the Bronze
Ironicly this limitations, actually gives a sens of depth and "freedom", since you are actively flying your Mount by going up and down and taking speed boosts etc, while the Old flying mounts was just "Engage auto-run and go make a coffee or take a leak and come back 3 min later"
people absolutly love it, and they are asking Blizz if they can implement this systeme of flying for either ALL flying mounts through out the previous extensions zones, or making your dragonmount be useable in the rest of the game (for now the dragonriding can be used ONLY in the Dragon isles), Blizz responds for now as been "huh...maybe we don't know we need to wait and see for now"
The Exploration of the isles is actually fun and engaging, since there is many things and places to discover and there's also races tracks where you can try and beat the timer or even race agianst other players for rewards.
Long story short, as they say..:
So the Titans are planet-sized beings.

See the two Pre-Expansion Patch - Raszageth the Stormeater videos for what the Primalists are and what they want. :)
What we know so far.
Nice playlist
Thanks for putting that playlist together and sharing it with us! Very helpful 😊 and appreciate the quick info on Primalists so far and giving us some more details 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Your welcome!!
And thanks you for the amazing videos. Just find your channel a few weeks ago. Looking forward to future videos! :)
Working my thought the backlog. Finish the Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo lists.
The Primalists are new to Dragonflight expansion. Not much is known of them and what is known comes from the new cinematics released today.
I like the point of view of the storm eater, like they were somehow erased from the glorious history of the aspect for rejecting the benediction of the titans... It's an interesting way to "retcon" the lore of the battle of Galakrond, and add 4 more proto-dragons who fought him.
😎👍😀
I wonder if it is the fate of all original dragon aspects to get corrupted.
Neltharion - The aspect of Earth
Became corrupted due to constant influence of an old god who was imprisoned in his domain. Became Deathwing
Malygos - The aspect of Magic
Became mad when he realized how magic was used, chose to limit the usage of magic and control it by himself. Instead of following his duty of teaching and protecting magic, he chose to claim it.
Ysera - The aspect of Dreams
Became corrupted by a nightmare due to a direct influence of a nightmare seed planted into her heart.
Nozdormu - The aspect of Time
He is not corrupted yet, but as the aspect of time, his future is known, he will eventually turn into Murozond, the corrupt aspect of infinity, who lives outside of time.
Alextraza - The aspect of Life
She is the only one who is not believed to be corrupt in any way, in the cinematic she was called the heart and the conscience of the dragons. The worst that has happened to her, was that she was enslaved by Orcs, and forced to breed them an army of red dragons.
Also, I do not believe Neltharion was evil before his corruption. Personaly, I think he imprisoned Dracthyr because he knew that was the only way to protect them, from himself.
So glad you’re continuing with WoW reactions! I always love your insight on those cinematics^^
We are happy a new expansion is starting. We were missing it 🙂🤗😀
The Legacies series dive heavily into the narrative of the upcoming expansion, and its backstory.
Powerful artifact. Glad it served more of a purpose than just enslavement as well 🤗
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames As always, Titan artifacts are a double-edged sword.
The art team's back must hurt as hell after carrying the whole company again.
😂
Cool. Glad to hear will have more cinematics coming out later this month and a couple that already came out that we haven’t touched on yet 😊
Its because she wants to restore things back to where Prot drakes were top of the foid chain, devouring civilizations.
Raszageth is a pretty well done first raid tier villain. Clear motivations, doesn't look like a cartoon villain. Doesn't beat Denathrius tho.
Thanks for giving us some more info on Raszageth and the theory about it being an attack on the artifact seems sound at first glance 🙂
Funfact About Galakrond
you could consider him the first necromancer on Azeroth.
considering his hunger was so massive, he massively mutated with vast amount small limbs here n there, and those he didn't finish eating, eventually raised up as undead dragons, protecting it's devouring master.
Oh damn 😯
Dragonflight is a very hopeful expansion. We just gotta see if blizz can follow through
Crossing fingers 😇
Looks great! Love the dragon general character and I can never get enough Alexstrasza!
FYI, Alexstrasza, as you guessed is the ginormous red dragon at the end, she is the queen or the red flight and the embodiment of life, that is why, when you see her breathing fire, verdant life immediately starts sprouting.
Got to admit, going into the dragon lore in WoW felt kinda strange after D&D, considering that red dragons in D&D proudly declare themselves to be the most evil creatures in existence.
Alexstraza is the Aspect or leader of the red dragons, and Queen of all dragons
Probably because it wasn't even a story cinematic.
If you want WoW lore with comedy you should react to Platinum WoW hes sooo interesting and underrated
Oh how i wish blizzard makes an animation movie. It would be insane.
Once that Microsoft sale goes through feels like a series will happen 🙂
omg yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay a wow video 💜
Ouch. That boss is a dick. Why does he gotta bring up the daddy issues? 😒
Been hoping for this video, awesome
When the Titans gave the dragons power the Primalist looked at it as the Titans were corrupting them and this started a war between them.
(The Proto-Dragons got lil dinosaur arms) - (side note: they also venerate Galakrond, the big ass cannibal dragon in the first Legacies' episode!)
We don't know much about the Primalists, but Razsageth is one of the four Primal Incarnates that fought against Titan-aligned dragons a long time ago. The Primalists are Dragon-Supremacists, so they believe that dragonkind should dominate all other species. They were defeated and imprisoned 20,000 years ago (in game)
I recommend watching Razsageth's Escape and Tempest Unleashed cinematics - it adds some context to what's going on.
The Primalists aren't the good guys; they're still highly dragon-supremacist and racist, but they have some very solid reasons to dislike the Titans/Titan Keepers! :)
I hope this lore helps you understand Dragonflight & its story.
All twisted metal black endings tomorrow?
This was amazing
Wow Deathwing was super handsome. What a badboy! xD
there are a lot of new senimatics out, you will like it!
Great commentary as usual :)
Thanks for letting us know about the four videos. We heard more is coming later this month too 😀
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames Hey, yeah. Dragonflight launches in less than two weeks so we can expect to get from 3 to 6 [Imo] new cutscenes as per usuall when it comes to the new expansion. It should be a little more cheery compared to loom and gloom from previous ones but we'll see! :D Take care guys.
If you guys want to continue your journey back to Arthas like you guys mentioned multiple times, below is a complete Warcraft 3 story video about him that I found:
Story of Lich King Arthas (2020)All Cinematics - Part 1 [Warcraft 3 Lore] th-cam.com/video/NtRMkhfs-z8/w-d-xo.html
It's basically all in-game cinematics in Warcraft 3 regarding Arthas alone.
Hell yeah some World of Warcraft reaction ! 🤩💜
There were more Flights then just 5. The difference is just: 5 took the grace of the Titans and the others thought themselves already as they should be and saw those "titan graced" Aspects as abominations. Titanic Power vs "natural" Power is the war between the Aspects and the Primalists.
I wish world of warcraft was on playstation and xbox
I love your channel! I found it a couple of weeks ago and honestly I fell in love, just a question, are you guys gonna react to any kind of stuff related to honkai impact 3rd? I would love to see a reaction video of it:)
The Primalists basically rebeled against the dragonflights that accepted the titans gift
Warcarft awesome
Theres still 2 cinematics you havent seen yet, they're the prepatch cinematics for dragonflight
@@suntiger745 That's a good point, just makes me think there is more hidden lore that will be revealed around the dragon flight and the titans in this expansion.
primalists despise the titans, therefore, the aspects. they are the goliaths of primal unchained power, mastering the elements
Could you guys check out the Warhammer 40k Darktide class spotlight trailers? They are some of the best!
Would love to see you two react to the class trailers for Darktide
Will add it to our 40k list 😊
Also, Emberthal is a lady dracthyr, i noticed you kept calling her "he" lol
the big red dragon near the end with the jewelry was Alexstrahza, The Life Binder. and yea, she can use her fire to heal, as well as hurt lol
It makes sense that the primalists oppose the titans. The primalists seem tied to the elemental lords, and the elemental lords fought the titans too.
Let’s soar! 🐉 💨
Look at Nobbel87's lore videos, they are pure joy!
I'm very excited for Dragonflight. Shadowlands kinda bombed as you can tell from the cinematics, but I have strong expectations for DF
World of Warcraft is a good game to play.
18:36 it's not a friend it's alextrasza queen of the dragons :)
the pre-patch is lil boring(plate transmog set is the only thing I was hyped about my paladin needs a new look) .. 12 days till the fun restarts
Guys great reaction, you should guys react to new re4 trailer like the gameplay and the story trailer
The Primalists think that the dragons where corrupted by the Titans, and that they should have lived a more primitive and savage life like they did when they where proto-dragons.
About the different kind of dragons, who are called flights, you have five of them sorted by color
The red flight is the protector of life. It's leader is Alexstraza the Lifebinder (the Big dragon at the end)
The blue flight is the gardian of magic.
You should react to slimecicles “developing anger issues in doom eternal”
Hopefully this expansion will be better then shadowlands
You should react to the New Hearthstone trailer called March of the Lich King
Still kinda miss Martin Sheen as Nozdormu.
Primalists believe the Titans corrupted their brethren. That the true path of dragons is to be one with the elements and the world as it was.
😍😍💗
I'm from Brazil and seriously! i love this channel. There will be an end of chapter event in Fortnite again on December 3rd :) Could he react?
Hey guys please watch some old gods lore videos
I read that nozdormu is referring to yogg-saron returning... Madness of deathwing was actually an easier fight than the boss fight before it spine of deathwing especially in raid finder because it required a lot coordination between all 25 players.
There are actually 2 more cinematics that recently just came out, with one of them giving you some idea about why the Primalists are...them i guess lol.
i stopped playing halfway through battle for azeroth, and i did not play through Shadowlands, i will fully admit that i am so very..very VERY tempted to go back for dragonflight because...dragons. and the Aspects have always been some of my favorite characters outside of Arthas
the primal dragons believe that titans corrupted feral dragons with power of order (which is kinda technically true)
so primal dragons united with the very powers of azeroth herself - the elements - to fight this corruption
there're so many forces in warcraft's universe which makes it so interesting, every great power wants to get ahead of the others
we have titans and their order (arcane magic), old gods with the void, burning legion with the fel, the naaru with the light and so on
if you want to check out the lore in entertaining format - you should give a go to platinum wow's videos
but maybe his videos are abit too goofy for you - you could check new video series from Bellular about dragonflight leaders:
th-cam.com/video/bvApPfVyFJM/w-d-xo.html
Can u guys react to Warzone 2.0 launch trailer.. thanks
I just can't get excited about anything Warcraft, anymore. I just enjoy dungeons in FF14 a lot more. This whole bit of lore seems like a massive asspull to extend the franchise.
i dont plan to play dragonflight since launch, i will wait for patch or two to consider it... simply whole lore premise just doesnt resonate with me
will wait for when whole expansion tone changes, and that will come with patches and will wait till lore shape it self better (right now its preety much empty, because they try to establish new beginning)
i dont like new race 'drakthyr' and how things look now, but i am interested in new approach to game systems, new philosophy of content creation and that they finally stop doing 'treadmill mechanics' that simply killed this game (in gameplay mechanics terms)
also they will finally stop treating expansions as opened and closed things... they really damaged lore of warcraft and pacing of story by that
well, i am not exited for this expansion, but still interested
imho dragonflight promotion materials are the worst of all up to this date... earlier harbingers, warbringers, cinematics are much better than dragonflight
And another furry race. WoW is now a official furry mmo game lol
this was so undwerwhelming, i didnt liked it, worst of them all
Deathwing was not enslaving the Dracthyr.
Could u react to "how countries fight theirs wars 1 y 2" they're 2 animated videos of 2 minutos each one
