P.S. Absolutely one of the tops of 2022, and one of iamamiwhoami’s best albums!! 🥰 I’ve particularly had “Canyon” and “Thunder Lightning” on high rotation, and “A Thousand Years” just makes me tear up every time (and I love it).
Very many thanks as always!! 😘😘😘

Again. Thank you for reacting to this album. I can't wait to hear this in a live show in 2023. We all need to slow dance with everyone. Like you mentioned too, the production is beyond. I think that this album represent both Claes and ionnalee becoming a parent and it is the next chapter of their life thats beautiful and celebration. Claes and ionnalee collab like in previous album really puts magic in their sound as iamamiwhoami. I've been listening to this album every week. Hope to see you in her live shows soon.

(Sorry to write to much again😅 love that you take your time to read all our thoughts💚)
Love this album! A lovely companion for this first half of 2022... a year between somber and light, so as the music of Be Here Soon.
She has said that this album is not about her pregnancy, but the lyrics are so ambiguous that it seems to fully embracing that topic, song through song. She has said that Zeven refers to life with OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder, but i think that doesn't negates that it also takes part in the personal view of a pregnancy.
A prior album, Kin, is supposedly to be about a loss, an abortion AND the relationship between iamamiwhoami and its new public as "lovers", with very ambiguous and criptic lyrics too.
For me, each song of this albums refers to the process of acceptance of giving birth again, the fear of it but finding strenght in oneself (herself in this case) to go with it.
Walking on Air, you said is like "dying", for me it is the birth process, the lyrics from the perspective of this baby coming out of her, leaving its known world to enter "ours", while the music, the instrumental, its "the vessel": the mother. The final solo are like the screamings of pain on the birthing process, to finally this baby "going out" and "walking on air".
Thunder lighting can be interpreted this way too, the instrumental being this joyful mother despite having a creature that is hitting her without warning from inside, like a thunder.
Saying this, even maybe the choice of guitar could also represent, by the strings, her own vocal chords and placing itself on this "vessel" while the lyrics is the reflection of this new being inside with her. The voice she is giving to this new one.
Maybe im just thinking too much😅 but iamamiwhoami has set that meticulously criptic knot to each one to unroll.
As she said in Blue Blue, "continue to the line i draw, fill in the missing mark. Without you, i am who?"
All of this wonders me with a new question. How would it be to have a mother giving an album dedicated to one as a child? A gift that very little beings are afortunate ot receive, to has this music as part of its familiar record.

Nooo, not thinking too much at all - all really great points! Like I said, I think you can take any song in anyway you want and relate it to YOUR life, so I like that she said it's not about her baby, because then it allows us to really have our own thoughts and feelings towards certain songs!
I guess Walking on Air and 'birth' and a baby's own way of dying, leaving the womb, where it's safe, warm etc and then coming into the real world, this place is rather hellish ;)
IM STILL NOT OVER A THOUSAND YEAR AND THAT ORGAN!!!

So glad you loved this! Her collection of music is amazing! I think you would get an absolute kick out of the Goldfrapp discography as well! Movie music, 80s dance, folk, rinse repeat.

all iamamiwhoami/ionnalee projects are audiovisual, so if you're more interested in the universe of each song and album they are expanded throughout the videos. I truly recomend it, as it adds flavour, meaning and cohesion to the songs/project. And what a nice reaction!! Lovely to see some tears shed while listening

This feels a bit like a going back to her roots imo, she started as her real name jonna lee and made indie singer songwriter music before making iamamiwhoami... And this album to me feels like an evolution of that definitely!
