I want to thank you for this video. It saved me a lot of time. My hood sensor was indicating open when the hood was secure. With you excellent video I was able to access the latch from the front rather than removing the whole bumper. Great video and thank you
I've got a 2010, and I'd love to update to the more recent honeycomb, but also looking at doing my own mesh grill. Do the 2007-2009 S80 grills direct fit into the 2009/2010? Those seem to be cheaper and I'd feel more comfortable buying one of those to cut up for a mesh grill.
Is the part number 30756998 in this video chrome or silver? When I ordered for my broken grill, the service brought the grill number 31323007, but the grill that came was shiny chrome, actually I needed silver. That's why I'm asking?
I sold my S80 grille to a guy with a V70. I know one has horizontal and the other vertical styling. Volvopartshop said they should fit and that's what I thought. It didn't and he'd to send it back to me. The bumpers appear identical, but must have different clips/holding mounts.

Thanks. It looks like the dealer fix is a whole new fan shroud with two fans and the relay as a unit. $$$. I am going to try a replacement relay from Ebay for $35. No code for the ECT sensor yet.
I have collision warning radar sensor in my 2008 xc70. Should i remove the bumper to install the updated grill that has the collision warning radar plate? Or is this something my dealership has to do?

Haha I think you should be able to get that fixed for free? The reason it falls off is because a subcontractor changed what type of glue they use for the blue parts without mentioning to Volvo and should be fixed.
Advice from a P3 ower. the S80 grille is different and this update grille will not fit unless the entire bumper is swapped from 2014 and newer S80 V70 or XC70.
good job....when i do get the newer bodystyle xc70..... if you do keep your parts that you take off or swap..... i will buy it as i dont like my logo to be too big or the tailgate alarm haha ... just a thought..... if you do sell em .... its all good ill just have to look for it :)

I am not 100% sure but the grill can be removed same way. It just covers the radar.

+Frantz Schwartz Mine is still good. But I dont drive it a lot. Even if it falls off you can replace it easily with another logo.
