I am proud of all the teachers who put so much energy in being the best they can be and I include myself in that. I am proud of my students, no exceptions. We meet each other where we are and go forward.
Hello physics teacher, I have discovered how to break the so-called laws of Thermodynamics. For instance if you heat up air each unit of energy tends to increase the temp in a linear fashion (mostly constant thermal capacity and ideal gas law) and also the pressure increases in a linear manner, however if you have the air behind a piston and raise the temp 100 Kelvin and you get a force of 5 PSI then let the Piston move it will move a given distance, and if you double the energy hence temp hence pressure you get twice the pressure but about twice the distance the piston needs to move to equalize energy, this is 4 times the mechanical energy out for double the energy in! You can verify, Hooke's law articles will explain that as the compression of a spring is doubled the energy if 4 times larger due to this same reason, the air is a spring that you compress by adding thermal energy. I have more but no one has been able to explain how I'm wrong and given the other parts to what I have found I don't think I am.
You notice that people are usually uncomfortable with telling their earning potentials as they reflect their worth in it, however, my man said it out straight cause they don't give 2 f about money. They know what their worth is.
One becomes a researcher when one is deeply interested and passionate about understanding something that nobody has ever tried so far. His answer was, go to school, do the paperwork, apply for it and life goes on.

These people are motivated by the knack of finding something new, decipher some unsolved theories. He values his freedom at work more than being in a hierarchical corporate set up.12 lakh per annum with other government perks is good enough to live in India. People like him could have done a MBA and earn anyday. But not everyone wants to do a run of the mill sales/finance job. Plus, research in theoretical physics is not backed by market or industry, hence no money. It is solely supported by government funds. That's why he says pure research in physics is like New Age religion.
I wish I had passion. I'm 100% off set to do a typical corporate job (commerce/CA - maybe a master's in economics after this? lol) this is purely backed by my will to earn good money and be financially independent. But i imagine having passion and studying/dedicating your life to do what you love more than anything in this world must feel so freeing. When I was a young kid i liked this poem "the Road not taken" so much i promised myself to have the most creative/fun job that could make a difference in the world and not get into a race.

@@abhishekrajan3240 Great advice by you to her, mate. However, why did you choose economics for a PhD ? Don't you know that economics is nothing like science ?
@Dipayan Pyne I do research on nexus of water-energy-livelihoods, revolves around broad domain of sustainability and development. Understanding economic behavior/choices of humans is an important aspect of my work. Economics and its tools help you simulate the real-world scenarios and allow you to understand economic decisions of people in a better way, which is crucial for policymaking. In short, this the reason why I chose applied Economics for my PhD. I still don't understand why are you comparing it with science.
