I just purchased this bike as a used model and am very impressed with it. Thanks for explaining everything as each time I ride I learn about something new. Now I need to get a bike rack. Great video!
Great review! I bought a Soltera 7 last Memorial Day, and have been using it as my commuting vehicle all summer. After 2200 miles I have to say you've pretty much nailed the bike (especially the sneaky joy of that bell!). It is fabulous if you want electricity to amplify your biking, but if you want more of a passive riding experience (which I don't) I would think it is under-powered and low on range. My observation of PAS levels is more like 8 mph, 11, 14, 17, and 20. My real world range is around 50 miles/charge (rides in on PAS 5, rides home on PAS 3); it isn't that Aventon's or your data are wrong, but the power added through peddling makes a real difference, and why this bike really shines for those who like to bike rather than ride.
Hello great review, really comprehensive however I'm having issues installing the fenders on the Soltera. Can't find any videos on youtube that shows the same fender installation.
I’m considering this or the Soltera 2 as a commuter bike, 7-8 miles steady downhill one way, which means (of course) uphill on the return. It appears I’m a guy about your size (5-10, athletic 210). The commute is on city streets. Thoughts on the pros and cons of the 2 vs the 7 for this purpose? Also, which size are you testing here, and I’d you feel it’s the right size for you? Also, Aventon’s site says this bike has a suspension fire, but yours sure looks like it has a rigid fork. Is it perhaps yours and the version on Aventon’s site are different? Thanks so much for creating and sharing this great video! Oh, a small video edit; at the beginning of the video you note the 700c tires are equivalent to 27.5” tires. 700c tires are not 27.5”; 650b -> 27.5”, 700c -> 29”.
I have reviewed the Soltera.2 as well. I really liked the step thru version. Personally, I would choose the Soltera 2 over the 7 specifically for the torque sensor, the upgraded tail lights/turn signals and better updated display. Maybe this video will help you decide. th-cam.com/video/E3EfwdPyCEw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DLZENURg0eLdY7qP
I visited your beautiful city last October to attend a convention at the Hilton. I rented an assist ebike one day and rode up Lakeshore and through some city neighborhoods (because of detouring to visit the Chicago Fly Shop) and had a great time. My girlfriend is first Gen Ukrainian, as we did a quick visit to the Ukrainian neighborhood. We definitely want to return to explore Chicago a wee bit more.
Scott what does the battery weigh? I've thought about buying this bike as a spare? I like the weight of the whole bike. The Level 2 is 8.4 in the battery bag. Ride On!
Great bike for the price - however I’m 6’0 and the cock pit is very tight. Need to buy 500.3 and spend $800 more = $2000. Too expensive for casual riding. Hey Aventon, build a bigger entry level bike !

Happy to help! Thanks for watching!

I appreciate the input! Glad you are loving your Soltera 7!
Absolutely oustanding review. This is exactly the video I was looking for as a new owner of this bike.
Glad it was helpful!
The Best Bike Reviewer. Comprehensive coverage.
Wow, thanks!

Hey scott, would you say this bike is comfortable riding with no battery help at all
@@siegfried0752 I would say yes.
Have you heard of Electric Bike Report?
@@antonioiniguez1615 I'm just one guy. They have an entire team and have been doing it for years. So I will take the compliment.

Have you heard anything about the Soltera 2.5. I’m beginning to think this might be really interesting.
I am in the process of reviewing it RIGHT NOW. Review should be up NLT Monday.

Very cool. E-bikes are the best way to explore this city!
Great review! Thanks for all the great info. Ps...Your seat is way too low... getting it adjusted correctly will help you pedal a lot!
Thanks for watching. The seat position I had was comfortable for me.
How does this bike compare to OKAI EB40?
I do not know, I have not reviewed the OKAI EB40.
What state is this ?
Chicago, IL
What fenders did you use?
Aventon sells these fenders for the Soltera.

I think it's only 5lbs. It's not heavy at all. Plus its on sale!
I really enjoy your reviews!! Very much looking into investing into the pace 500.3 🤔.
The Pace 500.3 is a great bike! Thanks for watching!
That’s the way to go
I've tested other Aventon models and they were very zippy. I mistook the 350 for the 500!!!! Good review and nice bike!!!👍👍
Thanks for sharing!
Torque sensor?
No. I state it has a cadence sensor in the beginning. Looks like I forgot to put the indicator to it in this video. Thanks for watching!
How tall are you and what is your weight?
5'9", 225lbs 32" inseam.
Great. It sounds like you’re gonna be the first. I’ve been trying to find anything out there other than what the manufacturer sense.
I am putting out a YT short showing the difference between the two today.
What a great trail.
Chicago is a great city for bikers.
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it!
700c is the same as 29nr not 27.5
It's what they had as the specs. Thanks for the info!
the tires are fragile over on the rear. other than that fantastic bike
Never noticed so thanks for the input!
6:37 use that throttle to catch up to her.
hahahaha. Nobody wants a creepy old man strapped down with cameras to catch up to them.

Sorry that one doesn’t work for you.
Website says it weighs 42 pounds
Looks like I got that part wrong. Thanks for the heads up.
Dosent look too smoky there
I filmed this before the smoke came in. It was bad, I stopped doing reviews while we waited for the quality to get better.
Great review! I also have a review on my channel, I ride this bike everyday 👍
Right on!
