we have a lot of similar romantasy favorites. my top book was The Scattered Bones by Nicole Scarano. Her dead lovers body parts are scattered throughout the realm and she has to find each one in deadly places so a stranger can put him back together again. it's also under 300 pages and a standalone dark romantasy! I loved it and I'm shouting it everywhere I can.
I haven't made an official top 10 yet, but A Dowry of Blood will defintely be competing for the number 1 spot of favourite book of the year. I have a couple of your favourite books on my TBR and hearing you gush about them has made me extra excited to pick them up 😁 🚂

I did finally start House of Bane and Blood last night and honestly this is the most intriguing romantasy I've picked up! So I deeply appreciate all your shouting from the rooftops about it and convincing me to try it. 😂
I did a "catch up" year with popular fiction after finishing my English degree in literature. The Murderbot Diaries Series by Martha Wells ruled the beginning of my 2024. Then I read ACOTR and that took over my summer. This fall I was taken over by Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. I started my 2025 off with the audiobook of Phantasma, my lord I have a strong start to 2025. Starting Quicksilver tonight as my physical book.

So glad you loved The Cruel Prince trilogy. It’s so good! And I also loved House of Bane and Blood. One of my top books of 2024. I’m currently reading Glow of the Everflame and really enjoying it so far.
I need to check out sooo many of these faves!! Especially HoBaB and Kindred's Curse are high up on my priority list. And gosh, that ending of Oathsworn really leaves a mark, doesn't it? Hope you find many more new faves to obsess over in the new year 🥰
