- RTP presenters Sílvia Alberto and Filomena Cautela are among 4 co-hosts of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Our Bernardo ( / b_tavares_p ) spoke with them at the Semi-Final Allocation Draw in Lisbon on January 29, 2018.

Filomena (Mena here) is definitely the most humorous of all. She reaches her speach from 0/100mph in 2 seconds. So damn clever, spicy and open minded. She plays well with her humility and has the capacity of laughing of her self. A true bridget jones. An awesome professional with mind wide open and free speech. Silvia is delicious, spontaneus, laugh a lot, she's fire. Catarina... awesome professional, very emotional andstunning. Daniela, super funny as well, alongs in everything. I can imagine different approaches : Daniela and Filomena...omg, it will be unpredictable, both crazy, lol. Catarina and Silvia, a sobber approach. Switch them will get a middle comic sobber presentation. Joint them all... pray the lord. :)

I'm so happy Filomena is one of the hosts. As soon as Salvador won I kept saying I wanted Filomena as a host because she is seriously one of the funniest Portuguese celebrities

Oh man I absolutely LOVE these women! They are so friendly, motivated and open for some new experiences. And the other two do so as well, I'm sure! It's so lovely and funny how they talk about each other ("She's awsome, I'm crap")!:D
And I really am looking forward to their moderation. One can see that not only Portugal but also they as ESC's hosts waited for so long and now they are READY to slay!
Especially that they want to do something fresh and new is awesome as hell. It's not the typical jabbering like "We want to be good hosts for Eurovision" and so on BUT are such motivated to make this ESC the best we ever had. They don't see themselves as boring hosts but as hosts who want to complement the show! LOVE THEM!

So excited to see these ladies present the next edition. It’ll be nice to see for the first time how Portugal will deliver Eurovision to us, especially since the four hosts already seem to be much more lively than last year’s. Qual é o problema de uma europeia tentar falar com sotaque europeu? A Filomena também está longe de ter um sotaque americano perfeito.
O inglês é a minha língua materna e realmente adoro os sotaques das duas! São bem melhores que o meu sotaque em português, fogo.

My gosh, I am from Brazil, so I am a native Portuguese speaker... But that introduction was impossible to get without the subtitles. It's really funny to know that they were speaking my own native language. Haha
Yes, and you in Brazil don't speak Portuguese anymore, but Brazilian...ahah ^^
Even in Portugal we have some accents that even for us, we need subtitles (in portuguese) to understand them . For example : The Azorian Accent especially the São Miguel Accent. It's normal, you are not used to our accent. =) And our accent doesn't have many airtime in Brazil like the brazilian have in Portugal (we have a lot of brazilian soup operas - telenovelas). It's like an American in London, the first time is very difficult to understand the british accent =) Don't be afraid to our accents :D also we in Portugal have many accents! The North accent is different from the Center Accent, and in the South is different than in the NorthEast and so on. (if i'm correct, you too in Brazil also have many accents =) )
that's because Brazilian people are the dumbest people 've ever met when it comes to languages. So it doesn't surprise me that you can't understand your own language, Portuguese. And yes I'm from Portugal and I know what I'm talking about because I've met a lot of those Brazilians that live in here and in general they are not very smart with foreign languages.

She really speaks english very well. However, I think that Daniela Ruah is the only one with american roots.
nope born and raised in Portugal. And she has not an american accent...it is quite portuguese actually
Portuguese tend to have an american accent because we watch a lot of american media without dubbing it, unlike many european countries.
Daniela has no American roots, both her parents are Portuguese Jews. She was born in Boston but grew up in Portugal.
