- Let's dive into 1994's Tandy Multimedia PC (MMPC Model 20)! Is it a Tandy computer? Is it an AST? What software came on it? I'll answer these questions and more in my typically-peculiar way. Then, I restore the system and do a deep-dive and demo of the MMPC software that came with it. Finally, I install Microsoft Encarta 95 and the Microsoft Wine Guide and explore those programs a bit.

Brings back lots of memories! Great video!
Thanks for watching! I’m glad you liked it. I worked on one of these when I was a teenager - it stuck in my mind as kind of an odd duck.
Oh hey a super beefy episode from TJBChris! I even enjoyed the color keyed segment 😆For a system of this level I'd probably put 95 OSR2 on it.
Thanks! Long term, I think this is going to be my new retro game night rig with a multi-boot situation: DOS, Win 95,OSR 2, and OS/2 (just because…).
@TJBChris I've been wanting to mess with OS/2 Warp too but I need to see if it can be installed without burning discs
@@PixelPipes There is a floppy disk version of Warp 3, but you’re gonna need almost 40 floppies.🤣. Ask me how I know…
Ha! I don't have time to finish the video right this second, but I find the "you debating you" segment to be quite entertaining.
Thanks very much! I had a blast shooting the debate segment. It also made lots of great bloopers.
@@TJBChris 38:57 Were you about to start singing the, "Fifty nifty United States from 13 original colonies," song? LOL
@@BollingHolt Fortunately I keep my on-camera singing to a minimum! But I thought about it for a split second.
@@TJBChris LOL!!!! I'm just impressed someone else knows that song. We sang it in our fifth grade play, 1991-92 school year. And I finally just NOW got to finish the video. Love that machine! I still want a Tandy 386 machine. Everyone just wants too much money for them right now while I have so much other stuff going on... so I suppose I'll keep waiting for the elusive "steal of a deal" ;)
Enjoyed the video!
** looks suspiciously at his whiskey **
Honestly tho, that was some good wordplay. Stephen Fry would approve.
Thanks! I definitely went for “over-the-top” with the wording for the sake of parody. I’m very happy with the result! The suspicious whiskey look was: “Hrm, wine and whiskey. Maybe this wasn’t my best idea. Well, I’m here now, so let’s see how it goes!”
Good stuff
Glad you liked it!
I recently restored a Model 10 (full video on my channel, if you're interested in watching it,) and I really enjoy the computer. It's my only 486. That bay on the front you show at 18:00 isn't actually for another floppy. It appears to be a spot for microphone and headphone jacks that they never used. If you pop off the cover on the front of the case you'll see the holes and little microphone icon, etc.
Ooo, good to know, thanks! The HDD is behind it, so I made the assumption. I’ll definitely check out your restoration video!
Great👍
Thanks!
Did I spot you in LGR’s video in the Texas VCF SW video? I was up at 3am last night watching with my friend insomnia, so I could have been hallucinating.
It sure was! That was me playing with the Network 3 exhibit as he was passing by.
@@TJBChris I’ll bet you had a great time there… so much Tandy/Radio Shack goodness. Also, thanks for your continuing content. I learn a lot… without having to put the work in. 😁
@@RetroGamingNookThank you for the compliment! It was a great time…hopefully more shows are in my future.
