Those ditches were layered in thick oil last summer, I photographed it and reported it but nothing was done, breaks my heart to think the local wildlife would drink from there when everywhere else is dry..

Hi DJ. This pollution is typical of ditches adjacent to industrial estates. How can insects, fish and birds live in that? We are supposed to be animal/wildlife lovers - if we don't have a clean environment, quality of life is lost. I've made comments before about your drone footage capturing industry pollution especially to water courses and I have forwarded my concerns to the Environment Agency. They have said on several occasions they will not act on YT postings, reports have to come from personal observations, what nonsense, they are unfit for purpose. The EA are a government organisation, it appears successive governments see environment protection as something that stifles economic progress. It's outrageous. Never mind the BBC filming eagles in the Cairngorms (maybe David Attenborough could visit that site to see what lives there?), you are highlighting what our wildlife has to endure - proper journalism. Thank you and please keep going with this theme, it's so important.

Companies and their bosses are only animal lovers when it makes good public relations. They don't give a stuff about wildlife otherwise.
I mean it isn't like any of them have voluntarily gone 'green' is it. Even those that have now haven't done it from the top, they've got the lower grade staff to come up with the ideas for £25 vouchers.

Wisbech was the town in which I was born and where I lived for the first seven years of my life. I will watch any videos you make in Wisbech with interest... especially as I have haven't been able to get back there for over thirty years...!!!
You're not missing much. Place is not the same as 30 years ago. Town centre is dying...probably due to massive retail park where the old stock car stadium was.

Incineration will always push out pollutants into the atmosphere, and a site that big will impact any local drainages with pollution washing off the site. As others have said, local wildlife will be impacted big time. The material combusting is littered with all types of plastics and petroleum derived waste.
The UK economy seems to always take precedence over anything else. Environmental concerns are nothing. The dumping of sewage being the most obvious example. Visit a beach? No way.
The fallout from the stack, regardless of how high it is, is an issue for all, not just those nearby. The toxins mix with water vapour and fall over a large area. There is no technology that can remove all of the gasses, particles and vapour emanating from the stack. The petroleum derived products will release a massive range of pollutants and add to the mix of carbon in the atmosphere. That atmosphere is for all of us, not just within 5 kilometres of Wisbech.
Killing people slowly by burning their generated waste.
Governments are sold these hairbrain ideas thinking they are "green" when they are nothing but uncontrolled polluting nightmares. Often companies are dependant on grants/subsidies from the Government and Councils to set up then run these operations. Often the owners are European companies selling ideas to Councillors thinking they are doing the best thing for their constituents. The "saving money", "reducing council tax" scam is used all over the UK and Europe. Plus we never really know if any type of kickback is part of the approval process.
As we have seen in the amount of foreign money given to politicians via campaign contributions, gifts, holidays and more, the influence can be bought to approve projects. And sometimes the influence bought is then used to railroad local communities and Councils.
Wisbech is just another incinerator blotting the landscape.
Far more could be achieved by funding research into recycling or breaking down these materials in a safe manner. The world is awash with plastic and it needs enormous research to get on top of its damaging effects. Unfortunately this site is just another example of short sighted Government looking for fast(even ineffective) results.
Politicians and Councillors wanting to shore up their positions. None of which indicates a commitment to long term, solutions.
Have you thought about visiting this one by any chance.....In December 2023, Universal Destinations and Experience confirmed plans for a UK theme park in Bedfordshire, having bought 480 acres of land in Stewartby. Since then, Universal has assured Bedford locals that if the plan to build a theme park is approved, it will collaborate closely with nearby communities. Over 20 years ago Denmark built waste incineration plants which not only produced energy but also ZERO emissions. They used a combination of high tech and organic systems. The cooling ponds included special reed beds that trapped toxins, dioxins and heavy metals. The reeds were then incinerated, this process resulted in zero harmful waste products.

It's like public photography, people don't like them (incinerators) despite not knowing anything about the science. People are killing people by burning fossil fuels yet object to better ways of operating.

@DJAUDITS No that's the Kao Park I believe your meaning but what I mean is something they're building off of Station Road/Harlow Road between Old Harlow & Sawbridgeworth it seem seems to be getting its own On/off slip road & causing loads traffic jams at all temporary traffic lights that way.
There's also an asphalt plant behind Harlow Mill station close by there too.
If I think of anything else I'll let you know..maybe the hospital hospital if that's ever built before I'm a pensioner 😅

They need to fix the drone laws. ONLY being allowed to fly the smallest drone that exists is absurd. The line of sight stuff is absurd too. The solution really is to just break the law. Illogical and unjust laws MUST be broken and flagrantly so until they're repealed.
That's a caravan and camping 🏕️ site at the back there DJ audits , I can't imagine that's going to be suitable for camping and caravaning after the incinerator site is up and running , no wonder locals are getting annoyed by the sites location.😮
So if the food sites are already polluting the river and it's causing a problem for the Environment, like local wildlife surely that needs addressing first , they shouldn't be polluting the waterways .

I would have come and met you if I had known you were in Wisbech, live just 4 miles away.
The locals object to anything modern. They've never done any research into these incinerators, never spoken to people who live in towns which have one of them, never *visited* a town with one. That would mean doing some research. Why would they do that when they can rely on someone else telling them how terrible they are, even if they get told lies.

they built a special type of incinerator in Middlesbrough to burn the rubbish and generate electricity. when it was finished it didn't work so it was scraped. it cost millions £££ all lost it was kept quiet.

You DONT have to go thru Wisbech DJ because if you turn left from the estate exit/entrance you actually head direct to the bypass rather than right into Wisbech town centre.
The bypass is literally a minute drive from the estate exit. This bypass gives access to both sides of Britain.

Please make sure of your facts before making false statements. Del Monte are not polluting the waterways, they have a very efficient waste water treatment system. The other point you failed to verify was the fact that there are at least 5 food factories close to the proposed incinerator site. The prevailing winds will blow fumes from the incinerator chimneys straight across a large school which is nearby, across the town & across prime agricultural land, not to mention the pollution caused by 300 lorries a day bringing in the rubbish.This proposal is just an other prime example of bribery & corruption by very corrupt government officials. I was engineering manager & site manager of two of the food facilities nearby & I can assure you that utmost care was taken to prevent any kind of pollution, which was also carefully monitored by Anglian Water.
