You place the food items (tomatoes, fish,.....fufu, rice, whatever you need to heat) in a separate bowl or plate and then you place it on that breakable. Then you cover it up and turn on the microwave.

We eat that tiny fish in Cameroon with fufu(our main fufu is made with corn flour) I can't remember how we call the fish though. It's so tasty when fried with tomatoes, onion, salt, maggi, and scotch bonnet pepper. 😋

When My parents were alive, my family used to meet in my gd-parents village, we used to bake the all cow and steamed fish from the river, saka-saka ( cassava leaves cook with palm oil,oignons, garlic and smoked fish), and others veggies, fruits, manioc, bananas, rice with veggies. Self-Service for all , we used to invite friends. We dink wine, ginger jus and stamba (palm drink) and pineapple drink. We used to enjoy this food for three days or a week for some families. But when the war destroyed our villages and killed our gd-parents and parents no more party for New Years 🥲 Today we spend that time in a foreign countries, so sad.🙏

Those are cocoyam leaves as we call them here in Cameroon. Cocoyam can be eaten boiled like yams or in different other ways.

I thank God I've already passed that stage you are in Trudy. I mean, learning to bond with your in laws.😁😁. Mine was more challenging coz my in laws only speak French and Lingala. So language barrier was crazy😂😂. We did two weddings, one in Nairobi Kenya and another in Kinshasa DRC. To cut the long story. I kept smiling until my jaw got numb,😁 especially when my mum in law was talking with me. Of course my husband was the translator. So you're better off Darling.😍
