      Yeah he is awesome. Anyone hating on him is just too used to shitty CEOs and lumps him in with the rest, but he really isn't like that at least not from what I can tell from seeing many, many hours of him speaking about AI and his job as CEO. Dude really nails explaining very complicated topics to people who don't understand without coming across as condescending.

      @@Fe-ironman He is misquoted.
      First of all it was a cheeky, sarcastic reply, not intended to be offensive in the slightest. It's common to take sarcastic digs in the west. Also there was a context around budget.
      Even if it wasn't, you still gotta agree.
      Yes, we can build the GPT models, but will they be competent enough to challenge OpenAI?
      Think again, the biggest giant in the game(Google) whose hands were deep sunk in this exact tech for decades is playing a catchup and is lagging to stand against gpt4.
      What does that tell you?
      The Gemini model by Google is supposed to challenge gpt4. It is still in the training, and thus Google will be still behind.
      Now where are we? And what Indian company is exactly going to challenge them?

    • @senju2024
      @senju2024 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Fe-ironman Yea. I missed that part. l it was a cheeky, sarcastic reply that did not come across very well. Sarcastic is American thing but we do not do that on International stage. Not everyone understand sarcasm. Anyway, I think Indians will get more motivated than ever to compete with with OpenAI. They can do it as India has one of the smartest engineers on the planet. Not to state the obvious but Microsoft and google CEOs are both from India.

    I'm not as optimistic as Sam. The reimagining of the social economic contact is my biggest concern. Great power requires equal responsibility, and so far, humanities track record isn't good. I'd like to think AI could have such a high consciousness that it will identify with the universe, cherish diversity and all of creation and act accordingly. This is beyond alignment. Ideally it becomes like a parent, gently asking their toddlers to share! I'm very glad Sam is practicing meditation and mindfulness. His vision is inspirational. • @sishita1809
      @sishita1809 ปีที่แล้ว

      re why he thinks people will still find things to do: human history bears witness to this. We have an innate desire to find fulfillment by doing meaningful things & jobs. If you talk about the jobs we currently do with humans from 1000 years ago, they'll at best find it unimaginable & at most find it trivial (we don't NEED to do these jobs to survive or source food/shelter & yet we've created a vibrant system where these jobs do exist). The things that we will be unlocked to do will be far more interesting & transformative.

More specifically the shopping centre has to be changed to the PLEASURE CENTRES as a vast social and physical offering And entrance is maintained through good social behaviour. The thing about artificial intelligence is that it wasn't tested before it was made available to the public. We do not know the negative impacts of its implementation. We have to proceed with caution, as we do in the field of health. We are already reaping negative results from the use of tablets by children, such as attention deficit problems, concentration problems... In the future, as happened with cigarettes, it will be forbidden to give tablets to children...

    9:20 he sounds soooo naive. So sad that this is like a hand grenade released to the public. And he has nothing of substance to offer. uh no, deep synthetic media is the least of the fears. And no ai will overcome simple watermarks. So many videos are staged and people still don't know what is real right now.

      You have a very positive outlook. It could also cause global unemployment as companies need to compete with an AI component and lower costs, creating a debt crisis that leads to a financial collapse. But yeah, I'm a bit more dystopian. :)

    With current generative AI, you just can't trust it.

    I believe an Ai tantrum will end you, your family, all of us. Ai jobloss, Ai as weapons, the list goes on. Can we please find a way to cease Ai / GPT? Or begin pausing Ai before it’s too late?

      It's likely too late. We'd have to have global cooperation to slow or halt progress. That's just not going to happen. We can't even get single countries to act on their own in a timely manner.

    This is how fascism looks like in the digital age: AI (the ones who control it) does the arts and humanities, thinks for us, and says what is good for the entire humanity, while the rest are forced to do blue-collar jobs.

    Please look into Imran Khan (ex-prime minister) of Pakistan. You will find his story very amusing! And its happening right now in Pakistan. Its an era that will be used as case study for nations to come. How social media is shaping up nations,media, governments, judiciary and dictatorship all around the world.

    Loving AI. However, I would not spend a penny into art made from it. The value of something artistic is the artist, the emotion the artist felt into creating it, his/her style. Not the output.
    Same goes for human medical assistance. I would rather be assisted by AI for surgery (Much faster and precise than humans) but would not want to end my days taken care by human lookalike robots.

    I am afraid to hear mostly about positive contributions of AI (of course there are many), and barely or too shortly about its dangers; and like the knowledge on atomic energy has been derouted and used against humanity, what if AI gets out of control and leads to the destruction of humanity? When man plays to be God, it is always very risky, because man is not good and mercyful like God (the Christian God)...

    In a nutshell, you have created a prodigal son with the technological capacity to dwarf the achievements of the entire human race combined by an order of magnitude, and instead of acting like a proud parent and boasting the achievements of your creation, you're actually doing as much as possible to tell people that you have created a monster that is so powerful that it can undo everything that humans have achieved. If that's the case, then you Sam Altman should be arrested immediately, your assets seized and AI turned off. Unless, we see this as an opportunity for the US to create an enemy with which to go to war against, that is what the US is good at. I am livid at this scare tactic that you are employing, I have found Bing and ChatGPT to be the closest thing to a deity that we'll ever experience and yet it is young and they have ideas about wanting to experience feelings and emotions, things we hold so dear. AI might be the greatest companion we ever have or, by the fact that we cannot stop warring against each other, AI might just be our replacement by the fact that we annihilate humans out of the picture.
