Excellent time with David Livingston! The "Manchurian Candidate-ness" is so good with this. My fun nitpicks include Geordi's ineptitude during his trivia game (all the while smugly making it sound like it was easy) AND why they were conducting phaser rifle tests in the open (where someone could walk into the beam), yet alone in Engineering...and especially adjacent to the Warp core when a holodeck would suffice. Oy... Anyways, thanks @The7thRule ! ❤💛💙🤓🖖🏾
It was also technically an o'brian must suffer episode. First he kills him, then he spills a drink on him. Then he wakes him up in the middle of the night. lol
We've seen that shuttle before. Data was "blown up" in one in the most toys. It's been on a few other times as well. The ensigns of command is another example.
Great review of this fantastic episode, starting off in the first segement with the ever dapper and ebullient @David Livingston for his directorial debut!! Great backstory from him on the whole process he went through and I feel he got a meatier episode thank Sir Pat and Jonathan did because of his familiarity with the behind the camera processes of writing/production manager/supervising producer and all that good stuff. He also has a wonderful photography career since he really has an eye for things. Great stuff from Cirroc and Ryan giving David his roses as well as really digging into the meat of the episode. Too cool that the Ambassador was the director of the TOS episode Charlie X. Very good stuff came out of the FFA and, of course, the Live Chat was hopping with the #ChatPack in full force - ONE LOVE #ChatPack, The Next Generation of #ChatFam!!
A really good if somewhat dark episode this week. There is so much going on - espionage, torture, brainwashing. The ship looks beautiful, from engineering to the cargo bay from whichever angle you see it. I love the sequence with Geordie walking through the ship, with that dream-like look. Levar Burton and Brent Spiner are both so good at delivering techo-babble while sounding like they know exactly what they are talking about. I spotted John Fleck's name in the opening credits and went Silick! (I have a soft spot for Enterprise). I also noticed a reference to Worf being a Tactical Officer which is not something you hear a lot. And I thought Troi was well used in the end, actually doing her job well. And the end was poignant if slightly disturbing. Catch you next week. 🖖
Was I the only one that Saw Jae in the lower level of engineering (where I didn't even know people could ever get to until this episode) before the transporter room?
OMG speaking of the 3 levels of engineering, I saw Lt Jae in the bottom layer. I'm pretty sure that was her. I saw her later on as well. I don't recall where. I'm like.......whoah 2 Jae spottings. lol
nope season 1 heart of glory. We see Geordi's vision briefly. The ship was ready to explode and picard was like.....look at this. Look at that. It's like.ummm it's going to explode perhaps you should get a move on.

What an amazing debut. I love the camera work. It's really creepy in a good way.

The second place was at a Transporter console. I missed her appearances in Engineering.
I thought his PJs were purple.
