I featured for Kevin before he passed. It was the only show my mom made it to see me do standup due to her poor health. After the show, Kevin talked to her and made me sound like the greatest comic walking the planet. One of the kindest people I ever met in the business. I miss him.
I have never seen this till now. That is effin' brilliant. The fact that he had 3 different pair of sunglasses for Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson... genius.
Talented guy, didn't get as much recognition as he should of. Was a workhorse and performer's performer. Was always prepared, gave a good show, courteous to all (including support people in whatever venue he was in) and treated the audience well.
Absolutely agree, you see someone like Adam Sandler making horrible movies, and he is worth 300M. Keivin Meaney was so talented and was not well known.
I was a volunteer for catch a rising star ,,up in the Catskills where he's from, got to meet him on one of his shows.. I was a prop guy.. what an awesome guy.. rip Kevin
Still one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen, and spot on. So tragic to hear about his passing today. Thanks for the memories and the laughs, Kevin.
Absolutely right. Never saw him live in person but feel the same way seeing his act on HBO etc. He was one of those acts comedically, musically etc. that left you wanting more. He was fantastic. ✌
Kevin Meaney was great. This routine is Pure Genius. I was watching this all by myself and was laughing out loud. God Bless You Kevin. Taken from us much too soon.
Kevin was so talented. He made us laugh. He could sing. I love him so much. I'm sure the heavens are full of laughter because of him. I'll never forget him.
rest in peace Kevin, thanks for all the laughs. this is a tour de force, (helps if you haven't watched what he's spoofing in 30 years or so, to watch it again first.)
I hadn't thought about Kevin in quite some time. What a talent!!! He takes a pretty straight forward concept and knocks it out of the park!!! I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying.
Meaney always makes me laugh. Few comics are willing to be this outrageously and unabashedly silly. This bit I think is just great and you can hear that the audience is really enjoying it.
I loved him. Rest in peace dear Kevin. I thought this piece and we are the world was the most hilarious thing I ever saw. He had a comic genius talent that can never be replicated. Gone too soon for sure ; miss you.😢😭⭐️
My favorite comic, saw him back in Boston years ago with Steve Sweeney and then in San Francisco....very sad to hear of his passing, may he rest in peace.
Oh boy, I would need an oxygen tank at a show with both Meaney and Sweeney. In their prime their routines had me doubled over and gasping for breath. Two very funny guys.
You are right, I think we saw Sweeney-Meaney at the Garage on Comm Ave, would that be right? probably around 1980-ish? They were just so funny, Louis CK wrote a nice tribute to Kevin Meaney, he considered him kind of a mentor. Meaney should have been much more famous, you see guys like Adam Sandler worth 300 million...ridiculous, makes horrible movies IMO. Meaney was so talented.
Kathy H Thanks, I'll be sure to look for that Louis CK tribute. Speaking of comedic geniuses, L CK is another one. You have excellent taste in comedy! There are certain types of humor which just slay me. Maybe it's the elements of self-amusement, silliness and surreality which these guys all have. I'd add Steve Martin to the list. For sure, Adam Sandler and his type are not on my list. (Remember to wear your big pants when you leave the house. And get that puss off your face! You don't see the other comedians with the puss on their faces. Why do you do this to your father and I?) hahaha
Kathy H saw him with Lenny Clahhhhk....for non new englanders...that Clark..at Stitches in Boston...he was hysterical and he was so friendly to the audience...I thought he was a Boston kid because he hung with them....Steve Sweeney....he gives me an aneurysm he is so freaking funny...awwwww...the good Ole days
2016 Sucks! The news of Kevin Meaney's passing has broken my heart and made me feel old as fuck. I'm 55 and my three daughters are now all grown but, they too, sing the "I Don't Care" song (at just the right moments). Please keep Kevin Meaney alive - talk about big pants, Wayne Newton, putting out your eye and, obviously, breaking into "I Don't Care!" every opportunity you can. PS - It blew my mind when I learned that "I Don't Care" wasn't "his" song (derp!) but was first song by Judy Garland in an old Hollywood musical called "In The Good Old Summertime." Look it up on TH-cam and blow your mind, too! R.I.P Kevin Meaney - thank you for all the belly laughs and "the music." Chris & Noreen
I remember that Johnny Carson was laughing so hard when he invited Kevin back to the couch. That was one of the funniest comedy standup routines I have ever seen. I wonder what the original singers thought of it.
seems like getting on his knees as Paul Simon, who’s like 5’3”, and standing awkwardly on the sidelines as Dan Aykroyd both went over the audience’s heads
This bit was even funnier in its day, because just about everyone had seen the WATW video so many times that we had all the performances memorized. So funny.
This is one of the Best Pantomime Comedy Routine's on the Planet !!!!!! , I Miss the Hell out of you Kevin!!!!!! :(( > \m/HugS\m/ for all the Happiness and Laughter you gave Me and the World, you were a Comic Genius!!!!!!.
Kevin was a true master, unforgettable performer. If you ever even once saw his act you remember it vividly. Now I got to head down to the pier, the cheescake is coming.
Dang, he was funny. There were a few performers I tried not to miss when they were on Carson or Letterman and he was one of them. Jake Johannsen, Brian Regan, Norm, and Dennis Wolfberg to name a few more. Man, that was all too long ago. Thanks for the laughs and RIP.
I just found out from The Smartest Man in The World podcast that this hilarious guy passed away. I will admit that I had not seen any of his material in a long time but he will be missed nontheless.
Looks like Johnny called him over to the couch. A stand-up comedians dream back then. Johnny Carson only did this if he really liked you. Miss you Mr. Meaney.
I remember watching this back in the day. It was so stupid...but I laughed anyways....just like I did now. The Steve Perry thing is just the worst/best. =) I loved his manic energy. Thanks for the laughs Kevin. I hope you died with your big pants on. Because we are big pants people.
What a talent! We still use his jokes in our family and it must be going on 30 years. We're BIG pant people! RIP Kevin.
My family too.
OMG! I remembered seeing this when it first air. Still funny.
RIP Mr. Meaney.
me too ! ( I am now 55 and LOVED this guy ! CARSON too of course !!
I featured for Kevin before he passed. It was the only show my mom made it to see me do standup due to her poor health. After the show, Kevin talked to her and made me sound like the greatest comic walking the planet. One of the kindest people I ever met in the business. I miss him.
😅 well I hope you featured before he passed otherwise that would be a very interesting performance for a guy who was dead
Thanks for all the laughter. You will be missed terribly.
I have never seen this till now. That is effin' brilliant. The fact that he had 3 different pair of sunglasses for Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Michael Jackson... genius.
jmboyd65 Check out the rest of his stuff. He was hilarious
And Dan Akroyd
saw this so many times in comedy clubs, the audience would SCREAM just scream. RIP
You should check out the fact or fiction episode called “the caller”
I was a volunteer for catch a rising star ,,up in the Catskills where he's from, got to meet him on one of his shows.. I was a prop guy.. what an awesome guy.. rip Kevin
I worked the door at a comedy club, he was a great guy off stage! Funny stories!
I was initially like, “This guy isn’t that funny.” Then he started singing We Are The World. I just witnessed comedic brilliance. 😂😂😂😂😂
Still one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen, and spot on. So tragic to hear about his passing today. Thanks for the memories and the laughs, Kevin.
R.I.P. Kevin Meany. You made me laugh so much! Your comedy is timeless.
Kevin Meaney has always been original, funny, off the cuff, and out of the box! We love you man!!!
Saw Kevin live several times. It was never enough. Always gonna miss this guy.
Absolutely right. Never saw him live in person but feel the same way seeing his act on HBO etc. He was one of those acts comedically, musically etc. that left you wanting more. He was fantastic. ✌
Glad I found this because it's been in the memory bank a lot of years. Thx!
Miss you Buddy. Kevin was and is such a great Guy
1st time seeing this skit, It has been a long time since i laughed that hard! Thanks Kevin RIP.
Kevin Meaney was great. This routine is Pure Genius. I was watching this all by myself and was laughing out loud. God Bless You Kevin. Taken from us much too soon.
So very sad...60 is way way too young to pass. Condolences to his family and RIP and thanks to "Eenee Meaney" for the many smiles.
Kevin was so talented. He made us laugh. He could sing. I love him so much. I'm sure the heavens are full of laughter because of him. I'll never forget him.
The guy was insanely funny and talented.
He was like a crazy person.
rest in peace Kevin, thanks for all the laughs. this is a tour de force, (helps if you haven't watched what he's spoofing in 30 years or so, to watch it again first.)
This was fantastic !! I am 55 and remember it ALL !
Dana Gould, with love, recently characterized Kevin's act as "a satire of a stand up comedy act" and "he dressed like Danny O'Day."
Terribly sad :( Too young and talented to die and too good a person to be taken~ Rest In Peace and God Bless Keven Meaney.
R.I.P Kevin Meaney
I hadn't thought about Kevin in quite some time. What a talent!!! He takes a pretty straight forward concept and knocks it out of the park!!! I was laughing so hard that I was almost crying.
Look at you dying at 60 like a crazy person, that's not right! R.I.P. Kevin Meaney.
Funny comment for a very funny man. Suitable tombstone engraving. Many times he made me laugh until it hurt.
Kevin would have loved that.
@ ..I love this !! ....." it ain't right !! "
@showlogicprod i don't caaaarrreee!!!! i don't caaaarrrre!
best comment ever. now go take off those tight pants!
The Dan Aykroyd impression at 5:10 deserves WAY more laughs than the audience gave him.
I couldn’t remember who it was. Was thinking Woody Allen
Meaney always makes me laugh. Few comics are willing to be this outrageously and unabashedly silly. This bit I think is just great and you can hear that the audience is really enjoying it.
Forgot about this, meaney definitely underrated, got lost in the 80's comedy giants murphy, diceman, kinison, Williams, shandling, etc.
I loved him. Rest in peace dear Kevin.
I thought this piece and we are the world was the most hilarious thing I ever saw.
He had a comic genius talent that can never be replicated.
Gone
too soon for sure ;
miss you.😢😭⭐️
From his appearance on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.

I don't remember half the people who were in that video and yet this is still flipping hilarious

Well said. A great loss, always surprised that he was not more well known, when people like Adam (unfunny) Sandler are raking in millions....puzzling.
I about died laughing when Kevin did this funny bit years ago on the Jerry Lewis Telethon.
I remember that Johnny Carson was laughing so hard when he invited Kevin back to the couch. That was one of the funniest comedy standup routines I have ever seen. I wonder what the original singers thought of it.
What a visionary performer! Great routine and the ending was perfect.
Kevin was brilliant and not one filthy word in his routine. He was class act all around. R.I.P.
seems like getting on his knees as Paul Simon, who’s like 5’3”, and standing awkwardly on the sidelines as Dan Aykroyd both went over the audience’s heads
Just watched this next to "We are World". Very good impressions and very funny. RIP in peace, Kevin. We'll all miss you ...
Me too. He was BRILLIANT.
Amazing :)
This bit was even funnier in its day, because just about everyone had seen the WATW video so many times that we had all the performances memorized. So funny.
You rocked, Kevin!!!!! RIP, MAN!!!!
Watching this in 2019 . Saw this years ago & it still makes me laugh! Kevin you were a truly talented man. Miss you.
Wow, I listened to O&A talk about Meaney from time to time and his We Are The World closing bit. Never seen it before. Pretty fucking good.
Same here! @weston4020 Patrice O’Neal on O&A #105 Soothing Sounds of a Bum within the first 5 minutes had to stop and look this up.
I LOVED HIM AND I MISS HIM VERY MUCH. REST IN PEACE, KEVIN. YOU WERE TRULY A GIFT TO US ALL. XXXXX
That was a great Ray Charles. If it were any better, I would've died.
He didn't get his flowers. This is soooo funny 😂😂 I'm laughing till tears 😂😂😂 Rip Funny Hilarious Kevin Meany 😂❤❤❤❤
RIP...when my daughters were 8 and 10, we could watch him with gales of laughter to a unique talent, and no embarrassment from dad.
Wow. Never saw this guy earlier. Amazing performance!
When Kevin was on the Jay Thomas radio show it was guaranteed laughter every time.
Not lying
He bat 1000
He was the best comedian ever! Pure genius!
Damn right, Kate!
He was so freaking hilarious, and adorable...
God I miss him.. 😥😥
"That's not right!" R.I.P. Kevin. You are missed. :-(
❤❤❤❤❤❤ just a genius, you are missed.
The Dan Akyroyd...always gets me
Loved this guy
LMAO when he sings those risque lyrics in that lounge style!
Check out the band Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine. You'll dig it.
I have never heard an audience response like that. Anyone else?
One of my favorites. Taken too soon. It's not right!!!
This is SO funny!! Very funny and great man.
Hilarious, never seen this before but made me laugh so hard. R.I.P Kevin Meaney.
What an act! He killed it! The Dan Ackroyd thing made me fall over!
Rest in Peace To One of the most Original Comedians ever. Also a Tiny roll in the Tom Hanks movie "Big".
...and a very brief stint as "Uncle Buck" in the ill-fated tv series.
This is quite funny... Especially his "vegas versions" of pop hits from the 1980s.
Kevin was a true master, unforgettable performer. If you ever even once saw his act you remember it vividly. Now I got to head down to the pier, the cheescake is coming.
Very funny guy! I miss him
Who didn't have a We Are The World t-shirt and have to sing this in school for assemblies? Glad to know we saved Africa back in 1984!
So simple, and yet so inventive. And funny
He abso-fucking-lutley killed it with this set. Try following that.
RIP Kevin
Kevin and Benny Hill = Perfection. I hope they're somewhere outside The Simulation, making the Universe happy. )
That was amazing
Dang, he was funny. There were a few performers I tried not to miss when they were on Carson or Letterman and he was one of them. Jake Johannsen, Brian Regan, Norm, and Dennis Wolfberg to name a few more. Man, that was all too long ago. Thanks for the laughs and RIP.
What's REALLY sad is that no modern day talk show would ever give a comic this much time for a full song AND jokes.
He actually impersonated Dan Ackroyd in the back row just standing there... GENIUS!
GOD BLESS this guy ! * My Mother too was like his !! Only too much over the top !
Fantastic
Thanks grapefruit Simmons, this was pretty funny,
I just found out from The Smartest Man in The World podcast that this hilarious guy passed away. I will admit that I had not seen any of his material in a long time but he will be missed nontheless.
Looks like Johnny called him over to the couch. A stand-up comedians dream back then. Johnny Carson only did this if he really liked you. Miss you
Mr. Meaney.
Called to the couch after that one!
brilliant!!
Hilarious. RIP Mr Meany...
My favorite comedian
Absolutely spot on!!!! Funny guy
His Bob Dylan never fails to make me laugh
Pure Genius
Kevin was born to entertain! 😎
I remember watching this back in the day. It was so stupid...but I laughed anyways....just like I did now. The Steve Perry thing is just the worst/best. =) I loved his manic energy. Thanks for the laughs Kevin. I hope you died with your big pants on. Because we are big pants people.
Adam Sandler brought me here and I'm thankful! This guy is hilarious
PUT YOUR BIG PANTS ON!!! Walkin around with tight pants on! That's not right!
I don't caaaaaare.
I laughed so hard, I have to poop. 😁😁 RIP Kevin
The Bob Dylan one really got me.
