Fish Hoek (Afrikaans: Vishoek, meaning either Fish Corner or Fish Glen) is a coastal town at the eastern end of the Fish Hoek Valley on the False Bay side of the Cape Peninsula in Cape Town, South Africa. Previously a separate municipality, Fish Hoek is now part of the City of Cape Town. As a coastal suburb of Cape Town, Fish Hoek is popular as a residence for commuters, retired people and holidaymakers alike. The traditional industries of 'trek' fishing and angling coexist with the leisure pursuits of surfing, sailing and sunbathing.
Fish Hoek Beach is one of the best family beaches in South Africa. Recentely installed shark nets make for safe and pleasant swimming. Fish Hoek until recently was one of the last "dry towns" which did not serve alcohol in restaurants. Today you will still not find a bottle store in FIsh Hoek.
Fish Hoek beach has a thriving restaurant which also serves take away meals and ice creams.

I AGREE ON IT BEING A BEAUTIFUL BEACH AND TOWN, AND THE WATER IS SO CLEAR. YOU JUST BE CAREFUL IF YOU EVER SWIM IN THOSE WATERS. WHITE SHARKS ARE NOT UNCOMMON THERE AND IT CAN BE QUITE DANGEROUS SWIMMING IN THAT OCEAN
