Just a heads up for us fishing peasants. Today I went to Bass Pro Shops and they now have a jerkbait called the XPS Staredown 100+1. They got a color called Exo Shad. Its Elegy bone and its a copy cat of the Megabass vision 110 jr. They also had the table rock version. I got the last exo in stock. It only cost me $8.99 compared to $20 or more for the Megabass version! I cant wait to give it a go!

I agree w/ the colors, because I have great success w/ a similarly colored chug bug. And another jerkbait that catches giants is the black & silver shadow rap 11.
I went out on a guided smallie trip to an inland lake in Northern Michigan about 8 years ago. Was a cold, rainy, early May day. We slayed them on the Elegy Bone jerkbait. This particular bait has a special place in my memories. And you're right. It's no longer a secret. Everyone is using it now and every brand carries them.
My favourite topic 🙌🙌🙌, Elegy Bone is right there in my top 3 megabass color , another color that work as good and maybe more for me in my river in Quebec is : HT Ito wakasagi ,( vision 110 +1) especially in clear water ( 8 feet ), thank you Matt
Thanks for walking through the various aspects of the color combination. Helps me understand why the Yo Zuri Sexy bone continues to be my confidence color!
I always called that like a 'ghost shad'. I have several H2o Express versions of that jerkbait that are so chewed up from all the fish I've caught with them. And you're absolutely right, spots really go after that color. That and chrome are my two best jerkbait colors.
Matt, that sure is an awesome color and I found that just a few years ago, works in a bunch of water clarities!!! Did you say the Stunna color is Shad Fillet???
If I could only choose one from MegaBass it would be Table Rock SP. ESPECIALLY on a silent lure when the water is cold! Number 2 is without question Modena Bone!!!! The entire orange bottom with the yellow top and sides with the clear section in the center is amazing!!! Any combination of gold and purple or gold and blue is extremely effective. Tight lines and Tang ya’ll!!!
This color is unbelievable, I used it for the first time, and it was unbelievable. I caught 3 Bass in the first three cast, and then I added 27 more in the next three hours.
Perfect timing, I am just starting to use the jerk baits, have been using the soft plastic jerk baits and wanted to try the hard baits. Congratulations on getting over the 35k number!
I do color some of my white baits blue and purple on the tops or back because of the bait fish. Ive noticed how they change colors as they mature and die off.
Another banger of a color that’s a “catch all” is Table Rock shad. Instead of a clear body it has a pearl chartreuse body and orange belly, purple back.
That’s the color that gave me confidence in jerkbaits. Caught 10 dinks in 12 casts and I was sold. Now I’ve got at least one jerkbait tied on year round.
Great video! My experience aligns exactly with the points you make. You talk about fish following the bait in to the boat. I get more follows on jerk baits than any other baits. What is your typical strategy to turn the follows into bites?
