Dominique, you have 8 tires, correct? That is quite normal I would say, as you have 6 wheels to build. Usually they always offer tires per 4 per set. I have the same going on my Italeri trucks, even if they are multi-axled. Good thing as I lost a tire recently so still had extras.
Dominique, from what I can tell, the trailer can be built without the side panels and would in theory allow a vehicle to be put on it. whether it is realistic or not is not relevant, although the trailer would need at least to be double-axled to handle the weight of a classic muscle car. The way you describe it, it would be a husk more, so that would look even more awesome and very recognisable. Go for it mate!

You have 3 different versions you can build on the manual but there was a custom set earlier to do your own stuff I saw on Scalemates.
