1940 Dodge VC1 Command Car First Drive

1940 Dodge VC1 Command Car first drive. 12/18/2024.
Probably been 60 years since this VC1 moved under its own power. New everything. Just need to fix the brakes again. They were fine, but sat a few months. Now pedal goes to the floor. Need to finish that, and the hood and fenders, then will be ready for registration!

!5 or 20 years ago I had the chance to work on one of these. The owner had installed a flat head ford v8 and a 700r4 automatic overdrive transmission. He told me of the story of him driving from the mid west to California and then to Florida where the starter broke off. (The reason I was repairing it). A very unique Army truck, as I think they were only made for a couple of years.
