J’aimerais beaucoup obtenir La partition. Est-ce que quelqu’un aurait la gentillesse de me dire si elle est en vente sur Amazone par exemple ? Merci à l’avance. Jocelyne
I started out playing piano in music school when i was 8. Then switched to guitar when i was 11, en then to electric guitar when i was 12. Ive been playing for 26 years now. And all i want when i hear this is go back to when i was 8 years old and smack that jackass teaching me nonsense children songs while i was listening to blues and gospel at the time already. This show how important first impressions are when you start out as a youngster. And that counts for everything. Now im almost going 40, but before that i WILL be able to play this beatiful piece! Ill be damned if i don't. Thank you sir!
Late 2021? I’ve picked up a full sized 88 weighted keyboard with pedal so I can learn this. It’s been 10+ years since I’ve last played and I’m almost 38! I got the first 2 pages down already.
I'm a new student, in my late 60s, and learning by myself on a well-known online app. And yes, I know, not alot going for my piano career. I'm 3 months in, still trudging through the foundations which I know is part of paying my dues. Hearing pieces like this inspire me to continue, even though looking at these sheets rolling by might as well be ancient Phoenician. Since starting to learn I'm listening closer to music and hearing things that I didn't used to hear. More than ever I find music amazing and worth the effort. I'll never get to a piece like this, but somewhere between where I am now and this piece is where I'll level off, hopefully closer to this piece.
After 25 years of playing music by ear and by heart (and by writing down chord progressions) this has finally convinced me to learn how to read notes/sheet music. Amazing piece!
This sounds like any given day or night at any of the holiness churches I used to go to, except they played at full speed and had organ, drums, and out of this world vocal backups.
Good ears! This song borrows some of the same chord progressions used in Georgia, but the style goes even further back than that. Idk how much of a theory nerd you are so Ill stop here. Lol
Actually, Georgia is a Hoagy Carmichael song... Ray played it with some gospel touches. Anyway, this piece has the same chords as the first two bars of Georgia; after that, it's quite different.
I had been trying to figure out what this genre was called, and this was the first thing I heard when I searched gospel piano. This is so beautiful, and the feeling it gives me sits deep and comfortably in my heart. Thank you for this beautiful performance
This Piece was supplied in the Music software Jazz Pianist on PC. i have all the version New Orleans pianist ,Ragtime pianist etc. Great transcriptions.
Very well done. Thanks a lot. This was most educative. I know all the theory of it but how to put it in practice in an elegant way that is fluent and pleasant to the ear, is quite another matter.
Love the blues and would love to see more of these lessons and also some slow blues with left hand vamps along with right hand runs and licks etc…thanks so much 🎹Grant
Awesome! So beautiful to listen to. Someday I hope to be able to play it myself. Ray Charles is the greatest. He has many more piano pieces that are equally wonderful.
I don't play piano because out of all the instruments I've tried it makes the least sense to me but playing along with this video trying to copy you sometimes and improvise sometimes was really helpful. idk why but not thinking about it and just playing around with what I heard got me to find the key right away, stay in it and find chords. Thanks for this!
Stuning and gorgeous. I love blues piano. Such a treat to hear this played on a beautiful sounding instrument that has been tuned and voiced for blues. It is also magnificent hearing this played as a Dixieland Lament. Out of this world. You earned a new subscriber with this incredible piece of musicianship.
Not pretentious at all. What I'm hearing from what you wrote is that this song found a place especially deep inside of you. Once in the public domain music belongs to all of us, so that means all of us can own it. You're making it yours by learning it. I'm a beginner at piano and I envy you that you can even contemplate learning a song like this. Maybe someday for me.
Just AWESOME arrangements' Your music interpretation is right on' I'm a disabled Vietnam veteran, age 72 self taught and looking forward to learning from you, my piano friend'
Good morning! I am a lady who loves to sing. I find this song wonderful and I would like to sing about it by creating something ... I hope it is beautiful and unique. I signed up for his channel. 👏👏👏 Thanks for the beauty! Good job! 🙋🍀💞
This is a transcription of one of the midi performances from the original Jazz Pianist Software released by PG Music. I think the pianist/author was Miles Black. Thanks for sharing it.
Love this piece. With how many triplets this got it might as well have been 12/4 or 6/4 or 3/4 or whatever amount of quarter-notes you prefer in a measure as long as it's some 3 fold of them.
Buongiorno! Sono una signora che adora cantare. Trovo questo brano stupendo ed vorrei cantarci su creando qualcosa...spero di bello e unico.😊 Mi sono iscritta al suo canale. 👏👏👏 Grazie per la bellezza! Buon lavoro! 🙋🍀💞

Beautiful piece. Wish I could play it as well . ..( or at all ) I’ve been in blues bands all my life and I can’t play this type of beautiful thing. . . . . Sheesh!
I have written lyrics to go with this sublime piece, and would like to record it for my own satisfaction and enjoyment (I’m a retiree with Parkinson’s keeping himself amused). From whom do I/can I get permission? Martin
Hiroshi, I was so taken by the pathos and emotion in your track I wrote a song where the singer is lamenting the misfortunes of his life and asking the Lord “what’s going on”? It arose from me losing 7 friends to cancer in 10 weeks earlier this year. How can I get a raw copy to you? Martin
Hiroshi, this is a link to a raw recording I made by singing into my phone. drive.google.com/file/d/1wUZswDJcS_sOTTnhw97Tx_EP1fc6Biy7/view?usp=drivesdk
Amazing cover. So much soul to this arrangement. What music did you grow up loving? Which artists influenced you? I wonder how you'd plat Ice Cream Man by Thom Waits!
Frankly, this is one of the most beautiful blues songs I’ve ever heard, and this is coming from an aspiring blues musician. Thank you.

I grew up with this music on Sunday mornings.
This sounds like any given day or night at any of the holiness churches I used to go to, except they played at full speed and had organ, drums, and out of this world vocal backups.
Your arrangements are outstanding. I’m a piano teacher trying to teach jazz and blues. Your charts are excellent teaching methods. I congratulate you.
Awesome, thank you!
Sounds like a Gospel version of “Georgia On My Mind”
Yeah I was thinking "you can't beat God's giving". You should check it out if you keen

The title says that is in Gospel and i got confused with it.
This is a Ray song.

1:45 What Amazing Technique You Have !
this is tremendous! I would like to see more slow and soft blues like that... it's just amazing
Hard to beat a beautiful Lament played impeccably on a properly tuned and voiced piano.
The walk down at the end is like golden rays of a sun.
"Rays" hehe
Sounds like a crossover between Frank Sinatra's "That's Life" and Ray Charles' "Georgia On My Mind"

Like this is so beautiful when each melody hits i just feel a tear coming 🦋✨
Excellent mix de blues et de gospel !!
As pretentious as it may sound, his song has been written for me and I am really into it! I am actually learning to play it!

Beautiful Ray now that's gospel music.
Hearing the blues in Gospel music sound very good blues is part of Gospel Music.
African American combined gospel, blues, jazz and classical music now that's gospel music.
Ray played beautifully Slow Gospel music that's how to play African American Gospel Music.
Gospel blues, especially slow, is an invitation for the Holy Ghost to blow the blues away, and all that remains is His Presence.
J'aime beaucoup votre interprétation. Je viens de vous découvrir. J'adore!
This brought me to tears. Thank you. Amazing play and arrangement
Thank you too!
Sounds like what they play on Saturday Night Live at the end.
THIS IS AN AWESOME NUMBER TO LEARN....
