It was awesome for Maika to win it this year after losing in the final last year. There seems to be big plans for Hanan, and not just the twin sisters, and it has been building for some time now. I was really thinking that Hina was gonna win, so that was a big surprise when she didn't. I wish Risa Sera would be in Stardom more often. Her entrance music is still my fave and I always love watching her matches. It's surprising that SLK still can't beat Kamitani. THAT is a feud that has been going on for years. At this point, it seems like Cosmic Angels is gonna get all the belts and inadvertently become the unit that everyone will feud against haha A bloodied Tam was a great victory image, making her look stronger after having to endure the punishment of H.A.T.E. and still come out victorious.
Very solid summary of the show and storylines! It looks like Hanan ushered a challenge to Natsupoi during her backstage promo. Risa Sera is always welcome! One of the most memorable experiences I've had meeting a wrestler so far! Good point about Tam, there is some pretty cool imagery of her from that title match circulating. Thank you very much as always!
@@String6Splash Now they all have a week off to lick their wounds and start anew and/or prolong some of the stories that have been developing. To me, it's always more interesting after a huge event than the build up before one.
@@String6Splash Oh and before I forget, how do you feel about Tam not winning a single match but winning The Red Belt? It might not sit well with some people, but possibly her popularity will just make everyone overlook this fact.
@@johnnygrind77 Tough to answer! It was hard for me to be invested in this storyline, and I was also pretty convinced that Tam would win this title match. One benefit is that anyone she faced in the GP can now challenge her, but I have to wonder: do we just forget about her vulnerable leg now? It's a Catch 22. Either they keep milking the wounded leg angle, or we have to pretend that Tam has a mutant healing factor
I watched the entirety of the tournament a little behind starting watching live with Day 2 and waiting for day 1 to be uploaded on Stardom World. After that I went in order. I never watched the entire tournament since I started watching Stardom in 2021 so I wanted to try it mostly being live. I liked the majority but 148/49 matches all in a row is way too much. As much as I like Tam, nothing of her booking made sense. Mayu, AZM and Natsupoi I think had fantastic outings outside of Maika obviously. Hanan I loved her arc too.
That is a lot of dedication! Do you think Tam should have had a great tournament run instead? Or would you still have her wash out of the tournament, and just experience a longer struggle afterwards? Or something else? Thanks
@String6Splash I just think they could've gave her at least an even record by still getting the knee destroyed or whatever, but win those last three matches by the skin of her teeth. Or AT LEAST draw with Momo seeing neither of them really had any shaping of the quarters. She went to complete rock bottom last year, losing the tag belts and then the IWGP shot before beating Giulia for her first Red Belt. Not to mention the failed shot when Syuri was champ before that. I just wish they were consistent with the storytelling and they weren't. Tam and Mayu fight for the top of my favorites in wrestling currently so it just sucks to not see both be booked like they should at the same time. I also didn't like how they booked her original Red Belt run either, more just with the Mina stuff.
1)Yeah Kamitani hasn't changed character wise much. She is still that sweet fragile crying girl with a soul on her sleeve. That probably means her original crying phoenix persona is her real personality. She tries to mask it as much as she can...it makes her more cute in my eyes more than anything else. I don't buying her as a heel from the beginning. It is like babyface Giulia in marigold. I instinctively know something isn't right. I thought after final Kamitani was halfway there from apologizing and begging for forgiveness. I still hope she is working from within. 2) I don't care about Natsuko looking stupid, because she needed Kamitani turning on Maika to get the title in a first place. She always was the weakest leader of all factions anyway. I don't know maybe re branding of OT was necessary because people were compering Natsuko to Kagetsu too often? 3) Agree, they booked themselves into a corner with both Tam and Maika winning. They have a championship match on 14th of september. The only way i see both of them not looking stupid is making this match no contest due to hat* interfering. Next they must agree to work together to destroy common enemy. If they wanted Tam vs Maika, Tam should have won 5 star and Maika not lost to Natsuko. Champion Tam vs evil Kamitani would have been amazing story too, and after Tam won i was counting on it. Tam Trained Saya as a dance instructor and a 2nd time to be a pro wrestler. Kamitani hadn't joined Tam in stars probably because of hubris. Can You imagine the amount of lore and emotions if we had this match? Even if evil Saya would have lost to Tam it wouldnt damage her character, and maybe a thoughts that evil thing doesn't suits her at all.
I like how closely you're looking at the possible and actual storylines here. I wonder if you think Stardom should revamp Natsuko is some way to make her more credible? And if so, how can they even do it? Something to ponder I suppose. Much appreciated!
@@String6Splash I think she will end up with a hat* like Kamitani with a burden of qq, or someone will kick her out. Right now only Thekla is charismatic and believable enough to be a leader of heel faction, but without idol killer mission, because that's a road to disaster. Natsuko must start from scratch, presumably as a tweener.
I think out of all that, Mayu vs Poi was my favorite match of the tournament and possibly in my top 5 or top 6 favorite 5 Star matches I've seen.
Nice! It sounds like many people agree with you about that match. Hope you enjoyed the stream!
